This discussion of Aleksandr's change in class reminds me that the same thing happened to Mandoo. After many minor and a couple of major changes to the original monk version of Mandoo, I was still unhappy with the result. He had only just reached 12xp, so before his first adventure at Level 2, I decided give up on the original character concept and rebuilt him from the ground up as a summoner. Only his name remains the same. So the Mandoo that Mrs Perkins went through Enter the Pallid Peak with is no longer. On the plus side, I had a blast running him through his first scenario, and he is now one of my favorite PCs.

Mandoo and his psychopomp eidolon girlfriend Libitina are followers of Pharasma tasked with doing their bit to eliminate the scourge of undeath from the material plane (check his profile for the full backstory). One of the PCs in their first adventure was a Whispering Way affiliated necromancer, which made for some tense moments, but was a lot of fun to RP. Looks like dhampir Aleksandr and almost-undead phantom Imelia may create a similar dynamic with Mandoo and Libitina. I look forward to exploring that in gameplay.

Sure!.

We have Tandang Boreas who is a level 1 so he will play with a level bum. @Sindari please have a read Through the level bump rules You will be able to choose up to two mentor boons to aid you further in the big PC league ;) I will ask other players to provide what mentorship boons do they have.

Effectively all your skill checks/attack checks/ saves and DC get +1, and your HP is higher by +10. The best way to capture it is to update your tag line (for AC, saves HP, etc.) and then remember it for the skill check, but otherwise, keep your profile unchanged so that after the scenario you don't have to redo it again.

Mrs. Perkins has the magical mentor boon too.

Perhaps more helpfully, she also has some crafted consumables that you're free to use. The oils of potency in particular are becoming significantly less useful to her because characters her level are getting +1 striking weapons on their own, so it's perfect for level bumped characters.

Hello everyone! Mandoo, I was wondering why Libitina sounded familiar, but you're Kka in my Abomination Vault adventure. I'm curious too see that side of the character. :P

Relevant information for the GM:
- I have the Dubious Knowledge feat, giving me one piece of correct information and one piece of incorrect information if I fail (but not crit fail!) an identification check. If you post information in spoiler tags, I'll just come up with something on my own, if you'd like.
- I have Stonecunning, allowing a free secret check for unusual stonework
- I can also Read Lips, so I can potentially follow a conversation even if I can't hear the speakers.

To the others: Do you have a problem with me using undead? I have Animate Dead, but if characters are morally opposed, I'll switch to something else.

My profile is still at level 1 I see, I'll update that right now to the relevant level 4.

Couple of basics:
- I will posts once a workday (monday-friday) and sometimes once through the weekend (but this is might or might not happen). I expect you to do the same, when you know that you will be absent please let all of us know in the discussion.
- I want this to be a friendly game with a good vibe and all that. I know 5 out of 6 of you so I know that this comes without saying ;)
- I hope to start this game mid-next week (around Wednesday?), my 3-07 table is one RP day away from being done, the other (2-12) is nearby.

Before we all start the game we need to cover a few things:
- In the campaign header I added a couple of links:
- Slides - please head to slide 3 and provide an avatar for your PC, please make them round as bad guys and NPC's will have square ones.
- Macro sheet- please fill it in for the secret checks, it aids me getting your modifiers whenever I need them as well as rolls for initiative
- RPGChronicles - this I will use to generate the chronicles after the game, since the reporting happens via the Outpost reporting sheet, I will take information from there, please make sure that it is correct.

I am almost certain that you have enough glyphs to make everyone start with 2 hero points, but please say how many glyphs do you have.

Every 1,5-2 weeks I will be giving Hero Points, I try to track it in a presentation to remind myself as well as to serve as a tracking tool who got it and for what.

Since we are playing high tier, please also provide what Mentor Boons do you have, for the ones that did not provide it already.

Please also let me know if your PC played (or have chronicle) #2-19 Enter the Pallid Peak

- Hah, I'm Vigilant Seal! Bought the Combat Mentor boon, increasing attack rolls by 1.
- I have played Pallid Peak with this character (technically GMed, but same difference).

for Sindarin: that means your level bump increases your attack rolls (not damage rolls) by 2, rather than 1.

If people are having trouble making round tokens on Google Slides: select your token, and the menu bar should change. Fifth option from the right is "Crop Image" (two L-shaped lines making a square). Use the dropdown triangle to the right ("Mask Image") and go to Shapes --> Oval (first option on the second row). You can use "Border Weight" (4 to the left of Crop Image) to make a border (I prefer 2 px), and to the left of that a colour for your border.

