Absolutely love the new system. Every time I played everyone was enjoying the new system and play went smooth. Monk is everything I wanted it to be. Resonance is less obnoxious than I expected.

I played three 5 hr sessions and each time liked the new game better. I am not saying I dont have quibbles but everything that seemed frustrating when reading the rules seemed to work itself out on the table and feel appropriately powered.

I really appreciate the work that went into this and wanted to express the overwhelming positive views I was seeing from the tables I played with.

The scout background gives you the feat but there it doesnt give you training and it would be possible to select other skills as trained when selecting your class skills.

And my reading of the feat suggests it doesnt work, should it give training?

In our first game we were trying to split up and sneak up on someone. In the new game there doesnt seem to be surprise attacks of any kind.

If someone is attacking from stealth and hasn't been detected do they have to roll initiative to roll the attack roll first? The section about people who were sleeping(page 332) suggested that yes, they would have to roll initiative in order to attack.

Is it confusing to others?

What are the Starfinder Undead traits?

Because in Pathfinder they were the items listed below. But in the AP

monster abilities for the spoiler sensitive:
The void-zombie has both the block "undead traits" and the block "mindless" and none of the other undead have the "mindless" (EX) ability.
Which makes me think that Immunity to mind effecting is no longer a base undead trait.

As found in the PFSRD they wrote:

No Constitution score. Undead use their Charisma score in place of their Constitution score when calculating hit points, Fortitude saves, and any special ability that relies on Constitution (such as when calculating a breath weapon’s DC).

Darkvision 60 feet.
Immunity to all mind-affecting effects (charms, compulsions, morale effects, patterns, and phantasms).
Immunity to death effects, disease, paralysis, poison, sleep effects, and stunning.
Not subject to nonlethal damage, ability drain, or energy drain. Immune to damage to its physical ability scores (Constitution, Dexterity, and Strength), as well as to exhaustion and fatigue effects.
Cannot heal damage on its own if it has no Intelligence score, although it can be healed. Negative energy (such as an inflict spell) can heal undead creatures. The fast healing special quality works regardless of the creature’s Intelligence score.
Immunity to any effect that requires a Fortitude save (unless the effect also works on objects or is harmless).
Not at risk of death from massive damage, but is immediately destroyed when reduced to 0 hit points.
Not affected by raise dead and reincarnate spells or abilities. Resurrection and true resurrection can affect undead creatures. These spells turn undead creatures back into the living creatures they were before becoming undead.
Proficient with its natural weapons, all simple weapons, and any weapons mentioned in its entry.
Proficient with whatever type of armor (light, medium, or heavy) it is described as wearing, as well as all lighter types. Undead not indicated as wearing armor are not proficient with armor. Undead are proficient with shields if they are proficient with any form of armor.
Undead do not breathe, eat, or sleep.

In my home game our Mystic and our Technomancer just sit and stare out the window during starship combat.

I really really want Paizo to add something for magic players to do during a starship fight. Whether cloaking(10%, 20%, 50% miss chances?) or shutting down the enemy drift drive, or maybe duplicate illusion ships, etc.

I'm writing houserules for my players now but want something more formal if possible.

Anyone else have this issue?

Scarab Sages

Short form:

Can you use Raise Dead to bring someone back to life who has died from a Ghost's corrupting touch?

Situation:

I'm the DM, I can by fiat do well, whatever the players are willing to let me do and still play with me. But for the most part we try to stick with the generic rules because it makes the game "more better".

My player's were exploring below an abandoned gambling den and ran into a ghost, the rogue had been hit with a curse and was rocking a wonderful 4 WIS and decided to gamble with said ghost and further lost 2 CON. At this point the party decided they would fight the ghost. Said ghost rocks a CR7 7d6 corrupting touch and 3d6 sneak attack.

Rogue ends up dead, party flees. We stop for the evening. As they plan how to come back and get their dead companion I mentioned the scroll of raise dead that they found previously to the Rogue and suggest they use it on his old body as soon as they get back in.

He nods and then asks "but doesn't corrupting touch age you? You can't come back from old age...."

And so I'm here asking my question, because I'm not sure if I would rule that raise dead can't bring people back from "supernatural aging" and I want to hear other people's opinions on how they'd rule it or find out if Paizo had already made a ruling that I wasn't able to find while searching google.

At level three using a Elven Curve Blade would a rogue get 1.5xDex to damage like a 2handed str weapon?

the text in question:
Whenever she makes a successful melee attack with the selected weapon, she adds her Dexterity modifier instead of her Strength modifier to the damage roll.
