"I'm not eager to go there, but we haven't found Jacra or that spell book of hers yet. And I think the graveyard is the only place we haven't looked. I hate having gone through the trouble of coming here just to return empty handed." Ernie chews on his lip pensively. "But maybe we're best off leaving while we still can. I'm not going to ask anyone to risk their lives further."

We don't know what happened to Jacra yet, or found her spell book. I believe those are the main objectives we were supposed to accomplish.

Ernie takes out his extratonator and the medical tools inside and also helps with stitching up wounds.

Ernie can also assist with healing, both with Treat Wounds but also with Searing Restoration. Just like using a focus spell, he just needs to spend 10 minutes retuning his innovation whenever it breaks.

Ernie is alarmed when he sees how sick Gregoth is looking. "This man needs medical attention, but perhaps most importantly he is going to need a safe place to rest. Lets grab everything valuable we found and get out of here."

We should also see if that survivor made it through the night.

When Ernie has 8 hours to devote to Gregoth, he can try to Treat Disease.

Ernie is going to use his ability as a Medic to use Battle Medicine on an immune ally to heal Gregoth.

Ernie moves up to Gregoth and starts stitching up the wounded warrior.

The spool holding the stitching thread tangles up and fails to close up any of Gregoth's wounds. Cursing, Ernie steps up to the door and swings at the husk zombie in the doorway.

It still seems worth it, but if Gregoth objects to risking the splash damage, then Ernie wont throw it. I'm banking on a guess that a horde might have a weakness to splash damage.

I wish that it was a good idea to throw that alchemist fire, but I think the splash would hit all of us.

Ernie shoves some of the zombies back with a kick and ends up with some bruising instead of being crushed by their weight. His blade lets out a gust of steam as he starts it up and starts slashing through the pack.

Once Ernie is up, he will start with spending 10 minutes retuning his instrument. He can Treat Wounds, but it sounds like someone else can cover that while so that Ernie can concentrate on barricading those windows.

The healing bit is helpful, but Ernie is a freakin' inventor, so it makes sense for him to concentrate on fortifications. He does lose some minor benefits when he gets divine healing, but I think its a worthwhile sacrifice at this point in the night.

Ernie moves along the wall until he is flanking one of the big zombies with Gregoth. His blade whirrels and sputters steam as he attempts to carve the behemoth up like a Harvest festival turkey.

"Gregoth, I recognize that you are understandably worried about dying of fire and smoke, but that is why we have these big barrels of water here," Ernie says, slapping the side of one of the barrels.

Ernie smiles when he sees Gregoth come in to help him reinforce the stairs.

"Its going to be hard for them to get up that stairwell and they're going to have a nasty surprise if they try."

I'll stick with my original plan, and then fortify any remaining windows. If there is still more time, I think we should do something with the rest of the oil that we have. Those books could also be used as fuel.

"I hate the idea of burning books, but we could make a trap by piling them up somewhere and coating them in oil."

Ernie coats the staircase in the west room with the sticky burning tar, then covers as much of the floor around the base of that staircase with the rest of the tar. After this, he blocks the staircase with the furniture found downstairs and then douses the makeshift barricade with oil. And for the final piece, he carefully places one of the alchemist's fire flasks so that if the barricade is messed with it will get crushed by the shifting furniture.

He giggles maniacally as he pours oil all over one of the sofas found downstairs.

He would also want to make sure that those barrels of water are upstairs as well.

Once he's finished barricading the stairs and turning it into a fire trap, he starts barricading the windows in the central room with wood planks. Ernie makes sure to leave so small gaps that are just large enough to fire a bow or drop a flask of oil through.

We do have the maps of the locations we had encounters in and I actually think Warland's Yard might be easier to fortify. Or...another option might be to destroy/barricade the stairs in the manor and make our stand on the top floor.

"Hmmm...I remember that we found some oil. We could make some fires that would give us visibility when they start swarming the walls, or we could jury rig some kind of trap with it."

Ernie looks up at the sky and tries to make a quick guess at how much time they have before night catches up to them. "We don't want to be like the others; all things equal we'd like to be alive like you tomorrow morning. Maybe you could give some tips about what you're doing right to still be alive?"

Ernie opens up his shirt to expose his chest. "Look at me carefully. Do you see the see how my chest rises and falls as I breathe? The dead don't do that. And look at our eyes. Nice and bright. There is none of the clouding that happens upon death. And look, when I pinch my skin it turns white, then the pink returns when I release it. That shows that blood is flowing through my body." Ernie wiggles his arms and does a little jig. "Doesn't look like rigor mortis has set in yet either."

Ernie pulls some levers on the autodoc and the weapon begins to hum and emit a cloud of steam as the prongs and blades spin rapidly. "Gregoth, this is going to sting a bit!" he warns before applying the smoking tool to his wounds.
