I have this vision in my head of Six suddenly appearing through Fortune's illusion of Hank and then knocking out one of the guards with a punch.

If he is close enough, Six will move toward the other guard and hit him. If not, he'll run.

Run (if needed): 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15

Fighting, Power Punch: 1d10 ⇒ 51d6 ⇒ 1
Don't think that hits, especially if there is a -2 from Running, but just in case

Power Punch Damage: 1d10 + 1d4 + 2d6 ⇒ (7) + (4) + (1, 5) = 17

VeeSix, upon hearing what he thinks is the signal, runs towards the other guard, right through 'Hank' and jumps into a superman punch.

Six nods in agreement with Hellion. Exactly. They follow the law of the jungle, if we’re going to get through to them, we need to follow it too.” He then thinks for a moment. ”We’ll try not to kill them. So far as we know, they haven’t killed any innocents. No need to mess up our good name by becoming worse than them.”

Much as we might forget, Hellion knows their type and they don’t usually listen to pretty words. Their language is violence and their response, when they have nothing else to punch, is to punch the innocent. That, we cannot allow to happen. So we give them something to punch at. We just happen to be able to hit right back.” Six emphasizes this with fist to his opposite palm.

Six notices Fortune looking at him and gives her a ‘what?’ Look. ”As much as I like Hellion’s idea of just going out there and doing our thing, Fortune is right.” He sighs, pausing for a moment before continuing. ”My face on the Internet is the last thing we need. It would bring a lot of unwanted attention breathing down our necks and I don’t mean rival gangs.” He pats the V’Sori armor he wears absently.

I would say we need to go and find out just where this is taking place and put a stop to it. Perhaps a Networking roll to ask the right questions to the right people.

Six ponders their situation. ”We don’t really have anything from King Something Something and we’ve stirred up some trouble and the population is suffering for it. I say we go streetside and start busting some heads until we get to whoever is leading these cheap shots and deal with it.

Six looks up at Sentry as he walks. ”Dolphins, penguins.. definitely an Atlantean thing.”, he mutters, more to himself than anyone in particular. He then stands up from admiring another piece of V’Sori hardware from his collection, attempting to see if it will work on his armor. He is almost as tall as he is wide. He is the physical embodiment of health and looks as if he can tear the doors off an armored car. He holds out a hand to Sentry. ”VeeSix, or just Six to most everyone. Welcome to the icehouse, Penguin.”

He then takes over watch as until the last of his team gets into the van.

Six was built to take damage from superpowers and heavy weapons, thus his high Toughness and Regeneration, which incidentally, is already at once per hour. I’d be more than happy to lower the Toughness to increase his Regeneration to much faster if needed to balance the combats. My ultimate goal is for him to be someone that keeps coming back, no matter what they dish at him. He may not be able to do too much damage, but he can take it. Remember the V’Sori wanted something that the supervillains couldn’t kill.

Hearing Hellion’s call to arms, Vee Six nearly knocks Fortune over rushing into battle. Quickly surveying the battlefield, he sees Hellion already fighting the leader. He would liked that opportunity, but he knows well enough to not get into the middle of a duel. Instead he chooses the next largest thug and with a glare of menace, runs right towards him, staff powering up. Instead of hitting him with it, Six knows they want to keep a few of them alive, so he leaps up and plants a foot directly into the man’s chest.

Hey DM, I’ve been ill the last couple of days (literally couldn’t see out of one eye), and I don’t usually post on weekends, but to answer your question about Six’s Toughness, Here is how I calculated it.

Standard 2+ Vigor (d12+1/2= 6)=8 + Powers 13= 21 +Brawny and Bruiser 2= 23, +2 Armor =25. I remember us having a discussion about this though and you didn’t want it so high, but I will make the change. I know it’s going to make me a target for rail guns and anti-tank weapons…

Six could sense there was trouble brewing, but so far, there was more posturing than anything. He was tired of it, though, and wanted to end this charade once and for all. He then realized he hadn’t been watching the area, like he was supposed to, especially with Fortune deep in her cards. He glanced around quickly, but he was sure he already missed something.

During the drive over, Six listens to all that Fortune tells them with a piqued interest. This teenage girl could alter reality in ways he never thought possible and all by looking at a peculiar deck of cards. When she finished, he says, ”I think something enough to stun or even prevent most of the thugs from attacking so we can focus on their leader would be nice. He will have the most information, so we should nab him first.”

When they arrive, Six readies himself to leap out of the van if necessary, watching Hellion talk to the leader. As he does so, he sizes him up, seeing what kind of threat he might be.

I don't see a problem with it, other than keeping track of what happens in game terms should we roll that high again.

