I am thinking a 30 point buy Cleric Mage. I will adjust and see how it turns out. How do you feel about age modifications?

How will you handle archtypes?

Dot with interest
Stat1: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (4, 4) + 7 = 15
Stat2: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (4, 3) + 7 = 14
Stat3: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (1, 4) + 7 = 12
Stat4: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (3, 5) + 7 = 15
Stat5: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (3, 3) + 7 = 13
Stat6: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (5, 6) + 7 = 18

I am thinking of an arcane investigator of sorts...something like Harry Dresden??maybe

Withdrawing
enjoy the game.

Please let me know if you are ok with this character before I go and adjust the stats and such. Thanks.

I have adjusted the submission per your suggestion GM.

Here is my Submission
Gm please let me know if you have any questions
Thanks again

@seka
I adjusted the character back to what I originally want it to be
Let me know what you think.

The short answer would be because of your need to deal with undead.
I had a different plan for the character but since you needed some power over the undead I took a level in cleric for that reason. I will happily go back to the original character which would have access to clerical spells by no channeling energy. Nethys was the only god that would fit into the character concept.

The Character will not get spells or domain powers (I think that channel energy will still work as it is not granted by spell or domain powers. It is from the characters faith in their god IMO...lol DM's call of course)

Submission is in
Will adjust the background a bit to match the campaign

Stat: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 4) + 6 = 12
Stat: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 5) + 6 = 17
Stat: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 3) + 6 = 11
Stat: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 1) + 6 = 9
Stat: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 4) + 6 = 12
Stat: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 3) + 6 = 12
Not the best of scores but the fit into character I want to create.
should have it adjusted soon

Dot, will adjust soon

I am leaning towards a theurge that has a living spell (unseen servant) as his familiar. So he is known to talk to himself..has whole conversations with himself. It would help if they could see the servant. His parents thought it was am imaginary friend.

Thanks, I think I will call the familiar...Siri

1 person marked this as a favorite.

This is my submission. I still need to update the background a bit

Something normal with a twist from the past.
A simple universal wizard with a familiar.
The familiar is a Living spell: Amanuensis
The idea is this:
Spell Effect (Su): An object or objects with writing hit by a living spell's slam attack is subjected to the normal effect of the spell, as if it were within the area or effect of the spell itself. Saves apply as normal for the spell; the DC is 10 + spell level + Cha modifier. The living spell causes writing from one source (such as a book) to be copied into the memory of the living spell, coping 250 words per minute and creates a perfect duplicate of the original. The spell effect copies only nonmagical text, not illustrations or magical writings (such as the text of a spellbook, a spell scroll, or a sepia snake sigil). If the target contains text and illustration, only the text is copied. The spell triggers (but does not copy) writing-based magic traps in the material being copied. The spell does not translate the copied writing. If you do not understand the original, you have no additional ability to understand the copy.

Engulf (Ex): A living spell can flow around creatures/items that fit within its space as a standard action. It cannot make a slam attack during a round in which it engulfs. The living spell merely has to move over the opponents/item, affecting as many as it can cover. Opponents can make attacks of opportunity against the living spell, but if they do so they are not entitled to a saving throw. Those who do not attempt attacks of opportunity must succeed on a Reflex save (DC 10 + spell level + Cha modifier) or be engulfed; on a success, they are pushed back or aside (opponent's choice) as the spell moves forward. Engulfed creatures are subject to the full normal effect of the living spell each round on the living spell's turn, and are considered to be grappled.
The living spell causes those creature or items to be copied into its memory, enabling it to take the shape of the person or item creating a perfect duplicate of the original albeit in a gray color. The Living Spell can engulf illustrations creating a duplicates of the image.

Very Interested...will tweak the alias soon

@ Dm Puppet Master
I think I have all the corrections made
thanks again for your time

updated character
I hope I did not miss anything

Male Human Theurge 1

I am sorry but I am not following any of this right now...

Zel wrote:

Clearing his throat rather loudly and with a stern look about his face I do not know how your parents raised you, but I do know that it is not proper to whisper in the company of others...Especially their elders. Now come over here where I can hear you and say what it is that has you two so animated. Come on...I do not have all day...

Zel waves the two young men over to him.

I rolled a bunch of knowledge checks and I assume what information we got from that was about the prophecy. Not sure what the end result was with the two men whispering.

Male Human Theurge 1

Are we waiting on someone...
Or are there threads that we as players need to answer to?

