Sigmund nods at the newcomers and continues to clean his blade for the night to come.

He says nothing at first and looks up only when Sybille asks her question. Outwardly he does not have much of a reaction to the question but curiosity burns in his eyes as he regards the couple.

A walk in the woods? Is that arrogance or are these two just ignorant as to the dangers of beast hunting?

Still his mother had taught him that a gentleman did not air such thoughts aloud, so Sigmund merely smiles instead.

''As my charming companion mentioned already, I am Sigmund and we would be happy to join you.'' He offers the couple a short bow.

''Shall we look for others who might wish to join us or is this to be a party of four only?''

Sigmund sees the stand off that is taking place between Morgam, Dominic and these other hunters out of the corner of his eye.

He turns to look at Sybille and points at his other companions with his head.

''Think we need to go give them a hand? Or should we just leave them to it and fight for our right to hunt in the woods?''

Morgam shoulders his way through the crowd eager to find a spot where all can see him and tremble at his wrath. He opens his mouth to bellow a challenge the likes of which will shake all who hear it to their core!

Everyone immediately starts laughing as Morgam's voice cracks on the 2nd syllable and he sounds like a teenager once more.

Sigmund looks very interested in the idea of hunting in the woods near Byrgenworth. After all Byrgenworth is a bastion of knowledge and Sigmund loves knowledge.

Sigmund however has come to appreciate having another hunter at his back and decides to see what his new-found fellows are wanting to do.

He spots Sybille leaning against a wall and decides to join her.

'' Greetings Sybille. Have you any inclination on where you'll be hunting tonight?''

Sigmund's mind is awash with ideas as he reads and learns more and more about this giant subterranean city underneath the city of yharnam. Seeing as he has a few days of free time, he decides to continue to try and dig deeper into this underworld.

He begins to browse more books, journals and tomes, trying to find any references more specific to the things he and his companions encountered under the city.

Gather information: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Knowledge Geography: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Knowledge Dungeoneering: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20

He is looking for any reference that might point to the things they have already encountered. Particularly the giant suit of armor, the strange liquid that seems to be become a self-moving ooze and the random flying objects. The Geography check is an attempt to help him pin down references based on location. I realize I might be reaching here.

With a couple of days to themselves and no tasks immediately before him that require his attention, Sigmund decides to dig a little deeper into what might be below the city. He decides to start with a bit of research into the history of Yharnam. He heads off to find himself a library of some kind.

Diplomacy (Gather Information): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
Sigmund will start with any library or depository of knowledge that might be found within Hunter Workshops but will branch out into the city proper if needs be.

Sigmund nods at Morgam's proclamation, though he does cast the armor another look of curiosity and longing.

''I would tend to agree. This clock design has far too many similarities to persons and things we've seen the last few days to put off informing our superiors.''

He spares the armor a second glance.

''Though I can't deny I'm curious to see what would have happened if we placed the jar into that thing's chest.''

Sigmund's eyes once more gleam with excitement, though he also looks a little apprehensive when he notices that the liquid he caught in his jar seems to be moving of its own volition.

Carefully removing a stopper from his pocket he jams it into the jar, sealing it. He replaces it into his pocket for later inspection before he moving to inspect the clock.

He says nothing at first as he examines the various pictographs, lines and symbols on the floor. As he gazes at the symbol near where the hands have stopped, he lets his mind wonder as he contemplates the symbols.

The excited gleam returns to his eyes and he begins pointing at the symbols.

''Fall!Fall! That's what these symbols mean.'' He grows silent for a moment and thinks again. ''...Actually, they could also signify late summer. In either case, farmer's often use these symbols to signify the time of year.....''

He trails off as he remembers exactly what season Yharnam is currently experiencing and can't help the cold feeling of dread that courses up his spine.

As an alternative we examine the liquid seeping on the floor and Sigmund will discover that if one burns the gas the liquid gives off it ignites. He names this liquid gasoline and promptly sells it becoming extremely wealthy.

Seeing as Sybille was busy examining the armor, Sigmund decided to see if there was anything to learn from the liquid pooling around the room.

Fetching an empty flask from his pocket, he carefully dipped it into the liquid until he had collected some. He sniffed it and swirled it around the bottle trying to see if he could tell what it was.

Sigmund looks visibly disappointed that the jar is to remain unopened for the moment, his eyes are alight with curiosity. He recognizes however that they have more important issues at hand.

He stands a couple of feet away from the door, sword in one hand and pistol in the other, ready for any surprises on the other side of the door.

Producing a cloth from one of his pockets, Sigmund soaks it with clean water from his flask and steps towards Morgam.

Handing him the cloth he asks ''Are you alright Morgam? You should clean and bind your wounds before we proceed. No telling what kind of foulness is to be found in these tunnels.''

Sigmund's eyes roam over the room, taking in every detail. His eyes lock onto the beating heart however as a morbid sense of curiosity fills him.

Approaching the heart, he stops before it and begins to examine it.

''By the Gods, what manner of experiment is this? He calls out in both horror and wonder.

