hey so im trying to understand how the tatoos to work. are they just enhancements of spells or u can cast spells im just not understanding how it works


so our playgroup is having a disagreement on this spell.

here is the situation:

hallway is 20 feet across

large creature(enemy) is base to base with our large melee alchemist with long arm.I am standing behind the alchemist.I casts knights calling on la?rge enemy, he fails save.

there is no way for creature to move to me(who is behind the alchemist) without taking an attack of Opportunity.

i say he can move because his ONLY option is to move which starts an attack of opportunity because there is no way to get to me without hte attack.

my buddy is stating that sence any movement would cause an attack he wont move

who is right?


i was thinking of doing one of hte crafted feats. robobly wonderous items but my party wants rings of freedom of movement so i might do craft ring.

what im realy wondedering what metamagic feats work well with charm person/monster/ hold person, black tentacle


making a lvl 8 psychic.
im planning on specializing in enchantment magic.
but i also plan to have mind thrust as well

im trying to decide what traits/feats would be appropriate for this build


so the title says it all, i would like to build as psychic character who is good at controlling the battlefield and have the ability to do some blasting.

what spells should i pick up.

if you guys can think of a way to do it without going samsaran im ok with that as well.


ok im having a problem figuring out why so many guides show summoning spells as being very powerful.

when i look at the creatures that can be summoned they would be barely able to hit a target in my campaign(rise of the rune lords)

can someone explain to me how summoning is powerful.

my favorite class in 3.5 was a shadowcaster

basicly while not being evil i want to do blasting but i want it to be like shadow damage or something.

i just want to make it dark and ominus for lore reasons and being able to cast a fireball of shadow energy would be cool


ok so im wanting to make a shadow priest how do you guys think i could do it.

While i want the shadow for flavor the group does need a good blaster so i would like ot be able to be a good blaster still

any help would be awesome

im also not against using words of power to make it even more crazy/fun


im not understanding magical knack, does it mean the spells are casted as if i was 2 lvls higher or does it mean that at lvl 7 i can cast my lvl 9 stuff?


so im building a paladin for level 7
Angel born Assamir,w/ scion of humanity
STR-16 + 2(racial)
Dex - 10
Con- 14
Int - 12
Wis - 7
Cha - 15 +2 (racial)

thinking of putting my lvl 4 stat bonus to int to make it 13 so i can use unsanctioned Knowledge

feats
Greater Mercy, Power attack, unsanctioned knowledge, need one more feat.

traits not sure yet

want it to be a 2h guy but also have decent AC.

any advice.
what AC should i be aiming for with all my gear.
Should i change my stats a bit any advice will be helpful


ok another question, is it worth going for unsanctioned Knowledge for a 2h pally or a sword and board pally, using 20pointbuy

i might be missing something but a bloodrager's swift action economy seams pretty free. what are swift actions that bloodrager generally use


so im building a level 5 bloodrager for my campaign.

im starting with a escape from a dunguen scenario

the thing that was wielding me out about what dosgamer is if i have 4 players of APL of 3 i shoul use a CR 3
if i have 4 players at APL of 3 i also use a CR 3 but there are more players now. im just having trouble understanding how to make a fun balanced but challenging encounters


so im a new GM and im wanting to make an appropriate encounter for my players.
They are starting at level 3 and they have 5 players.
im just trying to figure out how to make a proper enemies for them

So this group contains players familer with pathfinder so i want to make it challenging.

The way the book describes on how to calculate challenge rating for your group isnt to helpful to me. if anyone can give me examples on how you calculate how you decided how your encounters are fair for your players.

I want it to be harder. Character death is possible but i dont want the encounter to mean they will die. i dont want the encounter to be a formality. I know the players think challenging content is fun.

so i have never made a range caster before(my magic experience comes from paladins and magus)

My group is melee heavy and we have a summoner who can buff the party so i was thinking of making a magic DPS or a debuffer who can do damage. What class should i go? Casters are new to me. I was originally leaning towards physic or a phycic sorcerer, sense no one is an occult class.

any help pointing me in the right direction would help. I know from past experience i dont like playing healers or buffer characters so i want to be able to do some damage.

I was looking at samsaran physic with the Mystic Past Life to get access to some Occultist damage spells.

i was wondering if there is a way to get access to wizard spells as a psychic.
Right now to get fireball could go Samsaran with Mystic Past Life, to grab fireball from the Occultist spell-list.

is there any other ways to get access to other spells. I hate playing classes where i dont have any true offensive capability

my one thought if i decide to do a angel born aasimar, i would get access to alter self for more strength and also have access to arcane strike. but having access to heart of the fields might be to good to pass up

what i was wondering should i get more strength or pick a race that would allow me to have more constitution to round out the character more. First time making a barbarian. so im curious. or even make my dex higher. im not sure what to do with this character. For story reasons i want it to have a strong dex score and i thought 15 would be good and probobly pump it at level 4.


and just to make sure i understand how all these metamagic interact lets say shocking grasp+intensify spell+empower, at level 6, you are rolling 9d6?


but so if i prepare it as empowered sence i dont cast spontaniously it would come back as empowered.


if i empower arcana a shocking grasp and spellrecall the same spell does it stay empowered?

standard range attack:

if a melee attack can attack multipul times why cant the kinetic blast


does haste work with kinetic blast? what range feats would work best to maximize damage

Is a shield bashing paladin worth it?
or would i just be better off using my feats to make my main attack hit harder/easer


is two weapon fighting viable as a pally or would i just be better off attacking with the one handed weapon

im thinking going the power attack route if i don't shield bash

any advice its for society and don't want to screw up a society build


was thinking paladin so +2 to str and cha seem nice

so what happens if at character lvl 8 i take another lvl of magus, so im a magus 7 and dragon disciple 2, so i will have all the benefits of a lvl 7 magus but the spells per day of a lvl 8 magus??


so a question is say im lvl 6 magus and then i get lvl 2 dragon disciple do i get my lvl 3 spells and what happens when u take lvls in magus again. im not understanding how they interact

in general im not understand how the increasing in spell lvls with a prestige class works with any caster class

question as a magus when i use my touch spell attack with the melee weapon does it get the minus 2 modifier?
