He could have been nice to Hila, he could have helped Silence with Greta, he could have been flirting with Sigrun since they've gotten to the First World. He could have done all of that, but he didn't. I didn't let him.

No, I've wasted everyone's time and threw all those moments away. I f$&$ed all that up, f!*~ed it all up by playing something I hate and can't get any of that back now.

I want to keep playing with you guys, I really do. I've genuinely been happier since I started playing in these games.

I just can't seem to put together a halfway decent in-game reason to fix a character I currently hate. You all seem to like him, so I'm trying to look for the good in him. I just don't want to play a bigot. I'm not a bigot. I don't want to play a bigot. But I had to go and make him a bigot. What does that say about me? I promise you all I'm not a bigot.

You sir are not a bigot, you have a good charector with a problematic history, We love friend Neverhome, and truth be told, sure he's said he hates winter wolves and doesnt trust them, but aside from voicing his opinion he has yet to do anything. I think you have turned a minor thing into something much more than it is. Let it go my friend. Neverhome is not a bigot, not even close, you are not a bigot, not even close. Breathe take a deeper breath, take that little worry and scoop it out, set it to the side and let allie light it on fire.

That or I can ask the gnomes to start singing let it go to you with dancing and magic and fluffy animals and all that. Take the cop out, or use an easier one, "Maybe all winter wolves are not bad, I will still be watchful and wary, for a while though" there see, slowly moving in the healthy direction but not completely abandoning history. Have Neverhome feast of lights or new years turnover or whatever Golarian has resolution that stuff to try and lighten up.

Pull a prank on Silence, its what i would do to lighten things up, snowballs to the back of the samukitteh heads are always hilarious

I've been staring at these posts since they went up, trying to come up with something to say. And I can't. I'm pretty much disgusted with how useless I'm being right now.

After everything I've f#+$ed up, I can't even put together something to salvage my own character. I have to use a friggin copout to save his ass. If that's the only piss poor thing I can come up with to fix him it'd be just the same to retcon him.

okay, I am sorry, I shouldnt have used the words cop out. It has a negative connotation and that's not how I meant it at all. I meant taking the simplest and easiest path is often the best. We like Neverhome, would love to keep Neverhome plugging along, and being the awesome that he is. Someone has to keep Silence in line and poke the occasional fun of him,

Thats really all I meant, if you dont like how Neverhome has become, figure out what you want him to be and lets work on getting there. People often use humor (or humour is you are across the pond) to help deal with stressful situations, no one was mocking you or making fun or you and anything like that. We are playing this game to have fun i think.

You dont even have to do a huge edit or anything, Do you want Neverhome to not be intrinsicly against winter wolves? if the answer is yes then we can work on it, if the answer is no, well we can deal with that too, because even as is, so far the only thing that has occured is Neverhome verbally complaining/disagreeing? with Hila being about? We can work on things from there.

PLease friend Neverhome take a deep breath and reliaze we want you here, we dont think you are damaging our fun or the game. Stay with us buddy we can find a way to work this about fruitfully.

I don't think of it as a "copout". Listening to other people and giving their points of view a "maybe" is incredibly hard. Especially when they are as deeply felt as neverhome's. Defeating a dragon is cake compared to what Neverhome just did.

Solving everything with a single sentence feels like a copout to me. I was trying to come up with an argument between him and Inner Lyosha where it could play out and he could have some actual development but that backfired.

Oh we can totally imagine that. Don't worry. I bet inner lyosha is pitching a fit right now.

No one is minimizing your challenge here, nor questioning your belief that Lyosha has gone a direction you hate and he is a problem for you.

I will be brutality blunt, you are projecting issues on the character that are out of proportion to what we see.

That's not the issue I have, many players use characters as ways to explore different parts of their personality, deal with issues past and present in addition to coping with/escaping "normal" life.

My problem is you are being unkind and rude to those of us trying to provide assistance.

You are expressing a very negative and destructive manner.

I don't want to sound like I'm calling you out...but, I guess I am.

I'm sorry.

I've been so stressed out trying to fix my own mistakes and then when I realized I couldn't I just felt so useless. So I made a last minute decision which I regret and gave up and went with a copout. After everything I tried, after everything everyone had done to try to help me, I basically went with f+#% it he doesn't hate Winter Wolves anymore. The end. And I was disgusted with myself for doing that. But at that point it felt like I was in corner and that was the only way out, that or a complete retcon or just killing him off so no one has to deal with him anymore.

And then Ered made a joke and I snapped. After failing, after trying and f+&~ing up and failing I had it rubbed in my face. Or that's what it felt like like anyway.

I'm stressed out, burnt out, and I'm sick and tired of trying to deal with Neverhome and just making things worse. I f@&$ things up. It's what I do. It's all I do.

You are not a failure. You just have writer's block. It happens. I have wanted to really harp on Witchboy and Sparkles over there for a while, but I have yet to find a way. Instead, I have done what you just had to do. It happens. I'll make up for it later. :)

Okay, writer's block. In trying to fix my character who hates someone else's class feature/character and has been annoying people and making them miserable for months.

Neverhome hasn't been making me miserable for months...

Anyway, I was simply pointing out that you aren't worthless or ruining the game for anyone. Not that I've heard.

Yes, it sucks when someone hates something that is part of your character and is vocally stubborn about it. But it isn't the end of the world. You have the ability to fix it. You have not yet written yourself into a corner though.

Neverhome can easily have a heart to heart with Hila and see that she isn't an evil monster, but just a little girl trying to survive like the rest of us. Which is in no way a cop-out. And neither is giving Hila a chance because the woman you love wants you to. You don't have to be best friends with Hila, just accept her as one of us.

Puppy-bigotry aside, Neverhome is one of my favorite PCs in this game if that makes you feel better.

Okay, I guess I need to apologize to everyone, but to Ered in particular. He made a sexist joke which annoyed me so I called him on it and people defended and endorsed him which pissed me off and made me start lashing out at everyone.

Neverhome, I'm sorry it came across as being sexist and insensitive to you. That was never my intention. I've noticed that Neverhome & Sigrun are the typical couple, in some ways. But I definitely am sorry that you were having a hard time with him IC. If you ever have a hard time with him, or feel like something about him is bothering you, I'm pretty much always available to work that over with you.

I hope you're getting back to liking Neverhome, because I think all of us really do like him.

That said, sorry for being slow in responding to everything. It's been a rough, busy few days.
