![]() Syeira glares at the goblin with the firework and it feels a strong sense of dread. "Don't you DARE throw that!" she says, her voice taking on an otherworldly echo. ![]() Could I make a weird request? I'd like to change Syeira's first name...I know the game's already started and I'd have to create a new alias profile, but...well, I just joined a Second Darkness game that has a cartomancer witch in it named Syeira, and I'd like to differentiate my character from them for the purposes of considering all the PbPs I'm in part of a shared Pathfinder universe... ![]()

![]() Seeing Shadow attacking a goblin just in range of her pike, Syeira jabs at it, hoping together the two of them would take at least one of the greedy little nippers out of the fight.
Not used to fighting goblins (or anything, really) the spear head whiffs harmlessly over its head. ![]()

![]() Thanks! At the moment, I'm using Romanian for Varisian. Should we run into abominations I recommend Khmer for Aklo, and if we see ancient ruins, Tajik for Thassilonian...My friend and GM Dragoncat has done this in a lot of his games and I find it makes for an immersive game! ![]()

![]() Syeira puts her Harrow Deck back in the case and grabs her spear off her back. "Any of the more tactically minded want to direct me?" she whispers. "I'm not that good with this thing, but I don't really have any spells that work well for direct fighting?" ![]()

![]() Syeira mutters something as she riffles through her cards, displaying in order The Trumpet, The Survivor, The Desert, The Brass Dwarf, The Teamster, The Mountain Man, The Tangled Briar, The Sickness and The Waxworks. As she draws them, she tosses them into the air and, as if they have will and power in their very paper, swirl and flutter around their mistress, weaving a web of purple light that surrounds her before dissipating as the cards return to her hand. "I'm ready. Dogslicers are insignificant next to the Harrow's power." Syeira casts mage armor on herself. ![]()

![]() Syeira blinks in surprise as they look up at the crag. "The Devil's Platter, so named because our town's famous Devil dwells in a hole somewhere near the middle. Perhaps he's what The Trumpet warns of...The Sandpoint Devil IS a fearsomely powerful beast..." She keeps her wits about her, looking to make sure something isn't sneaking up behind them. ![]() "The Big Sky speaks of momentous and powerful change for Sandpoint in the past, with the Owl overseeing how the weak fell so the rest could grow strong, as the natural order demands. The Hidden Truth is misaligned, revealing a dangerous secret that was revealed for the town. The Bear's raw, uncontrollable strength will serve us well, striking down the goblins with overwhelming force, but The Liar warns of obsession and a love that would tear the innocent apart. Tree's card, The Eclipse, speaks of becoming lost on the path and a loss of purpose. The Desert, truest of the true, shows us a great waste that none can cross alone, but seeking aid will allow us to cross and discover great things on the other side, but the Crows circle overhead, waiting to seize that which we love, and the Trumpet sounds doom, warning against throwing all-out power for a wicked cause." She bites her lip as she considers what the cards have told her, looking to the others to draw their own conclusions from what she's told them now. ![]()

![]() Syeira blinks in surprise at Rokkad's words. "Oh, no, a good Harrower never peeks into her own future. Too much temptation to "cheat" by stacking the deck. It's bad luck, and the gods get really ticked when you start trying to do THEIR job for them." ![]()

![]() Syeira blanches as Rokkad draws a card bearing a skeletal figure clad in broken, rusty armor, staggering forward with sword in hand. "The Lost...it speaks of losing who you are, your identity gone." She frowns as Ikoma flips his card to reveal a foul crone holding an eyeball in her mouth and raising one hand. "The Mute Hag...she makes blood pacts and holds dark secrets." As you and Rokkad both rolled 9, I've elected to have you draw the next nearest card, as we obviously can't have two people with the same card for the Choosing. She nods in response to Mitsuko's question as she draws a card with the likeness of a calm halfling woman, holding a horned, smoking red baby by its leg in one hand. She breathes a sigh of relief. "Ah, The Midwife. She ushers in new life." Then she gasps again as Tree's card reveals a panicked man surrounded by skeletons beneath a red sky, the sun covered by the moon. "The Eclipse, a harbinger of self-doubt." She looks about, waiting for Shalewen to take her card. ![]()

![]() I needed SOMEONE to ask a question and wasn't sure how to ask someone to ask a question...thanks for providing an out! At Mitsuko's words, Syeira shuffles the cards again and draws nine cards out, holding them out in a fan to the group. "Please select a card for the Choosing." Everyone please roll 1d10 and reroll if you get 10!
