Sorry for disappearing at the end. The rest of my family came down with COVID and I have been caring for them which has pretty much sucked up all of my free time. Thank you for the game - I enjoyed it! I played Sindarin much more cautiously than I normally would have given the level difference, but it was fun nonetheless.

I am not really sure what to look for on the Chronicle, but I didn't see anything that looked like an error.

Fort save: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 7 + 1 = 13 Is he definitely in range of the pool? I didn't move him last time because he didn't have to roll a save the previous round, so I assumed it was safe. I don't suppose it matters much at this point, either way.

The two remaining oozes collapse into piles of smelly goo. With much less distraction, Sindarin sets his bow down gently and studies the poisonous pool from a distance. Brook sits down and watches him curiously, but remains where she is.

After some thought, the ranger skirts around the edge of the pool and uses his sword and boot to slide the goo from the oozes onto the surface, creating a kind of seal. It doesn't cover it completely but seems to dampen it enough that the gas that does escape no longer poses a risk. "Ha! I really didn't think that would work, but it was worth a try!"

That works for me! I backed him off the pool because his chance of success was low and he couldn't keep taking damage like that without full support. But if he has the opportunity to take breaks in between, that should be fine. Having said that - do we *need* to disable the pool once the oozes are gone? Then we can just avoid it, right?

He straightens and my moves further into the chamber, motioning to Brook to stay where she is for now. "I think my swords may be of better use here. Was that you that provided the healin', ma'am? Thank you." He nods to Mrs. Perkins.

He kneels down and pets Brook, carefully checking her for injuries. "Good girl. You did so well. Good girl." She licks his face. He picks up his dropped sword, and stands up again. "Is duergar blood typically...poisonous? That can't be normal. I agree something does not seem right here."

What's the policy on arrow retrieval? 50/50?

Sindarin checks the area for his arrow and returns it to his quiver if it is still useable. He then approaches the geode, and walks from one end of it to the other. Yeah, any loot found or given during the scenario is returned to the Society and is basically converted to your GP reward, even if those consumables are used up. The only permanent items you carry across scenarios are items you buy yourself.

Also, I see you have only one Lore skill. As part of your Pathfinder training (depending on your school), you get one free Lore skill. Assuming you're from the Swords school (since that's where you get your ammunition from), you get Gladiatorial, Pathfinder Society, Scouting, or Warfare lore. Plus, at level 5, you get a bonus feat, but that's for later.

Also also, since I was diving into your character tab: you have two Hero Points. We can have a maximum of three.

Thanks. I saw that about the lore when I went in to choose my items, but then I forgot to update my character sheet. It's updated now.

I do think the hero points are correct, though. GM Farol said we each start with two and Granitt gave me one using a glyph. Am I misunderstanding that?

Sindarin would draw his longsword once they are in the cave as he is out of his comfort zone in these caverns. He doesn't have a method of generating light (other than the arrow) and is dependent on others for this. Brook, of course, has low-light vision. I would probably prefer Libitina to take the front position due to Sindarin's level - if that works for you. I think that also makes sense given his limited vision in low-light conditions.

He will take a shining ammunition (arrow) in addition to the healing potion. He'll also take the rope - he's quite excited about this. I assume the rope is returned at the end of the scenario?

Sindarin laughs good-naturedly at the antics of the two dwarves. "That's one way to recover from the night before. Maybe I'll have to try that sometime."

As they walk, Brook covers at least twice the distance of the humanoids, frolicking about the group. She sometimes bounces up to Sindarin and drops into a play bow, eyes sparkling. In response, the ranger stomps on the ground or runs a few feet in her direction in a mock threat. She then tears off, only to come bounding up to him a short while later to start the process over again. Anytime they pass by water, the wolf splashes in and dances around, mouth open and tongue lolling out, with a goofy grin on her face. Sindarin's expression mirrors her own. It's clear he takes delight in her enjoyment.

When Libitina emerges, Sindarin is visibly shaken and can't quite help reaching for his swords (though he does not draw them). Brook freezes and sniffs the air, giving Libitina a wide berth and watching her suspiciously. Well, that's certainly not what I was expecting. By Desna, I think I've seen more in the last two days than in most of my lifetime! It's...lovely to meet you. We certainly have quite an interesting group, here.

When they enter the caves, Sindarin quiets down considerably and walks with his longsword drawn and one hand resting on Brook's shoulders.

”Uh, well…that’s quite a love story, I have to say.” He gives them a lopsided, but genuine, smile. He nods at Granitt. "I understand where you are coming from. In Nirmathas, the threat of undead invasion is constant. Though it seems you have been touched more directly by them than I have, Aleksandr.

He glances at Dorgen, but keeps his thoughts to himself for the moment.

As Mandoo tells his tale, Sindarin's eyes flick over to Mandoo. The ranger's normally cavalier attitude dissipates and he becomes momentarily serious. He turns his full attention to the conversation, listening intently and with interest.

