Sorry for the lack of manners on my part. I didn’t mean to hold the game up at all, let alone for a week. I had a really rough week with two nights of insomnia and a really strange week of sleep overall. It’s probably better if i back out now cause i’m not sure if it might happen again. Thank you for you patience, and hope the campaign goes well.
’It talks! I knew there was something special with you! Um... the thing is are you the good kind of special or the bad kind of special?’ Yuki holds his crossbow close to his chest.
’Hey look! He’s following us. Maybe he want’s to be friends but is too shy to come close. Though the last ones we found weren’t so friendly. Hmm. . . Just to be sure.’ With his hands flicker and some arcane utterances his senses sharpen and attune to the presence of any magic in the direction of the stag.
What a poor waste of potential; though they did make me see spots; and hear spots; and even taste spots, still not sure how they managed that one. Oh well! Where there’s one, there tends to be more! With his bedroll tightly strapped and the borrowed coat pulled around him tightly, he marches forth with the others.
Listening to Garrasay’s words an idea came to mind. ’Crows are fun aren’t they? If you can show us what way they went, then we can show you where to find some crows and we’ll both be on our way. Doesn’t that sound fun?!’
As the sun crept up Yuki could be seen poking at one of the Fey tied to the tree in spite of its protests to stop. ’Will you teach me that trick? Will ya? Will ya? I can think of some really fun things to do with a trick like that. So will ya?’ The other Fey just stared at the fox companion; and the fox stared back. After a moment the fox gave the helpless Fey a big lick, and continued to stare.
Giving a few blinks as the spell wore off Yuki gained his agency back. Whipping around he looked for the source of it, until he noticed things had already started to calm down. As they discussed options for watch and rest he would pull out his bedroll onto an open and ‘clean’ patch of ground; meticulously making sure it looked perfect, before telling the other, ’My little friend and i will be right back.’ He leaned down and whispered something to his fox companion before being chased off behind a few trees. The sound of snow being stepped on could be heard before a pair of foxes came bolting out of a brush. They circled around the feet of the others as they seemed to chase one another before swiftly bolting into the bedroll previously placed onto the ground. The bedroll bumped and tossed a bit before the pair popped their heads out and stared at the others.

Just got caught up with what I missed and made a post.
Shaking from a mix of the freezing cold and the undead from earlier, the energy shown earlier was heavily dampened. At the sound of Fey dancing around, with his hands bundling his clothes closer with a tight grip on his crossbow, he eagerly looks around to catch a look at the flying tiny creatures.
Got a head cold at the moment, so I might be slow on posting this week. Hopefully it’s just a day or two.
Relaxing a little with the commotion settling back down Yuki lowers his crossbow while keeping a grip on it. 'We could always let the snow bury them. I think the wildlife would appreciate it; whenever the snow decides to go away. Oh, wait. Right, undead. Yeah no; nevermind. Oooh, what chu looking at over here?'
Zombies, in the middle of a summer heavy summer snow. This must mean that magic is definitely afoot! Unprepared by the undead nature of their assailant, he pulls out his crossbow and loads a bolt into it.
Accepting the hospitality for the spare coat Yuki puts it on as they walk. As they get to the site and Steinolf heads for the carriage, Yuki decides to walk towards them at a leasurly pace keeping with Gavinia while they take in the sites of the massacre around them.
After an some additional time at the tavern proved fruitless the two made their way to the statue in the square to try and meet up with the others. A couple of them seemed to know the area rather well.
’Well a talking critter would be rather strange,’ he said as he exchanged glances with his fox, ’but that’s little more strange than common wives tales. Although with the sudden visit of an inopportune sleet of snow I could see the reason for unease. Would I be able to bother you for a mug of some of your better quality liquor? Seems the cold still has a grip on my fingers.’ As Kale goes to grab the drink, Yuki looks around for anyone dressed for close travel or for living and pulls a seat next to them. ’First summer snow, then talking wildlife; what’s next? Bandits casting magic?
Leaving some coin for tab and tip the curious pair decided to ask the tavern owners. ’Scuse me, but I heard there was a boy that fell into a river and got ill. I’m looking to find out more on what happened so I can exercise proper caution in my travels. I’ll admit I know little about the area, and for the time of season things seem more strange; so I wish to lower any risks that I may be able to; your food by the way was particularly delicious in this unique summer season.’

A wandering attention finally focused on the table in front of him to see some food had snuck up on them. Looking to his fox companion in joy, Yuki saw an empty chair. He cranked his head all around looking for his furry compatriot. Quietly the fox leapt onto Garrasay’s table. Hunched down and carefully she eyed the vine in the pan. Surprisingly the animal was noticeably bigger than an average cat, and krept toward the vine unthreateningly; with more of a sense of wonder and curiosity in its demeanor. Yuki grabbed his fox and hoisted her up high, causing her to yelp in surprise. ’Sorry about that. You know what they say about no knife sharper to skin a cat than curiosity.’
A soft breeze brought a chill on the otherwise sunny mid summer day. In the edges of the woods could be seen a pair of foxes running about nipping at one another as they played. They weaved through the trees at the shallow end of the forest heading toward the town. A fox emerged from the woods with a human traveling to keep up; the other fox was nowhere to be found. 'Bbbrrr!! Cold cold cold! A line of fur does wonders against the cold nights, but not those kind of cold nights.' The fox was jumping about and running to and fro. 'You know what i've heard, about these cold nights, and that mid summers' snow?' No longer running about, the fox sat and stared at the man; almost leaning into each word he said. There was a noticeable pause as they leaned closer to each other. 'I heard it's cause of magic.' At that they both sprung to life into a hopping dance before they chased each other to the tavern for something hot enough to burn their tongues and thaw their chill. The man took a seat at a table and the fox hopped onto the open chair on the other side with a delicate poise. 'Heard something about a kid chasing a Stag. He said it talked; but he's also ill, so maybe he just thought it talked. Either way, i say we go their and play later today. Food first.
I'm okay with the marching order. My AC will be 13 cause no armor for me. My sheet is complete. I know what skills i put points into and just need to fill out that and items; otherwise everything else is good to go.
I’m going to have to finish my character tomorrow. It’s just some items, a feat and a few spells; but too tired at the moment.
Racial traits and abilities are in my Alias currently. I used Kitsune from Advanced Race Guide and two Alternate Racial Traits from Player Companion: Blood of Beasts.
I may be missing something then. ‘Keen Kitsune’ gives me +2 int rather than +2 cha; and ‘Superior Shapeshifter’ replaces ‘Kitsune Magic’.
It's still a big mess, but it's mostly done. Just need to sand down the edges tomorrow -Pumpkinhead11 edit: Goodberry would be a good idea for all the traveling. |
