![]() Warren stood back and quietly observed the assembled gathering haggle over getting a ride to town. He checked over his belongings looking for anything that may help. An enters his head and he says. "Anyone got a blanket or a large piece of cloth?" He looks at the miner. "I'll give you five credits for an old shirt or blanket, anything fabric. I am going to need some water to. ![]()
![]() Warren let out a breath he didn't realize he was holding in. He just sat stunned as the ship touched down. His hands shook uncontrollably as he entered into a state of adrenaline dump. A low murmur sounded behind him, like a word spoken underwater. He ignored the sound staring blankly at the shield controls. Slowly his wits came back to him. Another sound, Captain Perry, was speaking. "What?" the sound began to register in his fogged brain. "Oh we're leaving? ok right." Warren stood on shaky legs taking another few seconds to steady himself. As he started feeling better he followed Captain Perry to the back of the ship. "Where are we? Did I miss it?" He wanders to the rest of the group and eyeballs the ship. "Geez, tough little bird." He stares at Perry and listens to the instruction. When the man was done Warren said "Oh that's great. I am sure we are all grateful to you captain. Just ah... you know.. a couple of ah...things. his demeanor changes from friendly to agitated. "Who is Rex? Where are we? and what in the name of whatever underworld you believe in, is happening? he raised his voice a little more with each word until ending in a full on shout. He took another steadying breath to calm himself and continued in a more reasonable tone. "I...WE...wake up from some sort of hybersleep straight into a blaster bolt filled space hoedown, nearly DIE..A..whole..bunch..of...times...and now you are just telling us to go to some place called red diamond and meet a guy. How about not until I get some answers." ![]()

![]() Warren glances side eyed at H0N33P0T but doesn't comment. He stops pulling on the rats nest of wires and runs double time to cockpit. As he ran he yelled out "HOW'BOUT WE FIX THE HYPERDRIVE AND GET OUT'TA'ERE?" He slides himself to a halt beside the captain and after taking in several gasps of air says "Where's the problem with the shields?" I don't know if "Man the shields" means repair them with a technical roll or toggle them with a piloting roll. My Technical is lower so I will roll that one. Action 1: move technical: 1d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + (2) = 4 ![]()
![]() "Right, I got the droid's err, back?" Warren called out as he made his way to the area the droid was in. [b]"ok Little guy, you keep doing what you are doing I will start re-routing these couplers, Let's see if we can't shunt the by-pass to compensate for the added strain of the" he continued talking while he worked outlining all of the steps he is taking. Don't know if I need to move to get to the droid so I will roll just in case move: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 3) = 10

![]() @GM, replace the olives with a lime wedge and it is the same as mine. Fill a shaker with thick ice cubes and stir it for at least 60 seconds then strain into a glass. @everyone Ok so at this point I am leaning two ways. either move and assist the droid or should I roll a precautionary technical roll to prevent a potential power failure to a critical system? if power is an issue would it help to have me actively working on it? ![]()

Warren took a minute to assess the state of the ship. Taking in the dialog he formed a pretty good picture what was happening. He ran over to a nearby ship intercom and broadcasted to everyone near a speaker "Hey what are the chances we can board them? I am betting their ship ain't any better then ours at the minute. Can we take the fight to them?" ![]()
![]() I will side with the team. My 2 cents is that in space combat priority should be 1) Power- because without it we are sunk. 2) Shields- Because if the ship turns into a ball of exploding gasses well you get the idea. 3) Life support- because while you can't live without it death is slightly slower then when getting shot at without shield. the last 2 are interchangeable based on hull strength. 4) Guns or thrusters- Because if we can't shoot or run we will eventually die and probably quickly. 5) Sensors - Have to see to shoot 6)Gravity - it is a pain but really not that important in the scheme of everything ![]()
![]() Does anyone else think that 'combined actions" should be different? lol RAW it is better for 2 experts in a field to work separately on a task and hope one of them gets enough on a roll, than it is if they work together on a problem. I get it is because that could be super abused on combat rolls but sheesh it sure does nerf non combat groups. ![]()
![]() "I can't make heads or tails of this gundark nest. Can one of you get over here and give me a hand before we end up vaporized?" Warren said in exasperation as he tried to follow wires to slots and untangle the knotwork of mess he found himself faced with. The effort was herculean but the results were less then impressive. ![]()
![]() sorry my fault, We are still using the "red barrens maps" link and I didn't think anyone would notice it was down. I have been playing with the settings in foundry trying new things, Like adding form fillable PDFs and D6 dice macro with wild dice support. It is back up but It isn't official until GM Therenger makes it so. Sorry for confusion. ![]()
![]() Warren managed to push, pull and drag himself to the main drive power core. "Now let's see exactly what we are dealing with!" He pried the panel off and began the work of trying to get the shields back online. Technical: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 1) = 3
TOTAL=8, I remember to split the roll this time lol ![]()
![]() Warren's feet left the deck as the sudden purge of atmosphere left the crew surging toward the hole. The explosive decompression of the room stole the breath from his lungs. Thankfully he instinctively breathed out lest his lungs rupture from the sudden pressure differential. Luckily the droid was quick and materialized a forcefield and prevented the crew from being vacuumed out into the cold dark. His momentum carried him weightlessly through the room, all semblance of "direction" now irrelevant his gentle sway moved him close to an out jutting of the hull. He propped himself as best he could and tried to launch himself toward H0N33P0T. "Gonna Head to Engineering and see what the damage is" Dexterity: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 6, 6) = 16 CRAP the wild, going to take me a bit to get used to this sorry last die was a 6 so I will roll to explode explode: 1d6 ⇒ 5 Not sure if I moved properly on the map. I am trying to get to engineering, My intent is to try to bring shields back. If that is not the correct spot please let me know. ![]()
![]() Seeing an opportunity to end this without too much more unnecessary bloodshed Warren keeps his blaster trained on the attackers but holds his fire. Instead He calls out "STAND DOWN! YOUR OUT GUNNED! DROP YOUR WEAPONS AND WE CAN TALK" Maybe seeing one of their fellows dropped will help convince them that discretion is the better part of valor. Persuasion is not my forte but I want to try to not be a complete Murder Hobo lol Perception: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 2) = 3
WOW! 18 total. No second action so full dice. Hope They don't blast my face lol ![]()

![]() "Wha? Where am..? Warren tried hard to clear his mind. A cloudy haze obscured his vision, Was it from the environment or was it his eyes? What is happening? Try as he might, his memories just would not come. He had the briefest of moments to consider his predicament before a blaster was shoved into his hand. He glanced at it, eyes just starting to clear. He opened his mouth to question the captain "Captain I need.." When the hatch sheered open. Without thinking Warren moved. His arm raised automatically as if by muscle memory. While he might not remember himself his body sure did. Ok let's see if I under stood how this works. Action 1: Fire blaster at first person through door. So 5D-1D for dodge.
Blaster= 20 total. Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 6, 2) = 19 Reaction: Dodge= 5D-1D(second action)+1D(energy Spec) so 5D
Dodge total= 23 vs Non Energy attack, 29 vs Energy Attacks ![]()

Pretty much yes. I intend to improve the "engineer" aspect while in play, if we get the chance. I am modeling the concept off of chief O'Brian. |
