Understood

Thorn returns the common response to the blessing with a nod of her head as she takes her first pull of ale, listening to Allairdra speak. Her opinion of the woman goes up markedly at her association with the near legendary Halocyun The unerring.

Knowledge Local: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22

Thorn follows through on her promise to help Nicenzia with her elven as they travel, finding the petite sorceress to be a rather quick study.

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15

In the bar.
Relatively silent, as is often her habit, the ranger takes in everything around her letting the rest of the company answer the questions since she was the newest member. She felt an unusual ease here, likely the blend of elven and human details that resonated with her. It made sense she supposed. She cocks her head as Allairdra banters with the new arrival, smiling quietly.

"When you have a moment I'd like an ale please." she says once their host turns her attention back to the seated group.

Woefully lost, gonna try to get caught up

That's one way of looking at things.

"I believe one of the other teams mentioned something about encountering hobgoblins as well." Thorn mentions, recalling the chatter around the headquarters. "It's beginning to sound a bit like an invasion."

"I can help you with that part." Thorn adds.

Congrats on your daughter's wedding. Glad to hear your mon's okay and recovering.

"Sure." Thorn says showing Aurelain the journal.

Thorn follows the dead man's likely path, seeing the well made (bag?) hidden in the tree.

Climb: 1d20 ⇒ 16

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27 29 if related to humans
1d10 ⇒ 3

As good a day as any other I suppose.

Happy holidays everyone

Thorn fires on the next nearest of the standing zombies.

Masterwork Longbow: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Thorn likewise readies a shot at the first sign of an actual threat.

Thorn unslings her bow, keeping her eyes on the potential threats.

"There are four figures in the woodline over there, and I smell something....dead." Thorn says glancing in that direction.

"Fruits, grains, and vegetables preferably, though small rodents will do in if necessary." Thorn answers.

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28 30 if involving humans

Knowledge Nature (Elven Crows): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16

"We'll guess we might as well get ourselves situated." Thorn suggests, hefting her pack.

Thorn smiles at Swen's taunt, taking in the caravan they'd likely be joining.

Cool

"Rwy'n ei siarad yn rhugl mewn gwirionedd" Thorn says with a grin, speaking in the flowing tones of elvish.

After a moment she translates, with a smile "I speak it fluently actually,"

"Nothing that o can think of." Thorn says, smiling as she watches the other two women effortlessly flirt with each other.

"They're very intelligent, and can be easily trained....if they feel like it. 'Elven' ravens can be very ornery." Thorn adds.

Hanging back with the other women as the others head off to negotiate passage with a caravan, Thorn notes the whistle that draws Swen's attention, studying both the caged songbirds and the larger ones.

Knowledge Nature: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17

"It would make sense to go with a caravan." Thorn agrees.

Amed accepts the offer to eat dinner at the Captain's table (and all it entails). Hmm, thinks the magus, and here I thought this voyage would be boring. Could lead to less work as well.

Not with that kinda performance, lol

Int: 1d20 ⇒ 2
Int: 1d20 ⇒ 3
Int: 1d20 ⇒ 6
Int: 1d20 ⇒ 5

Definitely not the brightest bulb

Int: 1d20 ⇒ 9 WTF??

Thorn looks around the bunk room, then sets down her gear.

Thorn isn't averse to a little hard work

"Works fine for me." Thorn says in response to Aurelain's question.

"Hmm.. wherever they were last, the ship dealt with quite a few unfriendly individuals." Thorn says looking at the ship. "See all the holes caused by ether arrows or bolts recently removed."

[Ooc]I'm pretty sure you just wished him to drown. Lol[/b]

Thorn suppresses a smile as Ahmed draws their attention to the ship the she and Aurelain, (the most cheerful half orc she'd ever met) had already found.

The mention of the captain's likely mood promising that things would definitely not be boring.

Thorn scans the area for the boat mentioned, still getting used to her companions.

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28

"Uhm...I...suppose that's okay. If you want to learn Elven, I don't mind. It isn't the easiest language though." she replies in a friendly, albeit reserved tone.

As she overhears bits of the other conversations going on, the ranger is forced to wonder what she'd gotten herself into. It seemed as if members of the group couldn't even trust each other, while others seemed close.

"Uhm...well met Amed Alsaakhib-Alraed. I'm Thorn, Thorn Blackleaf." she says shaking his hand in greeting after an awkward moment.

Thorn follows along, quietly getting a feel for the group dynamic.

The little shudder from Nicenzia as she considers riding a horse makes it clear to Thorn that going by horse would be nothing but suffering for the sorceress.

"Then I would definitely recommend we go by boat....unless you'd prefer being unable to sit for about a week." she says with a rye smile.

"How accustomed are the rest of you to horseback? It looks to be a long hard ride if we select that option." Thorn asks the others after the meeting concludes.

"It's the reason I'm here, so I'm all for it." Thorn chimes in, still not quite comfortable with her new companions.

Thorn turns to look at the other two members of the company, to see what their opinions are on the matter.

Translation: "You cheap mother$%^$@!"

"I think that may be part of why I'm here actually, Nicenza." Thorn chimes in. "My father was from Kyonin, Though I've never met him, it seems my uncle, Tamrinil believes hat having me with you will help in dealing with Kyonin's borders. I suppose we'll find out for sure when we get there."

"Nice to meet you Amed." Thorn replies with a nod. Turning back to the chest, she translates the inscription as the smarmy little man explains the significance.

""when the handmaiden has strayed its furthest from the Celene's sight, The Keeper speaks the Word near Man's Great Stone Scar in the Tinklingice mist of the home of Shandereth. That which has been forgotten will be revealed May the makers protect us."

"Uhm...I don't know her really....I haven't actually met her." Thorn replies awkwardly. "Nice to meet you Aurelain the golden."

"Your friend Ramona got called back by the commander to assist with something. Tamrinil commissioned me to the Shields and sent me to join you all. He said you might need someone with knowledge of elves and elven culture." Thorn answers. "My name is Thorn, Thorn Blackleaf"

I meant to post as Thorn, sorry

Thorn takes a look at the inscription to see f she can identify the language.

I only speak common and Elven

Thorn rolls her eyes at the distasteful little man who leered at her, glad to see him walking away instead of toward her.

"Uhm...yes!" Thorn answers, "There's supposed to be a small group meeting with someone here, could you show me to them?" she asks quietly, returning the smile.

Accepting the armband, Thorn gives Tamrinil a nod. "Thank you, I'll head there now.....uncle." she says awkwardly, before turning to head to the stables...something that was always easy to find for anyone with a decent sense of smell.