Sigmund shakes his head in disbelief at the watch that Morgam is playing with.

''Its like my great uncle Theo once said, never buy a broken plow or take advice from a watch.''

Still muttering to himself about omens and death wishes he nonetheless moves forwards to cover Morgam's back, ready to blast anything that might jump from the shadows.

Glad that Morgam chose him for a task he was suited to, Sigmund walks over to the vials and begins to examine them. He picks them up and turns them over, trying to divine what exactly they are meant to do.

Sigmund stands at Sybille's other side. His hand grasps his sword, ready to slice into any threat that presents itself.

After a few minutes have passed without any other incidents, Sigmund leans back from the door and graps it in hand. He opens the door a crack and peers into the opening, ready to slam the door shut at any sign of danger.

Sigmund nods at Morgam to show that he heard him but says nothing. He braces his shoulder against the door to help hold it closed but over his shoulder he sees Morgam fiddling with the watch and hears the sound of crashing objects dying down.

Slowly he backs away from the wall and looks at his companions.

''Is it safe to back away from the door now?''

Seeing that the others have all decided to escape, Sigmund decides the battle is no longer worth pursuing.

Slamming his sword back into his sheath, he dives forward in a gap between burning books and chairs. Rolling to his feet, he scrambles for the door.

Seeing that most of the things surrounding him are flammable, Sigmund draws his sword with a flourish and with a click of his thumb lights it in oil. He swings at the nearest object.

Not being raised in Yharnam the word 'Pthumerian' means nothing to him, This is clearly not the case with his companions and he makes it known.

''Pthumerians? Who exactly were the Pthumerians? I've never heard of them.''

Sigmund decides to trail along after Sybille and looks over her shoulder so he can try and read the tomes she is looking at.

Coming up beside Morgam, Sigmund presses his back to the wall next to the door Morgam is examining, thus making sure he can cover the opposite door in case something comes out of it.

Gripping the rope in both of his hands, Sigmund shimmies down to the floor of the tunnel.

Sigmund doesn'y need a torch to see in the dark, but he lights his hip lantern just in case. Sigmund draws his double pistol from within his coat and peers down the tunnel.

Sigmund smiles at the praise and rubs the back of his neck somewhat self-consciously.

''I'm not technically a Powder Keg no, though I wear the badge. My mother was a Powder Keg Huntress and though she didn't want me to be a hunter she did want me to know how to fight. She taught me how to use your tools and how to fashion my blade.'' He taps one of the triggers on his sword to emphasize his point.

''I've only expanded on what she taught me in the years I've been in the city.''

Sigmund rolls his eyes at the non-answer but he smiles none the less.

''I will hold you to that. Best make sure you survive, my curiosity is more likely to kill me than any beast.''

As they wait around for their companions, Sigmund notices very familiar triggers on the hammer at Sybille's back.

''My lady, would you by any chance happen to be a student of the Powder Keg school of Hunting?''

Sigmund arrives at the meeting place just in time to catch the tail end of Morgam and Sybille's conversation.

He is sporting his usual hunter's garb but like Morgam he wears a crude leather cloak of sorts which which hopefully protect his clothing from wetness. Under the crude cloak he also sports a new leather coat that is quite finely made.

''I will have to second your thoughts Lady Sybille. Hunting is already a grim and nasty business, no need to make it worse by spending time in some dark cave.''

He nods to each of them in greeting as he speaks and he turns his eye on the older hunter, his green eyes alight with curiosity.

''Old man, you say you used to work down in these tunnels? Pray tell what kind of work brought you down here?''

Sigmund down into the entrance of the tunnels with disdain for a moment. He then shrugs his shoulders and turns to his companions.

''Well there's nothing for it. Shall we part for now and come back in the evening?''

Instead of his usual attire, Sigmund sports trousers and a shirt. Both are black and made of slightly nicer than his usual attire.

He offers his greetings to the others when he arrives and catches the tail end of Grim and Sybille's conversation.

"Doubtless they wish for us to appear as ordinary citizens. And if we are travelling in the day light, perhaps they don't expect us to find combat?"

He runs his chin thoughtfully as he speaks, considering all the various possibilities.

Sorry guys, I lost my job and have been in job hunting mode for the last few days. My character has been updated for some time and I'm ready to advance if others are.

Sigmund spends the first day acquiring a portable alchemist lab and a new cloak. The man who sold it to him told him it would offer him resistance against many ailments. He then spent the next two days in some dark corner of the worskshop mixing various chemicals and reagents together, working hard to create more blood vials and a couple other potions that should help him on his next mission.

When the other hunters he has met ask him to join them for drinks, he happily throws down his tools to join them.

Sigmund sits to Morgam's left. He orders whatever counts as the finest ale they have.

When Morgam is done his introduction, Sigmund starts to speak.

''Well for those of you I haven't spoken to yet I'm Sigmund Von Strauss. Im pretty new to hunting, all things considered. My parents were both hunters but we left Yharnam when I was a kid. I came here to find my sister, but I haven't had much luck yet.''

Though not for a lack of trying.
