![]() I must admit the lack of responses severely hurt my motivation... Currently sitting pretty at 2 HP. Blood is streaming down Zariya's body after three massive cuts from the skeletons. "Wow, that was a rough fight. Good thing I had my armor or would just be a bloody pile now. They seemed to focus on me somehow. Let me get patched up before we proceed. Sarenrae, please heal your faithful servant with your blessed light." Light flashes around her, not once, not twice, but three times. Some of her wounds close up, but quite a few still remain. Cure Light Wounds, giving up Moment of Greatness: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

![]() You are right, for some reason I thought you could use the AoO against another enemy, but turns out that you can't. You can still attack the downed enemy and move all in one go though. Note that there are no one except Zariya carrying a weapon they can flank with atm and she is in a position she can't flank from. ![]()
![]() At least Zariya gets one more turn before Nenet as she goes first and due to having higher init modifier.
Hunting Party, if it hits Jardar-Ki gets an AoO: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25 damage: 1d12 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17 "Don't try to make me bigger right now, it'll make it easier for them to hit me and I'm barely holding it together." At 2 HP I will try to resist the enlarge person. Note that the range of enlarge person is close, not touch.
![]()
![]() Was it even targeting Zariya? This is an awful position for enlarge person on her. She can no longer reach enemies and get -2 AC when she's at half health. Also, it takes round to cast, so it wouldn't go off until her next turn, meaning at least Zariya doesn't suffer the reduced AC for the skellies next turn. ![]()
![]() Getting tripped doesn't remove it's turn though. My AoO against it was assuming that it would try to stand up on its turn. "Can't be much left to finish of the one I hit with my hammer. This'll hopefully do the trick and damage the others as well." Zariya pulls out an carved angelic figure hanging from her neck and holds it out. "By the holy light of Sarenrae I bid you to return to the graves from which you came, foul undead creatures!" A bright golden light flashes out from the princess, like that of the sun. Channel energy DC 16 vs will for half: 1d6 ⇒ 4 ![]()
![]() Zariya dealt 21 and Fionnid dealt 9 (reduced to 4), shouldn't it have taken 25? Zariya swings her hammer again at the skeleton approaching her. "Ouch." She utters in pain as the sword strikes deep. Attack of opportunity: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16 damage: 1d12 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14 We are up now, right? ![]()
![]() "Nice job" Zariya flashes a smile at Varisia as he brings down the skeleton. She prepares to strike at it if it tries to get up. I assume it'll try to stand up which will provoke an AoO, attack with the hammer: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26 damage: 1d12 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21
The map is here since stormcrow doesn't post a convinient link to it in the header. Undead are not immune to crits in pathfinder, just in previous versions. Note that a prone target get +4 AC against ranged attacks, but -4 AC against melee, so you might want to avoid that in the future. I believe you can just add Chullain to the map yourself. "You should get some blunt arrows. They would be more effective in this situation." Zariya yells out when she spots the kinds of arrows the archer is using. ![]()
![]() "Most weapons glance of their bones. Use blunt weapons to crush them." Zariya offers a tip to the rest of the party as she drops her fauchard and gets out her lucene hammer. However her unfamiliarity with the weapon leads to her swing going wide. Silver Strike: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9 Silver Strike reroll: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8 ![]()
![]() Was my 13 knowledge religion enough to know anything about skeletons? For example if they have DR? Zariya is surprised to see the skeleton right up in her face and not able to avoid it's blow. It seems to aim for a vulnurable opening in her armor, but at the last moment there is a faint pulse of light and the angle of the attack changes as if battered aside to clink of her armor. Zariya swings towards the second skeleton approaching her, trying to decimate it before it can reach her.
"Seems like my goddess does indeed protect me so they can't harm me Jardar-Ki. At least with that attack. Let's use this opportunity to take back the initiative and take them down. Come on everyone, we can do this." As mentioned previously Zariya will use encouraging roar on her turn, so anyone who delay will benefit from it. Waiting on the result of the knowledge check before taking my turn. ![]()
![]() Can't move my token from phone. @stormcrow: Can't you just move people up with Zariya taking the lead then start round 1? You did win initiative, so you are moving first anyway. Zariya answers Varisia with a smile. "It's fascinating to see you work Varisia. I can use the healing scroll if we run out of other healing. It might be useful." Mechanically, if you either delay (until init 11) or ready an action (for Zariya using encouraging roar) you could all benefit from it. ![]()
![]() No idea why I thought a 17 crits... What I was thinking was more along the lines off "wow, crazy luck, critting all the time." Not even realizing it wasn't a crit. Did we get any xp? Also could you please post a link to the map in the header and/or under you alias. Finding the link on mobile is a pain. "Snakes are dangerous. Though I can't help but wonder if that was necessary. Could we have avoided it's death somehow?" Zariya is distraught by killing the animal even if she would have done the same a second time. Protecting her companions is more important. She walks over to the snake and examines it while murmuring a prayer. "May Sarenrae shelter your spirit. It's unfortunate that it had to end this way, but I couldn't risk my companions lives."