When Yahdrada arrives, Sindarin gapes at her briefly before composing himself. He finds himself being uncharacteristically quiet, given that he is surrounded by others who clearly know each other and the job better than he does. He reaches down to pet Brook behind the ears, possibly to soothe himself as much as her.

@Sindarin you don't have to dot into each thread, just gameplay. Updates should be visible, but I did see it not showing 'new x' on couple of my campaigns so that does happen, altho rarely.

Yes, I think this is what happened. I doubt it will be an issue again now that I know to check. Since the game hadn't started before, I assumed the lack of notification was simply because nothing was happening yet.

Sindarin looks at Aleksandr with a start. "What do you mean...lack of life? And who is this "us" you speak of?" He moves ever so slightly away from his companion as he awaits the reply.

The view over Gold Falls is stunning and Sindarin briefly touches his fingertips to his forehead and then holds his palm toward the falls in what appears to be a gesture of reverence. He tears his attention away from the scene and does his best to focus on Luna.

At the mention of tunnels into the mountains, he grimaces slightly. We have to go underground? Of course, he knows his duty and is determined not to let down the people of the area. They are depending on their little group, after all. He listens intently to what the others are saying but stays quiet for the moment. He is keenly aware that their experience level far exceeds his own.

Yeah, you need to post in a thread for the forum to pick it up. Most people tend to make a post and delete it immediately ("dot and delete") to not clutter the forum, but still have it track your threads.

Do you mean I need to post in each tab? I did dot and delete for the gameplay thread, but not discussion. I have had instances before where new posts have been made under a tab and the forums don't indicate there are new posts.

- Provide the number of glyphs that you have I don't think Sindarin has any.
- Provide the mentorship boon N/A
- Let me know if you played 2-19 Enter the Pallid Peak I have not.

Thank you for the hero point, Granitt and for the combat mentor boon, Dorgen! Does the boon apply to his wolf as well? Sindarin will happily take an Oil of Potency as well.

A young 20-something human man with shoulder-length brown hair lounging at the table. A longsword is sheathed on his left hip in a brown leather scabbard with a starburst pattern burned into the top. His right hip carries a short sword in a plain black sheath. He is dressed simply in neutral tones and greens and wears a cloak that is woven from different shades of dark green and grey.

He chuckles good-naturedly at the dwarf. "Yes. It's much different in action. I haven't done much knife-throwing myself. But, I'm always up for a challenge!" He grins and stands up. A dark-coated wolf resting in the shadows of the table lifts her head and watches him carefully as he moves away.

Sindarin takes up the knife and throws it at the target. He, too, misses and he grins at Dorgen. "I guess we both need more practice. I am Sindarin, by the way. This will be my first mission with the Pathfinders.

In response to Mandoo.

"Ah, so we'll have a doctor with us! That sounds quite helpful!" He pays attention to the first few lines of Mandoo's lecture and then loses interest and returns to the table to finish off his soup and ale.

Hey, just an FYI @Sindarin, from now on it is better to abandon this thread and head to discussion with those matters ;) All in all we will not begin before Tuesday.

Got it! Thank you!

I know we don't have a set start date yet, but just in case we start over the next few days, I will be out of town and may not be able to post on Tuesday, March 15th.

Vigilant Seal

Wow! Thank you so much for all of that, Dorgen!

Yes - I am still interested! I may just need a little help in figuring out the level boost as I haven't done that before. Thank you for having me!

I am still pretty new to organized play, so if I post something that doesn't make sense, please let me know. Sindarin is Level 1 - brand new and never been played.

A young 20-something human man with shoulder-length brown hair appears at the threshold of the doorway just as Mrs. Perkins is introducing herself. He hesitates, glancing behind him. He wears leather armor, which is dyed varying shades of green and etched here and there with leaf patterns. There is a longbow slung across his back, and he carries a quiver with an etching of an oval-shaped leaf with a water droplet at the tip. His bracers have a hawk head pattern.

A longsword is sheathed on his left hip in a brown leather scabbard with a starburst pattern burned into the top. His right hip carries a short sword in a plain black sheath. He also wears a cloak that is woven from different shades of dark green and grey.

The man looks around the room uncertainly, then shrugs, glances over his shoulder and nods, making a subtle waving motion with his hand. He walks into the room, followed closely by a somewhat gangly black wolf.

Pleasure to meet you, ma'am. Mrs. Perkins, that is. I'm Sindarin - and this is Brook. Sindarin smiles at the wolf and she looks up at him hopefuly, wondering if he has something to offer her. Seeing that he does not, she settles at his feet and watches the other people in the room warily. Sindarin inclines his chin in the direction of Dorgen and Aleksandr as well, acknowledging their presence. He sends a silent prayer to Gozreh, hoping to be selected for this assignment.