Male Human Theurge 1

Zel looks at the two young men. Then he looks at the rest of the party.. realizing that maybe no one else heard what the whispers were about.

Zel looks at the paladin with admiration and pride.
Lord Ludington, I do understand your concerns and desires. Yes I will study this circle as I need to find out what type it is. With that Knowledge I can then determine how to best proceed with its destruction. These things are dangerous and must be dealt with care and and respect for the power that it contains. I do not like it at all but I have to study it to determine its nature. Zel looks the paladin in the eyes and places a hand on his shoulder. In a soft gentle tone
I appreciate your concerns for my soul and welcome the guard...now do you understand my desires...

Male Human Theurge 1

Zel looks at the paladin with understanding.
Something of this evil is of great concern and I would like to see it destroyed as well, but we can not do such a thing at this moment. Until we can determine several factors. I need to study this summoning circle more to determine if I can, what was summoned and if it was successful. If we destroy the circle now we might release such an entity on the world. Zel turns his attention to the children.
Who can explain the summoning circle that was drawn in the other room there.
He will try to make his voice sound reassuring but will fail at it.
I am sorry but this is of utmost importance. What that circle can do or might have done is extremely dangerous to everyone. Not just this building, not even the town. This affects the world. Any Knowledge of such a circle is kept at the Spiral of Magi, so I would like to know how this circle came to be.
and in a softer tone
Please

He will take out a not book, drawling the circle in his book and take notes of his own and notes from the children.

Male Human Theurge 1

Zel looks at Sierra.
Very well, please be careful as we still do not know who or what is behind this. Perhaps Master liek will join you in your search.
Zel turns to face liek
Master liek I thank you for the information on your findings up stair. I will go and see what I can make of it. Would you please help the young lady with her search. It is not wise to wonder off alone
Looking at the children.
Children will you come with me. We will go upstairs and join my friends. I do not want you to see what is in that room. You have been through enough already. You might be able to help us by telling her that everything is going to be OK..can you do that for me. Reassure her that it is over
if the children agree to go upstairs
Zel will lead the way up the stairs looking back every now and then to make sure the children are following...
Tipene, Lord Ludington I am coming up the stairs with the children could you please make sure there is area that we can go to that is quiet and away from the room with the cage. Please I would like to avoid the children seeing anymore than they have.

Male Human Theurge 1

Children, everything is going to be fine. My friends will do everything they can to make this right. Please do not worry so much. We will protect you. Do you know who it was that made you do these things

Male Human Theurge 1

Zel looks at the members of the group that are still around..his brow crinkles in frustrations...not understanding why the others are still here with an old man and some children
seeing sierra head upstairs
he puts a small smile on his face...
they will need your sword as much as her healing skills...now go. Go to the aid of our companions....Tipene needs your aid more than we need a guard. Secure the upstairs and then I will come up with the children. Please go to them..we are fine here.

Male Human Theurge 1

Yes master liek I am certain, as far as I can tell there are only two exits from this room, the one we came in and the one to the upstairs. We should be safe for now.
Zel looks at the young lady with a nod and
You are correct young lady, I should not have asks so many questions at once.
Seeing the young women wanting to go upstairs...
I can take care of the children, go on upstairs with the others...I will be fine and the kids will be fine as well. We have lots to talk about. Go on. I have my magic to protect the children if the need arises. That is if the children have no injuries that need tending to.
He looks at the children..and with a soft gentle voice...
Children let us start at the beginning..hmm. nice and slow and take your time. You have been through a lot already this morning. What ever you can tell me will be of great use to us. When this is over we will go and get you something to eat, you look like to could use a good meal.
zel will asks his questions over a period of time constantly keeping an eye on his surroundings. He will talk in a soft slow neutral tone and be very patient with the children.

Male Human Theurge 1

Zel looks at liek and parnell...
go ahead...go on. We will be fine down here with the children.

Male Human Theurge 1

Zel motions for the boy to come forward.
Those that can, please tend to the wounded. Pyrrhus, Tipene and Podlow please look in on our archer friends upstairs and keep an eye out for trouble as there might be a puppet master around here somewhere..
Master Liek..Lord Ludington if you would please join me as we talk with our young man here.

He looks at the young boy and gives him a knowing smile..and with a soft voice that is non judgmental...
Got yourself in a bit of a pickle huh...Young man, What is your name...and your companions. What has happened to bring you to a decision like this. What is the meaning of all these thefts and assaults on my companions. Where are your parents, what has happened to them that they would let you live like this.

