Just thought I'd point out a minor thing. The "Download the Player's Guide" button on the main page for Strength of Thousands seems to point to the "Horizons of the Vast" Player's Guide.

Still glancing through Tsuto's journal, Simflay replies to Grulyn.

"Well, Tsuto specifically mentions 'Thistletop Goblins' here, perhaps they are more important than the other tribes in all of this. We should try to find out where they are located. Perhaps Shalelu can help us with that."

Looking slightly puzzled she thinks to herself... "Did I just suggest that we start looking for a clan of goblins to hunt down? Am I going mad? But then, isn't everything about this a little bit mad?"

Then she continues "By the way Father Zantus, if you are going down to pour holy water in that awful well, I will draw a map for you, so whoever goes down doesn't need to hunt about for it in that ghastly place."

Taking 10 will give Simflay a 15 on Mapmaking which should be enough to make a serviceable, if basic map.

Hey folks - I'm going to be away for the weekend. My daughter had a baby yesterday so I am hopping on a plane to fly down and meet my grandson for the weekend. There is no way available to represent a big enough smile for this ... I will just have to use this... :D

Feel free to bot Simflay if you need to push things along over the weekend.

As the three men finish talking, Simflay comes into view racing down Glass Street at a dead run... Spotting the hulking form of Masdok through a window, she abruptly changes direction and rushes up to the Glassworks.

Hurrying in to the room where the three are talking, she starts trying to talk but is held up at first, trying to catch her breath.

"Nu ... ah ... oh ... I ... I was..." she trails off, giving herself a moment to breathe before she continues... "I saw, I just saw the plaque," she gestures vaguely in the direction of the Cathedral, "the one with the names of all the people who died in the fire. Father Tobyn is on there. And there's another name under his. Nualia. That's the same name that Ameiko said when she was telling us about Tsuto. He said that someone called Nualia was leading the goblins. So, if this Nualia is Tobyn's daughter, then Tsuto's journal makes sense. It says something about his love burning her father's remains. So unless there are two people with the same name, she must have survived that fire."

At that, she stops, still breathing a bit heavily...

Filiana looks up from preparing the tea as the Doctor enters the kitchen. She appears to have been taking some comfort just in the process of preparing the tea and is visibly more relaxed already.

She looks up and smiles slightly at Cawthorne's enthusiastic reaction to the tea and strangely, finds herself even more at ease for it. "Goodness," she thinks to herself, "who would have thought, when I left home all those weeks ago, that I'd be sitting here preparing tea with someone like this? I'd never even heard of a ... Tengu ... before. And I completely expected that I would be on my way back home by now. I may have dreamed about not returning... of finding somewhere else to be, someone else to be, but ..." The thought breaks off as Cawthorne poses his question. Her brow crinkles slightly as she considers the question.

"I suppose, if I'm honest, I'd have to say I wasn't completely ignorant of these ... abilities. I did know about some of them back home in Redleaf, although neither time I used them were deliberate, they just sort of ... happened, almost on their own. Just the light, and the white fire. And once those had happened I tried very hard not to do anything that might make them happen again."

Her brow smooths out as her eyebrows rise when a thought strikes her. "Do you know, it's just struck me how much new magic I have done, things I hadn't done before, things I didn't even know I could do, just in the couple of days that we have been here. I was so sure that this could only be bad that I tried to keep it all shut away. It never occurred to me that they could be a blessing. Or that there could be so much more."

She smiles again. "My father always used to tell me tales. Tales of the Longsong family. The Longsong family is many hundreds of years old and is spread far and wide across the lands of the Inner Sea. He always had tales of this or that distant cousin or great great aunt who fell into adventure in far off lands. As I got older I always believed that his stories were just made up, but perhaps there was truth in them after all. There was one tale. Of an ancestor right here in Ustalav. He fought in the shining crusade. Did something brave apparently, though it was never very clear what exactly. But my father used to say that for his service he was blessed by the servant of the Dawnflower on the field and that from then on when he fought evil he glowed with a white light."

Her eyes widen as she suddenly connects that part of the story with what has been happening with her.

Why does it take 3 actions to accomplish what you could do in 1 in 1E? (Draw weapon, move, leap)

That doesn't sound like "giving me the most out of my time" at all.

Why are fighters the only ones able to make an AoO?

Training probably. It sounds like everybody gets something they can do with their reaction, just not all the same thing. Frankly a fair number of classes in the current system might go their entire adventuring career without making an AoO, so giving them something else to do could be quite cool.

Hi y'all

I'm looking at creating my first Pathfinder character at the moment and I've got a particular idea in mind but would like some expert advice on the practicality.

What I am thinking of is a half-elven archery ranger/rogue/assassin. Unfortunately, I see that the Assassin's death attack only works on a melee attack and I am wondering is whether there are any feats available that would allow this to be done with a bow? Or am I better off just dropping the assassin in favour of more rogue levels and just Sneak Attacking my targets to death?

Thanks very much
