Being a summoner is the only way I know of.

If you are willing to use third party archetypes, the ones like black snake and weapons champion at the bottom remove spells in exchange for more martial prowess.

This character is an example of such. He uses two archetypes. Blood god disciple removes the summon monster spell like ability for buffs to the eidolon and summoner. Then Blacksnake removes spells and gives him whip attacks.

All of this is on the d20pfsrd.

Blood God disciple for one. Orc racial and removes summon monster.
Blacksnake is third party, used on the pfsrd in the regular archetype tables. Removes casting higher than cantrips.

This character has two archetypes that remove spells and the summon monster ability. He has been pretty fun so far. His focus is to disarm people with the whip and then let the eidolon grapple and use swallow whole.
The only part I miss is being able to easily heal the eidolon. To help that, the first feat the eidolon took was Godless Healing.

RETIRED

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
1d3 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Sam takes a massive crack at one of the unconscious men, trying to drive them into more lasting unconsciousness.

RETIRED

Sam will attack the not sleeping one, assuming there's no evidence that he shouldn't.
"You did this the hard way."
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
1d3 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

I love Blood God Disciple. If you go human or half elf, and take half orc racial heritage.
This summoner is that and Blacksnake.
Bgd removes summon monster, black snake removes spells.
It makes for a really fun monster/player relationship.
Eventually I'll disarm people at a distance and then feed enemies to my pet monster.

RETIRED

Assuming everyone is OK with it.
The whole group moves at once, quickly taking their positions.
"Put them down and surrender your weapons," Samuel says with intensity as he flicks his whip.
1d20 ⇒ 1
His tough guy performance is far from stellar.
His whip flicks up against his leg and he flinches at it, throwing it off badly.

RETIRED

"OK. Here's the plan. All of us go out at once. Z, P, you block the hallway exit. M, you and I go on opposite side and flank. L, you stay in this room, do what you can from here. Me and Z out first to both sides. Then M and P. Everyone got it?"
He ties a tight gag in the unconscious man's mouth as he speaks quietly.

RETIRED

"Have they seen us?"
He ask, very quietly.

RETIRED

Samuel has taken the lead on typing up the culprit with bedsheets.
"If someone else could. Little busy."

RETIRED

"Not until now. Looks like our visitor might have something to do with the missing person."
He nudges the downed man with a boot.
"Someone tie him up. He can be used."
He takes notice of the shuffling outside, but doesn't move to the door.

RETIRED

Samuel's whip arcs out towards the man as he moves position.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
1d3 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
His whip either lands and does some hefty damage or could leave a large welt should the man's armor block it.

RETIRED

1d20 ⇒ 16
Samuel grabs his whip from his belt.
Expecting trouble, he slept in his armor, but Proteus isn't here, as he had slept.
At which watch did you intend for this to occur? If it's last, Proteus will be here.

RETIRED

Pulls the focus off of me. If I don't have spells, there's less places where I can have a fix all.
Blacksnake archetype removes spells other than cantrips.

RETIRED

K then.
Ice, you can start us at it when you're ready.

RETIRED

"Sounds like we're all in agreement, then."
Just going to assume Malowa is up for it, good cleric and all.
"Our next step is to just wait. Regular watch schedule, but in the room."
His far ahead do we care to go? To the room, or to the watch when things happen?, etc?

I don't need charisma. I don't have spells. Cantrips are it, but they don't really have saves.

This is a GMPC of mine. He let's me keep the party moving along the course and provide things we need that people don't think to buy, like a cart and tools.
He is a summoner with both blood god disciple and black snake. He doesn't have spells, so he is really not great, but I love him and his eidolon.
Now if only this campaign would move faster....
Open to recruitment of you're looking for an online game. Just find my post history. :)

RETIRED

"Do we want to be do gooders? Not like we have a schedule to keep. Bigger thing is, do we want to stay here tonight? There's no other Inn's in town. We could set a watch in the room. And when I say room, I mean room. There's only the one."

RETIRED

Samuel flips his collar up over the mark.
He rummages through his cart and offers the scarf he wears during sand storms to Zneirica.
"Hop in."
He takes them to the other edge of town with anyone else who wants to.
Please give me a list of the things you're selling. Items and quantity please.

RETIRED

After all the healing is said and done, you load up the wagons and pull away for a while, if only to get away from the disenlived highwaymen.
Samuel drives his cart with Proteus, now much lighter as everyone else is in the larger cart with the two horses.
Eventually you decide to stop.
You set up camp between the two wagons and you're all sitting around the fire eating trail rations.
Samuel sits on his trunk with Proteus curled around him, idly being scratched.
"We'll be into town tomorrow, get a decent meal and a real bed. If you have anything to cover your city mark, you'd be good to. The people outside the walls don't like us too much, but not enough to do without our buisness. They'll take Martell coin, though. Gold is gold."

RETIRED

"I was just thinking that we run both of them. Move you guys and the extra cargo over to that one. Lighten up Proteus' load to usual. Speed both up. Easier that way. And I don't think that the horses want to get that close to him either. I wouldn't if I was a horse."
As he speaks he stand ands snaps the necks of the rest of the bandits as no one else seems to want to.