Male Human Theurge 1

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

Male Human Theurge 1

Zel steps into the room after the first group.

The moment he sees the three boys with knives he starts to raise his hand with the rose petals.
Children should know to how respect their elders
The other hand is moving and tracing lines of power in the air.
This is a lesson that should not have to be taught, please stand down and let us talk.
When the boy runs forward, zel speaks word of arcane might..the room resonating with the power of his art.
Child...perhaps you should take a nap and we will talk about this later
Casting sleep at the boy running forward. These are halved already
Range: 50ft
Area: 5ft
Duration: 30 seconds
Save: Will negates DC:10+1+4=15

Male Human Theurge 1

knock,knock...lol

Male Human Theurge 1

Zel sees the injuries.
If anyone has a way to heal..this should be taking care of before we continue into that room and the unknown dangers that await us.
At least bandage these wounds.

Male Human Theurge 1

Zel scans the area very quickly
then moves himself to an area that gives him cover from the crossbow attacks and allows him to see the tall halflings advance on Parnell.
As he moves he pulls out some rose petals and will prepare to cast a spell.
Holding Action to cast the Spell SLEEP at the group once he can see them and gets a description of them
Well now, What have you two gotten yourselves into. He looks around at the others and asks..
If anyone can..please give those archers up there something to think about. Sierra when that distraction comes I want you to run over to us.
He looks up at Pyrrhus and then at his hammer...
Could you put the meat mallet to some use
he points towards parnell
he then looks back at the door where parnell just came out of.
So what is this all about

Male Human Theurge 1

I am good with which ever is fastest and makes the game run smoother..

Male Human Theurge 1

initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17

Male Human Theurge 1

The old man walks calmly and quietly toward the last known location of the two missing companions staying in the middle of the group. His hands are reaching in and out of little pockets on his belt. You can see odd assortment of trinkets. Rose petals, cured leather, crystals.
mumbling to himself as he pulls an item out and replaces it only to come out with another trinket.
defensive, defensive, offensive..what is this..oh lint.
He pulls our some fine copper wire and still mumbling
well now what do we have here..A message spell might come in handy.

Male Human Theurge 1

If someone would be so kind as to lead the way back to where you last seen our two companions, we might be able to find out what has happened to them from that location

Male Human Theurge 1

Perhaps someone should go an search for our lost companions
Zel stands up and looks around at each member of the group
...and by someone I mean all of us. No sense in someone else getting lost. Where was it that they were last seen?
He spots liek standing there with his notes and walks over to him.
Master liek, I thank you for your information but I am afraid a discussion on your findings will have to wait for a bit longer...

Male Human Theurge 1

Yes, it seems that the Lord Ludington and the young warrior priestess of Ceanna have gone and gotten themselves lost
He appears to be thinking...
or...have run into the thieves...

Male Human Theurge 1

Yes that could work, yes it could
his brow wrinkles up as he contemplates what it is he will be involved in...
That is it could work if the thief did not know what he or she has stolen. That is something we need to find out first before we put my head on the butchers table as it is.
He looks around at the group
Master Leik, Would you please confirm what it was that each merchant has reported stolen. It would be nice to know as many details about the theft as possible...time, who was working, what was stolen and a detail description of the item or items would also help. If you would please indulge me in this
Looking around the blacksmith's works of art, he will point to each of the items that he feels are of high quality.
Master Pyrrhus, did you craft all of these items yourself or did you come by them through trade or purchase?

Male Human Theurge 1

Same here. I was looking at a bunch of perception checks and a detect magic that was waiting to be replied to...sorry for the confusion.
I am able to post about every day or so
depending on the little ones destroying the house as I type...

do right now I am waiting for the results to come in on a detect magic

Male Human Theurge 1

I am for that but I would like to give the DM some more time...it has been only a few days. So if there is no activity by Saturday I will drop from the game.
That being said if this game goes belly up is there anyone who would like to run an AP??

Male Human Theurge 1

I will give it to Saturday to see what happens if nothing by then. I will move along. I think 1 week is plenty of time.

Male Human Theurge 1

hello???anyone???
has this game gone belly up or what is going on?

Male Human Theurge 1

Greetings Lord Ledington, Pleasure.
Hearing the commotion be careful, this could be a diversion of sorts
If this is a diversion why do so at mid day....could be the thieves are desperate to get something specific...hmm I wonder
Casting Detect Magic and scanning the room
Since magic is half strength I will have to walk around the room to have it effect everything
