Then why not change the wording to something that makes more sense, like;

Benefit: When you gain a level in a favored class, you may gain +1 Hit Point and +1 Skill Rank, or you can choose an alternate class reward.
Normal: When you gain a level in a favored class, you may choose 1 hit point, 1 skill rank, or an alternate class reward.

That makes it much simpler and explains the intent of the feat without much confusion.

Yikes. That's messy. At least the current version is cleaner.

I agree that the wording is messy, but the intent is very clear.

I'd say Woodland Stride is the scariest thing about Druids.

CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATOR AT CAMPSITE:

"Well from the looks of the state of the camp, the mutilated bodies, the claw marks, the bite marks on the wagons, and the shape of the burst marks on the tents and trees, it seems like these campers were ripped apart and crushed to death by the biggest Allosaurus I've ever seen."

"But there are no tracks...."

"Oh god, why is it so quiet?!"

"IT COULD BE ANYWHERE! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!"

Then again, if you were an experienced CSI in a fantasy forest and you noticed there were no tracks to speak of around the crime scene, your list of suspects would be reduced dramatically.

Round up the Usual Druids!!

Good luck finding them.

Start a forest fire, that should round them all up in a blaze.

Actually, they are restricted. They only do damage on a grapple check. And I don't think anyone will argue that you cannot make an AoO on someone while in a grapple.

I'd say the attempt to use Armor Spikes outside those specific boundaries set in the rules is definitive justification for Munchkin comments. That's what a munchkin is.

Yes, it's unhelpful. Yes, it's mean. But it's also truth. The fact that it's been FAQ'd and still argued about lends further credence.

Houserule it or live with it.

EDIT: Ninja'd by Nicos!

Well, Mark does call out light weapons requiring limbs to be wielded, so let's roll with that for these examples;
Spiked Gauntlet/Cestus: Requires a hand
Boot Spike: Requires a foot, and is a limb
Dwarven Boulder Helmet: Requires a head, might not "technically" be a limb, but let's try to use common sense and say wearing it means you're wielding it
and finally, for the armor spikes which seem to confuse lots of people, your arms and legs both count as limbs, and if you can use an elbow or knee for an unarmed strike(legal), then having armor spikes on your knees or elbows count, and meet the "requires a limb" prerequisite. Now that I think about it, you can use a headbutt for an unarmed strike as well, so there's the solution for the boulder helmet.
Try not the limit yourselves to hands only when thinking of how you can attack an enemy, otherwise threads like this arise, and things get, well...out of hand. Anyway, hope this helps.

I just reread the newer version of Drugs.

They are Alchemical.

That is some weird science.

So, magic Cocaine huh?

Poisons are pretty nuts, too. A fatal dose of hemlock being more expensive than masterwork full plate, for example.

Imagine Assassins in Pathfinder being able to take out PCs because they grew some weeds and put it in their stew.

... Way to take the "high road" there after committing to it so much already.

Guarded Life (Ex)

Benefit: While raging, if the barbarian is reduced below 0 hit points, 1 hit point of lethal damage per barbarian level is converted to nonlethal damage. If the barbarian is at negative hit points due to lethal damage, she immediately stabilizes.

Alright, let's try using the SRD definition. WHen at 0 or below, any time you would take hitpoint damage convert your barbarian level in damage to nonlethal damage. For Greater Guarded Life, it's twice this. That means twice your level in damage is converted to nonlethal damage. And of course your DR is doubled vs lethal damage. Once converted, it is no longer apart of the same attack, because this is a rule that is not unless it says it is, much like a spell ends after you cast it unless it says it doesn't. This is crucial, as it allows your DR to apply to the remaining lethal damage.

Pay close attention to the wording here. notice how it says reduced below 0 hit points. now watch me re-word it to fit your theory:

Benefit: While raging and at or below 0 hit points etc...
You take the damage first, then if it is enough to reduce you below 0 hit points, you start converting. Don't put the Wagon before the Horse.

This has been discussed in my group many a times, but we still haven't come to a decision, and I can't find any threads that have a definitive answer, so I create this thread for the purposes of trying to get an FAQ thread going.

Anyways...
If a Character has no levels of Fighter, and puts on a Sash of the War Champion, does he increase his effective Fighter level to 4 for the purposes of Bravery and Armor Training? what about Robes of Arcane Heritage? Or Silver Smite Bracelets? Necklace of Ki Serenity?

Or does that same Character have to have at least 1 level in said Class to gain the benefits of said item? Monks Robes are another similar item, but they specifically say"If the character has no levels in Monk, they're treated as a 5th level monk for the purposes of their unarmed damage and AC bonus", while none of the other items call that out. and yet the APG says "Any creature can use a wondrous item(unless specified otherwise in the description, such as requiring a particular class feature)", yet none of the 1st 4 items listed say they require a class feature in their description, only that they increase your effective level in that class for the purposes of those class features.

It's my understanding from that wording that the former argument would be correct based on what I have seen so far, and is supplemented by a few items that actually require certain class features, such as the Ring of Revelation, Boots of Friendly Terrain, Bracelet of Mercy, and the Helm of Fearsome Mien.

I've presented as much info as I can think of right now to try and have this properly, feel free to contribute, but for now, I press the FAQ button.

FAQ'd. It'd be nice to know if I've been doing it wrong or not in my home games, even though this issue hasn't come up in any of our campaigns yet.

First off, as the eternal optimist, you should never EVER think about giving up hope, second off, followers of Desna love to travel, to see new sights each day, and find locales unheard of but often dreamed of. You also should have the desire to live your life the way you want to, paying no attention to bossy people. Don't be afraid to encourage others to a live of travel, to follow their dreams, and never give in to tyranny, freedom is for everyone, after all.

with the new AP Skull and Shackles coming out, i've been reading up on the places near where the AP will presumably take place. And one of the most striking features of that area of the world is, of course, the Eye of Abendego.

what I think I know about the Eye - it formed at the same time Aroden died. it's a permanent storm. nobody's been to the center of the storm, or if they have they kept quiet about it. there's rumors of at least one ship found floating out of the Eye intact but missing it's crew, and the ship being relatively pristine despite being almost a century old.

questions:

*why* did the Eye form? was something in that area intimately connected to Aroden? or was Aroden himself in that area when he died? If the Eye formed when Aroden died, maybe it formed around the place where he died as well...if so, could the Eye be protecting Aroden's corpse?

what was in the center of the Eye before that storm kicked off? What was known about the history of that place prior to Aroden's death?

suppositions:

somehow and for some reason, the Eye is connected to Aroden. either he died there or something intimately connected to him is at the center of the storm, with the storm forming a barrier around it once Aroden died. possible temporal anomolies could be at the center of the Eye, perhaps the center of the storm is a portal to a demi-plane. it seems unlikely that there is any active intelligence behind the Eye of Abendego, which rules out any sort of conspiracy or plot...meaning that if someone could penetrate into the center of that storm, they could plunder its' treasures without consequences (or less consequnces than would be the norm anyways).

thoughts? comments? suggestions?

It's all speculation on anyone's part except for the Devs. Most scholars in Golarion however, believe that Aroden's death is part of what caused the Eye to form/the Worldwound to open.

I'm pretty sure the idea is to give GMs incentive to run an adventure based on the 2 events, and maybe come up with something himself!