After finding nothing in B7 Zariya proceeds to B8, looking for anything of interest.
![]()
![]() Zariya steps between the snake and the party, 15 feet away. "There is a snake there! Be wary." She readies to attack it if it moves towards her. "Nenet is right though, it could be something else than what it appears to be. But don't worry, I'll protect you all from it." The last bit comes out as a shout, hopefully encouraging her allies. Encouraging Roar, stop 15 feet away and ready an attack. If it moves Zariya gets both the attack and an AoO. Readied attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24 damage: 1d10 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15 Crit confirm: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22 Crit damage: 1d10 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17 AoO: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15 damage: 1d10 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16 ![]()
![]() "We should go together and proceed slowly." Zariya says before moving up ahead, checking out the well and the benches on the opposite side before proceeding to the next room B7. She prays as she goes. "Sarenrae guide my eyes so I don't miss anything of note." Perception with guidance well: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23
![]()
![]() "i was worried for you, but I'm glad to see that you are alright. Maybe it's better that we keep together? I was bit, but it wasn't much, so might be better to save healing until more of us can benefit from it. Let's see what we find here now." Zariya proceeds to help with the searching. Taking 20 on perception only takes a minute, so if that yields anything Zariya will do that for 32 with guidance. What exits are there from this room? ![]()
![]() Zariya is also before the dog goes again. @Zohreh: I used encouraging roar at the start of the encounter, it's still in effect so you would get +2 to both attack and damage. If the dog is still concious after her companion's attacks Zariya will lash out with her weapon, again battering the animal aside to make it easier for her friends to finish the deal. "Zohreh, strike into the opening from my attack!" Hunting Party: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15 nonlethal damage: 1d10 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14 ![]()
![]() A whip doesn't normally threaten I believe, so you sadly don't get AoO's. Though if you are changing that rule I'm all for it :). "See, we can do this." Zariya smiles as her powerful blow knocks down the first dog, before she turns around to turn her polearm towards the other dog trying to attack her, trying to knock that out as well, giving it a solid knock on the side of the head, knocking one of the heads into the other and finishing with a menacing glare. "Down and play dead or I'll make you dead!" Attack of opportunity nonlethal: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18 Damage: 1d10 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18 Intimidate: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29 ![]()
![]() Sorry guys. Vacation has been rough and I haven't had as much time as I would like to post... @Varisia: If you fail trip by 10 or more you'll have to drop your weapon I belive. @Nenet: What happened to color spray? I see that you now have magic missile instead :(. This party could really use some crowd control, pretty much everyone else are focused on damage, with Varisia/Zariya/Zohreh all carrying trip weapons. Landing toppling spell will be quite difficult. It's probably too late to change now that you've used it, but I think it would be more fun if your character tried to do something unique, rather than the same thing as everyone else. Zariya rushes forward and shouts. "Don't worry Varisia! We got this. Well strike these down before they can harm you. Next time though, maybe it's a better idea if we all go together." She then strikes out at the dog that tried to bite him. Encouraging roar as swift, move up then silver strike. The position means that if the other dog attacks her she'll get an AoO. Knoweldge Religion: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21

![]() Zariya turns towards Varisia with a relived look on her face. "Gald to have you back Varisia. As I just said, That was a phenomenon called a haunt. It happens cause of some great trauma. If we were quick enough, we could have channeled positive energy to stop it, sadly I did not think of it in time. If we encounter something similar I'll try to do it though. It'll keep reappearing unless we find a way to permanently put it to rest. Not sure how often or what might put it to rest though. Anyway, should we look around out there or go in? I suggest we go in, though we should get Jardar-Ki with us." She looks over to the wall. "Hoi, Jardar-Ki, come down here!" After he rejoins the rest the princess will ask him out. "Did you see anything interesting up there? I suggest we go inside now." ![]()
![]() "The phenomenon here is called a haunt. It happens cause of some great trauma. If we were quick enough, we could have channeled positive energy to stop it, but now that it has already had it's effect, it's too late. Though it doesn't look like it'll harm us, just be scary. There might be a way to put it to rest permanently by somehow resolving what happened here in the first place. I don't know what we would have to do for that though." Zariya practically yells out as the party is scattered all over the place. ![]()
![]() I'm not entirely sure what we can do about the situation. "Where did all these people come from? They are not supposed to be here. Are they even real?" Zariya says as she disbelieves he own eyes, she'll grab hold of Varisia and pull him towards the gate they entered through. Combat maneuver check: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13 ![]()
![]() Sadly armor in pathfinder is not as interesting as in other games. There are no set bonuses and most properties are just more armor. If the GM doesn't specifically tailor the gear we find to our characters we'll be quite unlikely to find it. For example the armor we did find would have been a lot better for us if it was a chain shirt or a breastplate instead of a padded quilt. Why does the xp on the experience tab say 1100/2000? Are we using experience or not? For psychic area damage spells, it could be an option to research spells. It's probably a bit late now, but it would have been cool to do so with he 1000 gold Nenet got to start... For example: Crushing Force:
I think that's fairly reasonable for a 1st level spell.
