Heres my ninja made a profile like you wanted though he went a name change.
Seeing that Ravboom is right Varius decides its best to leave also. He quietly slips into the shadows and disappears into the background heading out of sight.
Seeing the commotion and not wanting to take part of a fight Varius steps in. First he approaches Thim and Alina. "No need for any magic Thim. The goblin's friendly... He glances at Ravboom. "well for a goblin at least." Then he goes to Lars. Goblin:
"Put your axe down. There is no need for a fight and this is hardly a place for one either." He motions around at the others and the villagers.Then Eugeni speaks and proceeds to cause more trouble. gods it's getting out of hand pretty fast.
Varius watches Lars performance as he thinks of a way to explain nervous.
Goblin: "It's like scared of being around something. In this case, a masked man spinning axes near them.
As Lars begins thrusting his axes he glances at Alina. "I did not tell him to do this." Then as he motions to Lars to put his arms down. Goblin:
"I think it would be best to not do that its making some of the others nervous." Once Lars seems settled he speaks again. Goblin:
"You do seem to posses skill with the axes and I'm sure those goblins that got away were only lucky to have done so. As for magic, it just takes lots of study and practice to do so. Not everyone can handle it though. He then turns to the rest. "He doesn't mean any harm."
Varius doesn't change his expression as Thim does his little trick. "That is also true, but be careful not to underestimate thieves." Varius' usually happy demeanor is replaced briefly with sadness as he thinks about his adoptive father. "They took something from me that i can never get back." Varius then shakes off the sad memory and once again gains his friendly demeanor back. He then turns to Lars.
goblin: "He is a wizard of somesorts. Him and the others used little tricks they learned to show off their powers and to make the stories more interesting."
Varius joins them at the jewelry stand. He eyes the wares and of those the others pick up. Might be worth making a mental note of those. They could provide me some quick coin in the future. "Lars here just asked if you can speak goblin, but from your confused look I guess you can't." Varius picks up a piece of jewelry. "I never been a fan of wearing jewelery. To me it just marks you as someone that is worth robbing to thieves."
"Well greetings Thim, and you too Moninga." Varius looks down at the lizard thing. "If you don't mind me asking what kind of animal is your friend here?" He watches as Eagle begins talking to it.
Varius tags along with Eagle offering to pay for the ales and gets one for himself. Hopefully she had time to figure out I'm not trying to harm her. Varius smiles as he approaches Alina and another traveler. "Hello again Alina. I hope you still don't think I mean you any harm." Looking at the young man. "Hello there. My names Varius. What may I call you?"
Hahaha. pretty much. still going from a friendly stranger to conspiring to hurt me is a pretty big jump to make. especially considering i tried to help her before hand.
I'd say i was hoping she'd try it on me i wanted to use my feat if i failed. I still cant figure out how in that one moment i became an enemy.
Varius nods at Eagles words. "Doesn't sound too much different than talking to people. I'd love to see how it works. I've never seen anyone speak with a butterfly before. Well had the butterfly understand him."
Chuckling at Lars he adresses the wizard. "Lars here wasn't raised by them he grew up observing them. I guess with all that time Goblin seemed more natural." Kind of sounds like what the old man taught me. Immersion and observation are the best way to learn how to act like natives. But for Lars, I guess it wasn't intentional. "Oh, he says maybe you were raised by butterflies." The last sentence leaves a smile on his face.
Yeah its kind of fun being the only one that can speak to lars right now(except for Eugeni and RavBoom). it makes some good rp. just wish i had a computer to type on instead right now.
Varius turns to Lars.
Goblin:
"I believe its the fact that you speak Goblin better than common." Varius looks intrigued at Eagles words. "Did you say speak to a butterfly? How does one do that? Do they speak a certain language?"
Goblin:
"It's a holy place where one goes to worship his or her god. And the names Varius." Varius thinks a bit before answering. "No I'm just a traveler looking for adventure and a little bit of treasure."
Seeing Eagle's confusion Varius speaks up. "His names Lars but I've heard some locals call him "Watcher". He prefers to speak Goblin and seems more fluent in it than common." He waves as Lars approaches.
Goblin: "Good to see you so soon. This is Eagle Eye, we are off to check out the Cathedral. Care to join us? And what happened with Alina?"
Count me in for a little over 20
"I'd gladly join you In have yet to see the Cathedral yet myself."
"I find it's a good way to meet the locals and learn about the area. Its also a fine way to meet new people like yourself and share stories of past exploits." Varius smiles. "It's also a great time to try out the local foods and drinks as everyone would have put out their best wares for today."
yeah that happens a lot in pbp. conversations are hard to get over quickly. i happen to have free time at work a lot so i tend to be able to respond quickly.
"I came here simply by chance. I arrived a few days ago and decided to stay upon hearing of the festival." Varius turns to Kala. "I'm sorry to hear of your loss. I also lost someone close to me awhile back. It's what motivated me to travel." Varius shows genuine sadness as he remembers his old teacher. That and the fact the town would have gladly hanged me for his death. "Enough about death we should focus on enjoying life on this fine day at this fine festival."
goblin:
"I would join you but she Appears to still mistrust me. It would be best for me to avoid her until she calms down. perhaps you could try to explain what was going on but I hope to see you later "Friend"." Varius smiles at them as they go off.
Varius shows signs of frustration. "I have no doubt that you could. But forgive me for saying but you tend to jump to wrong conclusions quite quickly, and I have learned from experience that can be deadly no matter who does it. I just simply wised to convey some things i learned the hard way in my travels." If I wanted her harmed it would already be done. Why is it every time I try to do something nice it backfires? "I'm sorry if you still don't trust me but I've told you the truth." "This is the reason I learn other languages." Varius sighs.
goblin:
Varius uses a more serious tone than usaual."If you could not throw your axe again I would greatly appreciate it. Alina here seems to think you are angry at her and that I'm edging you on." Turning toward Alina again. I should tell her what i said to avoid any more of a misunderstanding. "I've explained to him whats going on, and asked him to stop throwing the axe."
observing the new arrival.