For me, when I describe damage, unless it does an actual wound, the hit never really struck the target, but it may have hit armor, hit something nearby causing shrapnel to hit them, knocked something into their face, anything to mess up their combat ability but not actually wound them (i.e. Shaken). Where it hits is irrelevant, it just causes enough for them to question their willingness to keep fighting.

I would say that even with Fortune's description of between the legs, she, as a player, didn't call out that she was doing a called shot. In my games, I rule that unless the player calls it out, in game terms it is still a 'torso' shot, no matter the in-story description.

Your way works as well, as it gives you a good way to call out where the target is hit without having to use random hit location tables. I have no problem with doing it that way and I have no compunctions about gory descriptors, I use them myself.

Six watches Hellion have her moment and then storm out. At first he wants to follow her, but decides she’d rather be alone. She knows if there’s trouble, the team is on the other end of the earbud and Rash can get them there in a moment. Six understood her frustration though. This disembodied voice who claimed to be one of the saviors of the world against the V’Sori and yet there were numerous sites that contained many more of them just hiding out, waiting to cause trouble and he seems to think that he can just continue to tell people what to do. Six squeezes a bit too hard on a piece of equipment, breaking it. ”Take it out of my paycheck.”, he mutters. Six then gets back to focusing on helping Rash with the gear.

Adding a few more bits and bobbles from the crates to his collection, Six returns to the conversation back at base, speaking as if he were talking to them the whole time. ”..and I also think that taking down the leadership will just create a void for others to try and fill up. Six wants to just pick the whole container up and throw it overboard, but he also knows that there may be more of them and he is certain he would be spotted. Not that he minded a good fight now and then. He ponders this as he waits for Rash to figure out if he can do it or not.

Six nearly gets lost among all the containers, trying to find the proverbial needle in a haystack. As he does so, he also doesn’t realize the noise he is making splashing in the water on the ship’s deck.

Stealth 1, Darkness: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 61d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Stealth 2, Darkness: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 61d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

He hopes that he doesn’t attract any undue attention when he gets the call from Fortune that they found the right one. Hearing Hellion, he smiles into the mic. ”If you plan on getting this party started early, we can certainly rip one open together, but I don’t think that’s our goal today.”

Six looks at Hellion in the gloom. ”So, any idea which one of these is ours, or do we start opening them one by one?” Then an idea pops into his head. ”Fortune? You can ‘see’ things right? Can you see into the containers at all?”

Six quickly follows Hellion through, unsure about this whole sneaking around thing, but he tries anyway, not really sure where he is going yet.

Stealth, Darkness: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 61d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
8 for Stealth

Notice, Darkness: 1d8 - 4 ⇒ (4) - 4 = 01d6 - 4 ⇒ (2) - 4 = -2
I don’t see nuthin’

Six, who almost never tires, sees that the rest of the crew are pretty much ready to go. He tests his armor’s straps and his weapon and nods at them. ”I will be practicing until it is time to go.” He takes a snack from the fridge and chows on it as he heads to the practice area.

As a GM, I would allow this, though it seems quite debilitating for someone whose main power is being able to teleport. I would say something along the lines of losing a die type of Focus in order to make the Traverse portion less powerful or assign a larger penalty, or even just remove the Traverse part and only allow the normal 48” range until the device is done being used.

”Fair enough, but that’s probably a project for another time. We have actionable knowledge now. Let’s get to that boat, see if we need to send some stuff overboard and then get back. If it gets to the docks, we may have more than just the crew of the ship to contend with.”

Six is ready to get to the ship and intercept it before it makes dock.

Raising an eyebrow, Six says, ”That is convenient, but if things go sideways, could you get us out of there just as easily?”

Six nods at Hellion. ”Agreed, a small hit on their supply chain will give us more information and send them a message at the same time with less chances of hitting their full defenses head on. As Fortune says though, we don’t know where the action is taking place.”

Do we not want them to know we’re coming? Isn’t that the point? Pushing in to their territory will have them need to take a pause and re-evaluate their plans, let alone the chaos it will cause when they find out there is push back. We can take steps to clear out the innocent before the assault if necessary, but that will give them a message sooner than we might want.” He pauses. ”We bust some heads and get some answers and when they come down on the locals, we will have the law on our side. Protecting the innocent and all that.”

Agree with Rashomon. At an ideal table, 3 of 5 would be best, but PbP makes it difficult to keep that up. Unless we want to designate a caller for the team, a la old school DnD.

When the crew converses during a free moment, Six offers, ”Perhaps we need to have a nice long talk with one of these ‘enforcers’. Get the shipment information and see what we can do about it.”

Six takes up point across the street from the alley in a local eatery. He is easily within running distance and will be able to reach the others if needed, he decides. He finds a suitable place to sit for a while and keeps watch.

If it’s a few hours of Networking, perhaps sum it up in a few sentences. If something bad happens due to Fortune’s roll, you can always stop the narration and start the action with the rest jumping in.