Ha ha. Escorting difficult souls to the Boneyard is Libitina's day job. After countless millennia doing the same thing, she's just not all that excited about it anymore. She much prefers to hang out with her boyfriend Mandoo and have adventures.

Dorgen Eversteel wrote:
To the others: Do you have a problem with me using undead? I have Animate Dead, but if characters are morally opposed, I'll switch to something else.

Ah, well, yes. That could cause some friction. Mandoo and Libitina have been thrown together by Pharasma to act as a small 2-person strike team to remove the scourge of undeath from their little corner of the Material Plane. In their last adventure, an undercover Whispering Way follower in the group cast Animate Dead during the final BBEG fight (for self defense admittedly) and Mandoo ended up having to unmanifest Libitina to stop her from cutting the guy down. Mandoo, being a little less rigid about Pharasma's rules, and knowing the importance of keeping in good standing with the Society, had to satisfy himself with merely giving the guy a good dressing down.

The TL;DR is that if you don't want to irritate Mandoo and Libitina unduly, I'd avoid creating undead in their presence.

I use the campaigns tab of my main profile to see if there are any new posts in any active campaigns in which I’ve posted to Gameplay. Works for me. Is that what you mean when you say the forums?

@Sindarin you don't have to dot into each thread, just gameplay. Updates should be visible, but I did see it not showing 'new x' on couple of my campaigns so that does happen, altho rarely.

I would say yes. RAW (rules as written) is repeating in every point: raise every DC the PC has by ...

But I think this would be a bit silly. So I will rule that yes, the bonus applies to animal companions as well. Keep in mind that this is my ruling, so on the next table, it could look differently.

It's his ancestral weapon thematically, he uses to bring honour back to his family. Using the Deific Weapon - Warhammer doesn't make a difference to his abilities as far as I can see, so only uses it when required and in any more religious ceremonies.

Yeah, any loot found or given during the scenario is returned to the Society and is basically converted to your GP reward, even if those consumables are used up. The only permanent items you carry across scenarios are items you buy yourself.

Also, I see you have only one Lore skill. As part of your Pathfinder training (depending on your school), you get one free Lore skill. I do think the hero points are correct, though. GM Farol said we each start with two and Granitt gave me one using a glyph. Am I misunderstanding that?

Each person that have a glyph (which is a reward for GM'ing) can give other a hero point when the game starts. Normally each player starts with 1. Since you as a team had enough glyphs each player started with 2 hero points (so that includes 1 given by Granitt).

Thanks for the neat and tidy beard Dorgen, I would have RP'd but we are in combat mode so don't want to interrupt by going back in time, suffice it to say Granitt would have grumbled and growled about the water barrel....

I didn't mean it like that, I was fine with going into combat, you have to keep the game moving and you're doing very nicely.

P.S. In England very nicely translates to Great in US speak. .. :-)

Ahh, the colours and flavours of English spoken in various countries ;) Good to know, thanks. I don't think I ever used: 'that translates' ;)

I would give it a try...

Oh no, you kept the game at a nice pace, I don't begrudge you any of that. It would've been nice if Granitt had responded, but I think it's more important to keep the game rolling than to give everyone time to endlessly play out their characters.

"Good nirvanas, what is all this commotion about?"

Alexandr's wayfinder (the closest light source) doesn't reach Yellow, so Mrs. Perkins cannot see any enemies.

Mrs. Perkins delays until she can see something or until there's sounds of fighting.

@WaterySoup - I decided to delay you and indicated the dim-light source from geode on the map. I know that I could have waited, but this is most likely my last option to post today, and I wanted to move the round forward.

@Quentin - no worries, my answer was more tongue in the cheek

Is there enough room in the squares to the North and East of the skeleton for one of the PCs to fit? Looks to me like those squares are more than 50% clear. If so, can a PC move diagonally from the East square to the North square without going through the skeleton?

If that's the case, then Granitt or Imelia could try to squeeze in there to get some flanking on the skeleton.

This is my first time dealing with concealment/light issues - hopefully I get this correct. And everything else. I am still figuring out 2e.

So, when using google presentation handling low-light is a struggle. Geode gives dim-light so if Sindarin will be attacking bat he would treat them as concealed ( each attack requires flat DC5 check or you misses).

Your companion has low-light vision so they don't have to do that check. At the same time Mandoo and Mrs Perkins casted light, which means that 20ft around them is regular light. But they are to far away from the enemies.

On the other note, could you please be more declarative in your actions? So in any way summarize how did you spent your round.

Just like Granitt did

From how I read your actions.
- move
- pull out bow
- command animal:
- move
- attack

Yeah, when at least half to he square is clear you can use it. Otherwise, the default is no.