Varius suppresses a smile as he speaks. "I assure you I don't intend to cause you harm or does this man. He simply asked for what reason we were shooting at apples and I guess he wanted to give it a try." Gods, she is bound to get in a whole lot of trouble if she keeps misunderstanding everything like this. "I give you my word I am not trying to harm you in fact I'm trying to do just the opposite. Theses misunderstandings might get you killed someday in the future and I would hate for the world to lose such a beautiful creature as yourself over something so trivial."
Goblin: "It was a contest. One in which I have lost but fun nonetheless. So you are the one the locals call "Watcher". What reason do you wear the mask?"
"I meant no offense. It's just that some people may be offened by being called a performer. They may think you are mocking them and I'd hate to see you get into a fight over such misunderstandings." He gives a slight apologetic bow. "If you don't mind me asking how long were you traveling before arriving here?"
Varius watches the strange man join the group.
Varius then takes his bow and begins his turn.
"It appears luck is not with me today." Varius' pride is hurt but he shrugs it off. He then approaches the watcher. He seems to live up to his name. Varius thinks as he get looked over by the strange man. He addresses Alina. "I believe it would be wise to not jump to conclousions like before. I do believen this man is not a performer despite his look." This girl should be more careful. She seems naive about a lot of things. Goblin: "I believe the pretty lady thought you a performer with your style of dress. My names Varius and I'm a traveler. Nice to meet you."
"I am sad to say I haven't had a chance to learn any of those languages." Varius takes out his bow and prepares it for his turn. "Perhaps sometime in the future you could teach me them. I found that armed with knowledge, you can avoid unnecessary fights or settle them quickly." Varius plucks his bow string as if making a point.
Varisian: "So it seems. I would've never guessed. I picked it up in my travels. My father used to tell me "Speak in a language one understands, speak to their head. Speak in their native language, speak to their heart.""
It would appear Alina has some secrets also. Well it'll probably be best to let them be for now. "So you also decided to take on the life of a wanderer? In my opinion it's a fine life as you never know what adventures you will find." Varius then turns to the Varisian man. "I've met a few Varisian groups in my travels here and I Agree with you. They are a fine and friendly group of people and do become scapegoats for others." Varius thinks back. I'm guilty for using such a tatic myself. Upon Eugeni's request. "I wouldn't mind to test my skills. And it does seem like it could be fun" Varius looks over to the others. "Anyone else uo for some friendly competition?"
"I did not mean to start a disscusion on how best to kill wizards. I simple meant to point out, like all things, they have a weakness. I meant no offense or disrespect to you or your guild." Varius bows slightly as he says this. "As for me I'm simply a traveler looking for adventure." Varius turns towards the girl he offered a drink and with a warm smile. "I'm sorry it appears I let the chance of conversation get the better of me." He moves his eyes towards furry man but keeps a friendly look on his face. "It would appear Eugeni has beaten me to supplying you with a drink." Varius shows a sign of embarrassment on his face. "Ahh! where's my manners? I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Varius, a simple traveler, answering the call of adventure." He bows slightly and has a apologetic look on his face. "I hope you can forgive my rudeness for using your name before I even gave you mine."
Joining the conversation. "The goblin has a point. As powerful as wizards are they rely on magic. So if you can strike before they can cast any they fall easy."
Varius feeling that the woman didn't mean what she said, and knowing how hard it can be adjusting to a new setting, If you haven't been trained to do so, once again speaks up. " I'm sure she didn't mean anything by it and try to look at it from her view. Goblins aren't commonly seen roaming cities and I have to say I haven't seen anyone like you before sir. So image her shock as she shes both in a new town she just arrived in" Varius gives a polite smile as addresses both.
He turns towards the woman. "Perhaps you would like to join in for a drink. Ravboom was kind enough to tell me where we can acquire some." Varius slightly bows as he extends a hand.
Varius shows and amused smile as he watches all the commotion. He takes mental notes on the way people are acting to the goblin and furry man. It seems I was wrong in thinking seeing things like this was common in this town. Varius walks up to the goblin and woman having overheard them. Goblin:
"I think she mistook you as a kid in a costume. A goblin and that Fury man aren't common sights in other towns. So i can see why she would draw that conclusion." He then turns towards the woman with a smirk. "It would appear it isn't a costume and i think it would be most wise to give him some space before he makes good on his threat.
Varius smiles.
Goblin: "Thank you. You seem to like fire a lot."
Varius turns toward the Goblin.
Goblin: "Ahh, thank you, I'm fine now but will keep in mind for later."
Varius always liked festivals he remembered attending some before he met the old man. The difference is back then he was looking for easy marks and vendor careless with their wares. When he was adoptive the town he moved into didn't have many festivals and those that he did attend he never felt very welcome. Varius felt his stomach rumble. Guess it time I get something to eat. he approaches the venison cart but keeps his ears and eyes open to his surroundings like his mentor taught him.
Varius smiles at the group as he approaches."I'd take a few Venison strips please." The sight of the furry man and goblin were unusual but Varius hid any sign that he sought so from his face.

Devin was born to a poor woman. His father left long before he was born. His mother could barely make enough to feed herself. She and Devin were forced to steal food to survive. As he got older he started to steal more valuable items and he started to gain a reputation. Even with his reputation no one ever caught him. When he entered his early teens he left home to try to make a better living as an adventurer.
