Definitely interested, so I'm looking to see what my race is to inform my submission.

1d100 ⇒ 1

I'm dotting. Never played this, so I'll read up and figure out an idea.

I'm getting this druid finished up. My biggest problem is getting the attributes arranged. If anyone could give me advice (or help) in that area, I'd be VERY appreciative.

Another question I have is what slots would a snapping turtle have for magic items?

Ok, so I'm going for a gnome Druid (kraken caller) with a snapping turtle companion. Plenty of good opportunities for making use of dirty trick. I am wondering if item creation feats would be allowed or suggestable? I know in some runnings of the game, there is a lot of down time.

I'm gonna spend tomorrow working on the kraken caller, but if it's alright, I'd like to have his companion be a snapping turtle. I'm building it sort of as what stands in the way between the Druid and his enemies.

I just have to determine the best route of how to make this character work and utilize his features the best. I will definitely figure it out though.

And you get a bonus on Swim, Climb, as well as dirty trick. I'm wondering if dirty trick is a decent combat maneuver for this sort of character.

The kraken caller is a Besmaran Druid that is more pirate focused and can grow tentacles.

I was looking at either playing a kraken caller Druid or maybe an oracle if we're in more need.

I also got told about some openings, and I play in a few games with Noro.

Fair enough. I know some campaigns have the option for an hour long break, but wasn't sure with Jade Regent, as I've never played it.

If I were to go for barbarian/ranger, is that too much overlap for what you're looking for? Specifically, I was looking at the Skirmisher archetype, as I am not a huge fan of spellcasting as ranger.

I'm seriously looking at the Mutagenic Rager Barbarian archetype as part of the mix for my submission. I am wondering if that is one archetype that is allowed. It is a 3PP archetype.

Archetype in question

Dotting for interest.

So, I'm in a Rise of the Runelords game, and we're at Thistletop. Due to some changes to the AP (I think), all of our characters have experienced severe waking nightmares that have pulled from our characters' pasts.

That said, my character Thirzin Bronzebeard has been a ranger his first 3 levels, but due to the way the role playing has gone in breaking free from the last batch of nightmares (and wrecking basically everything that stands in his way), I am going to take a level in barbarian.

I've been given the go ahead on invulnerable rager (which fits his tough hide) but I also am trying to decide whether to go urban barbarian or regular barbarian. I like the aspect the Will save gives (which represents his single minded focus) but I feel the more cold, plodding, Jason Vorhes (AP?) sort of unstoppable nature of Thirzin is something I have a hard time viewing the standard rage as fitting.

Thoughts?

Sorry I'm so slow in getting in the swing of things. The weather here has made things chaos. I'm getting caught up though.

My character inspiration

So I'm thinking that my character was working the Milani angle in a quiet way, before the new rules were laid down. I'm thinking he might have seen the need for change and when he started reading up in the library, he quickly put two and two together that materials were going missing, and he would have to go to street level to find his answers.

I'm trying to figure out what he was doing prior to the change in rulership, and what he is doing now.

Wow! Everyone is getting good stuff together and I'm piddling around! Lol I need to get my butt in gear!

Some of the rules set down by the new regime are ones that seem to make sense. The animal killings (mice, ravens, & doves) are related to either religions or resistance groups.

I think his big thing might be that he began worshipping and secretly serving Milani in small ways until the local structure all but disappeared overnight, and it's now been his interest in really seeing what happened to them. Sort of realizing that things have turned too sour to keep working in subtle ways.

So I am trying to find motivations for my guy to be getting himself involved in all this. Thoughts?

Yay for a fellow Milani!

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Ok, so Elf inquisitor (infiltrator, heresy) of Milani. Breadth of Experience feat will make up for the loss of Monster Lore.

I am realizing he is focused on staying very secretive about his religion, currently. I'm trying to flesh him out. I think he was not originally wanting to get involved in things, but after he found himself drawn to Milani, he began to become much more aware of what was going on (and began to experience some of the things firsthand).

So, I've decided I'm going to go for the infiltrator archetype for my inquisitor. It looks like, when it comes to bluffing, I'll be adding my Wisdom bonus twice, which'll be nice.

I'm thinking half-elf, as far as race. Not TOO much attention grabby, but a good fit.

That's a good plan, Choon!

Having been reading up, I am now torn between inquisitor or warpriest. This seems the perfect instance for the Liberty's Blade archetype.

What do you all think? Inquisitor with heresy inquisition or warpriest (liberty's blade archetype)?

Night, Scotty! I'm thinking inquisitor of either Milani or Calistria (with the Heresy inquisition) OR investigator (sleuth). I think the inquisitor could be VERY useful.

Edit: Going with the inquisitor. Looking like inquisitor of Milani (with the heresy inquisition).

I'm thinking I'm going to go for an inquisitor or a ranger. Possibly an investigator, once I read over the options.

It's one I'm gonna have to seriously read up on.

HR works for me!

The only one I'm not hugely fond of is IG. Any others get my vote.

I'm actually not familiar with that particular one. I am ALWAYS up for S&S, though!

I would give Serpent's Skull a shot. Iron Gods is just one that I'm not hugely interested in, honestly. Heck, I've thought that Mummy's Mask could be interesting.

I would be much preferred to go with WotR

And this is why we need the Mamushka!

Due to some RL issues that've come up, it'll be 12-24 hours before I'm able to get a character posted up.

I'm definitely interested. I have had some medical and relationship issues that have, until the last few months, made my consistency in posting a little sporadic from time to time, but I always clarify this, if possible, with the groups I am in. I am throwing this out there so that, if my character is reviewed, you could see the reason for gaps in posting.

As I said, things have improved, and if something does happen, I will forewarn. Do you think that would be a problem, Vord?

Dotting for interest and will come up with something shortly. And I see some familiar faces!

I'll get something whipped up, but I'm very excited!

I'm definitely interested in this! I'm going to try and put something appropriate together!

Edit: Looking at putting together a Hunter, which I think would be appropriate, all considered. Hopefully? Either that, or a slayer. Definitely looking at focusing on the ranged options.

I'm definitely interested and will be looking into what might fit well in this campaign. For now, dotting for interest.

Congratulations, and I'll use this as a chance to get this character built in an interesting fashion.

It means to raise a stat from 10 to 12 cost two points. From 12 to 15? You're using 3 points. Etc.

Consider me interested

Definitely interested.

Thinking bard/cavalier, quite possibly looking at battle herald down the line of allowed.

Color me seriously interested.

Diplomacy Aid: 1d20 ⇒ 2

"Or possibly sparring matches, for those of us inclined for those things."

I absolutely will be able to do that. I'll help them all get it together, and I'll have mine posted by tomorrow evening.

I'll get mine finished up, and I'll get my two friends to get their characters written up and posted too.

Well this is an interesting idea. Color me interested.
