Wanted to thank everyone for the well wishes, and apologize for stepping down from the game.
On the other hand, I did pick up A Memory of Light to read while flying, and...
For those who haven't read yet, spoilered:
...while I thought that most of the book was very well done, I'm disappointed with the ending. It seems to have left for too much unresolved in my mind. Of course the story of The Dragon is (kind of) ended, and it sums that story up, the story in my mind really went beyond just his story by the end of the novels.
Also forgot there was a character in the novels named Teslyn, that's a bit confusing with my name.
Tesliin - Actually, I think maybe we should release the circle, then you and Alathea can act independantly. Unless you prefer not to, right now. As the major benefit was power of a shield, and we are out of channelling enemies in the current fight. For healing and helping the warriors, we will be more effective independently.
Grim determination overcomes the Aes Sedai's face.
Listen you fools. You may have just cost us everything. But there is a chance. And dont question me about this, just do as your told. You, sister, you are in charge of this. Her hand snaps out, pointing to Tesliin.
Below the mansion, in the second sub-level, is a ter'angreal. One that can harm the Dragon, along with any male channeler. All of you need to go in there and need to secure it. The white tower must have this secured. With this in the hands of the Seanchan, the Dragon is at risk. It's a rod, pale blue in color, made of glass, with 9 hash marks upon it. I know because i was forced to work on this, to make it work. The matron isnt the only one who knows how this works. there are 5 other pairs who worked with me, and all know how to use it. They must be destroyed.
Standing up, she squares her shoulders. Go, now. I fear that should others get this device, all hope will be lost.
Unwilling to break the circle at present, she barely hears the Aes Sedai as she concentrates on the circle. Seeing Litheene tie off the weave, she is surprised as the ball of fire consumes them, though she doesn't let it touch her face. Instead she turns to Ryvin. "It seems we have been commanded to fetch an item. We must get to the second sub-level of the mansion. Do you know of a path?"
Tesliin's face becomes red at the Aes Sedai's words, her timid nature overtaking her. She attempts a meager arguement, though her resistance is fueled more by the other's actions than her own resolve. "Perhaps a short delay may be wise, the nearby events may prove too great a distraction."
A'Mar:
After the pain, you sense shame and humiliation, along with nervousness and a touch of anger, flow through the bond.
We are on round 6 now, right? If so, Tesliin will help maintain the circle.
"Better for him to leave, more flexibility in my actions. Though I worry for him." Tesliin spares little immediate thought to the asha'man, instead focusing on the circle.
Just a heads up that my PC decided to stop operating as normal today. I hope to get it up and running over the weekend (not 100% sure what's wrong, but I have a friend who knows abit). It should only minimally impact the games I play in, as I can post from my iPad (just takes longer to draft a post). Just wanted to give a heads up on it.
Tesliin attempts a new tactic, sending out weaves of air, attempting to encase the matron and her sul'dam in the weaves, though leaving an opening enough to prevent suffocation.
Don't have my book at present (at work), so I'll use whatever level weave is required.
Okay, not going to lie, was a little at a loss at how the shielding was working. I think I understand it now, but another problem.
In your version, Rizzen, you had us roll concentration into composure. Are they separate now and I just missed that? Because if so, Tesliin has no ranks in it. Just need to know how to go from here.
"I would push for the release of a fellow sister given this opportunity. I fear for Mistress Tiendre, but I believe it's better to handle them now where we know their location, rather than turn our backs to give them the advantage."
And I just finished catching up through both threads. I really want to apologize for letting this go for so long. I can try to make excuses, but to be honest there just isn't a good one (well, without lying, and Aes Sedai can't do that). I just haven't managed to set aside the time to fully read what's happened.
Looks like about to have a fight, it would seem. I'll go over my weave list next to see what I should have left at this point.
It would appear that between my work trip and Gencon that I completely allowed this game to slip through the cracks. I apologize for this entirely. When I have a chance I'll get caught back up on things. I apologize once again.
"We have been here for three days as of now." Questions bubble inside Tesliin, though she maintains an outer appearance of calm, A'Mar knowing the truth through the bond.
Jasmine smiles warmly back at her sister and says It is a pleasure Tesliin. This is my warder Jed. We were happy to be of assistance. So what brings you to Cairhien?
"I would gladly inform you, though I believe that may be best discussed behind closed doors. I would hope to hear your own tale as well."
A feeling of relief washes over Tesliin as fellow Aes Sedai emerge from the building, though she allows nothing to show on her face. Though hard to tell, she becomes more subdued in the presence of other Aes Sedai as well. "Thank you for the assistance, Jasmine Sedai. Without your aid, it may well have been difficult in handling this incident. I am Tesliin Sedai, also of the Green Ajah. And this is my warder, A'Mar."
Tesliin stands about 5'3", black hair down to midback with dark colored eyes, Saldaen features. She dresses in the Saldaen style, a long sleeved and necked dress also green in color with a hint of yellow.
Just giving you a heads-up that at the end of this month (July 31), I'll be leaving town for two weeks for work. I don't know the status of an available internet connection while I'll be gone, or how much free time I'll have, but I'll post as able.
After that, I'll only be back for a day before heading to Gencon afterwards, getting back home late the 19th. So between those two dates I'll be sporadic at best, possibly unavailable. Sorry for any inconveniences this may impose.
Irritation flowing through her at Joliar's words, she doesn't allow it to appear outwardly. "He is right, though""Stand down. We have just arrived as well and have no quarrel with you." The words are meant for A'Mar as well as the Children.
Tesliin looks to see where the voice came from, looking to see if there's a backway to get to the shop. "The source is coming from that building. Do you still feel anything?" She speaks in a hushed tone to Joliar, so as to not let others hear.
I assume you mean Saidar, or is there something I should know about?
Tesliin takes a moment to embrace the source, realizing there's not much to be done now, while seeking the source she felt. "Joliar, unless you can still feel something, this way."
A surge of concern flows through Tesliin, who notes Joliar moving the direction she felt Saidar. She resists embracing the source immediately, trying to avoid drawing attention to herself directly. Following the Asha'man, she asks "Did you see something this direction?"
Joliar shrugs as he pretends to eye the wares around him. I say we spring it and find out. Better the trap we know than one we don't.
"I had hoped you would agree. Better to end these things when we can. And since we are here, we can find you an outfit for this evening. Best to appear as though expecting a dinner party, after all."
Having left Selee, Tesliin makes to head towards the market, as though to do some shopping. Stopping at any stall where she believes she might not be overheard, she beckons Joliar to speak with her, as though to look at what she is looking at.
I expect A'mar would already be close enough to hear.
"So this trap that we are expected at tonight. What are your feelings about it?"
"Of course. I shall meet you tonight, Selee." A'mar feels a tinge of anger, and resignation, flow through the bond as Tesliin takes her leave of the woman, returning not to the inn, but rather to the markets.
Perception (to see if anyone is following):1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Tesliin turns and gives Joliar a sharp look, then turns back to Selee. "I will gladly join you for dinner tonight. Though I would rather dine elsewhere this evening. Did you perchance have a recommendation?"
"Yes, but reveal to who? You nearly faint at the sight of an Aes Sedai, what would happen if those who meant you harm were to take you. For your own safety, and for your lord, the less you know the better." Tesliin allows herself to soften, if only so slightly. "If you should know anything you think may be useful, let it be known, only so I know how much danger you and your lord may be in."
