If I am wielding a Reach Weapon in 2 hands and also wearing a weapon(such as Armor Spikes, a Cestus, Spiked Gauntlets etc...) am I able to make an Attack of Opportunity with either weapon? For example, if a foe is 15 feet away, and moves into 1 of my adjacent squares, he provokes an AoO because he moves through my Reach Weapon's threatened area. He then uses an action that would normally provoke an AoO while adjacent to me(sheathe a weapon, cast a spell, shoot a bow etc...), am I able to hit him with an AoO with my worn weapon(a Cestus)? I would assume the answer is yes, and here's why:
Thoughts and FAQs appreciated.
So if I have a human fighter wielding a spiked light steel shield, which treats the shield as 1 size category larger for the purposes of damage rolls with the shield, what happens if that same shield is later enchanted with the bashing special ability? My belief is that the spiked shield is treated as a large shield for the purposes of damage, and the bashing special ability would then treat it as 2 size categories larger than large for the purposes of damage, but there are those people that disagree with me, saying that the 2 effects don't stack. A similar example is a large wolf that takes improved natural attack and has strongjaw cast on it. would that treat the wolf's bite as if it were a colossal creature(3 size categories larger), or gargantuan(2 sizes)? Please help me get this answered, and press the FAQ button, so the matter can be resolved once and for all.
It has come to my attention that there is a flaw in the way the rules for racial archetypes are supposed to work, according to the FAQs responses for both the Racial Heritage feat, and certain "Half-Races" Selecting Racial Archetypes of their parent races: FAQ 1: Racial Heritage FAQ 2: Racial Archetypes Racial Heritage states: which according to FAQ 1, implies that racial archetypes are an effect related to race, even though in FAQ 2 it clearly states that racial archetypes do not count as an "effect". So the question remains; which of these 2 are supposed to be true? please hit the FAQ button on this thread if you'd also like this answered. I know I do. Prerequisite: Human.
Benefit: Choose another humanoid race. You count as both human and that race for any effects related to race. For example, if you choose dwarf, you are considered both a human and a dwarf for the purpose of taking traits, feats, how spells and magic items affect you, and so on.
This has been discussed in my group many a times, but we still haven't come to a decision, and I can't find any threads that have a definitive answer, so I create this thread for the purposes of trying to get an FAQ thread going. Anyways...
Or does that same Character have to have at least 1 level in said Class to gain the benefits of said item? Monks Robes are another similar item, but they specifically say"If the character has no levels in Monk, they're treated as a 5th level monk for the purposes of their unarmed damage and AC bonus", while none of the other items call that out. and yet the APG says "Any creature can use a wondrous item(unless specified otherwise in the description, such as requiring a particular class feature)", yet none of the 1st 4 items listed say they require a class feature in their description, only that they increase your effective level in that class for the purposes of those class features. It's my understanding from that wording that the former argument would be correct based on what I have seen so far, and is supplemented by a few items that actually require certain class features, such as the Ring of Revelation, Boots of Friendly Terrain, Bracelet of Mercy, and the Helm of Fearsome Mien. I've presented as much info as I can think of right now to try and have this properly, feel free to contribute, but for now, I press the FAQ button.
I looked all over this section and couldn't find anything so here's my question:
Does this mean that it:
or B. I choose which class it stacks with, similar to how PrC that grants +1 level of spellcasting makes you choose which class you're adding it to? I ask because the Pathfinder Chronicler came out before there were different classes other than Bard that granted performance, so some clarification would be handy. Either way, please discuss.
My Search-Fu failed me, and I couldn't find the answer in any previous threads, so here goes;
Okay, I know how this works if you're using a ray spell like Ray of Frost, or Disintegrate, since they are single ray, single target spells, but what happens if you're using your Close Range Magus Arcana to channel Scorching Ray through Spellstrike? If it hits, does it only use 1 ray, or all of them at once, or 1 ray per round to a maximum of how many rays you actually have? |