RETIRED

"Don't bother with that. Leaving them out here to starve or get eaten by gnolls doesn't help them or us. Just off em. Dead is dead."

RETIRED

"Do. We reach town tomorrow. Glad we got a cart now. Proteus usually doesn't haul this much."
He looks at the dead or dying bandits.
"Anyone care to dead check them or should I?"
He scratches behind Proteus' horns.
"Mmm not me. Too full," Proteus intones sleepily.
Proteus rolls over onto his back and Samuel begins rubbing his widened belly.

RETIRED

"Dead is less complicated. Trust me. They lived by the sword, now they die by it. Almost makes me happy to turn a robbery over like this. Even if we do let them live, they'll die out here one way or the other. Can anyone get to that cart before the horses wander any further?"
He stats in a matter of fact way, as if he's done this all before.
Sam is down to 6/10. He'll take one to bring back to full.

RETIRED

Proteus looks over his conquest, considering whether to send him to his belly or not.
He decides to leave him, as he already has one, and he had been acting funny before he died. Ones that did that made him sick sometimes.
He returns to Samuel who scratches him on the head and scans him with detect magic to be sure there weren't any faint glows through him from anything on the one he had already eaten.
He looks over to Lulu looking at her daring bug friend.
"Ugh. I could use one too."
He clutches a place on his side, his whip returned to his belt and his other hand on Proteus.

RETIRED

Proteus and Samuel both move in on the final target, preferring to end this with a clean sweep.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22Sam 2 hit
1d3 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5Sam-age. ;D

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12Proteus 2 hit
1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5Proteus Damage

RETIRED

Still missing something. At what range /can/ I take Aoo's?
I can't find where it says it.

RETIRED

Samuel flays the man on the ground, moving towards him as neccesary. He flexes his arms as he feels the arcane energy flow through his bond with Proteus. Sam now has small scales of the same color and pattern as Proteus.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
1d3 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

RETIRED

Samuel steps back and cracks his whip out at the one in front of him.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9To hit
1d3 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

RETIRED

Samuel moves towards one of the archers(staying at a range from him) and his whip arcs towards the bow, wrapping around it and trying to pull it out of his hand.
1d20 + 3 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 3 + 2 + 1 = 21If masterwork doesn't go to CM ignore the +1 +2 is from whip disarm +3 is cmb

RETIRED

"Looks like there's something you didn't know about this glade of yours. At least it kept you safe from what happened..."

RETIRED

Samuel gives her the date. which I am not sure on...
"Martell was big, rich, and not well liked by those outside of it. I can think of any number of reasons why someone would want it."

RETIRED

"That's your choice. I personally know that this is something I will be doing. No matter how long it takes, I'm avenging the 100's of 1,000's of lives they took."
He give the straps a jerk and hops up in his driver's seat.

RETIRED

"I had the same idea, if only for the fact that people like that don't deserve my city. I know that Proteus and I aren't strong enough now to take them on, or you all for that matter. A collective vow to become stronger and return to take them on?"
He pats Proteus' belly twice to signal that it was time to get up and moving.he stands and stretches, starting to put Proteus back in his harness.

RETIRED

"I wouldn't count on that until we get out of the desert'" Samuel intones to Nex
"We have to keep moving. A couple more days and we'll be out of the desert. Everyone ready?"

RETIRED

"I'll take what's left after everyone takes theirs. There's seven of us, so it's a little over an hour for each of us."

RETIRED

"I've got one of those. Magic just makes it easier."
He takes the firestarter and starts working on the fire. It's desert dry and soon the smell of burning wood fills the area.

RETIRED

Eventually you all struggle back to the wagon.
Samuel tosses the sheilds on the ground and snaps the spears in half over his knee, piling them on.
"Anyone got fire magic?"

RETIRED

Oh ya...
normal-people-probs

RETIRED

Better?

RETIRED

"At least once or twice a trip. They're all over the desert, picking off individual caravans stealing what they have and eating the victims. I only let Proteus eat stuff that becomes a problem and then gets resolved."

RETIRED

"Honestly, the shields and spears are better as firewood than anything else. Let's take them back to the cart and set camp up. It's getting dark."
He produces an already lit torch from his backpack and starts towards the cart, shields and spears under his other arm.

RETIRED

Samuel, used to this buisness, unstraps the shield and armor from the gnolls and piles them together with the spears they had.
He heads over into the camp and spots what's left of their past victim on a stick over the fire.
He grabs up a robe, nice, but torn in the front and bloodstained.
A belt next to it has a bag of 21 gold pieces.
Next to the fire is a broken lantern and two vials of oil to fill it.

He ends up with
2 leather armor in bloody and bad repair
2 spears, old and rusted with dried blood
1 ornate robe, blooded and torn
2 large wooden shields, full of nicks and splinters
2 vials of lantern oil
a busted hooded lantern

All on a pile.
"Take what you want. Not worth keeping to sell."
He hands 3 gold coins to each of you.
"These are out of city. Easier to use in the towns, but gold is gold. Travlers between cities are wealthy and empire coins are mostly the same in the towns."

RETIRED

"Really, this is nicer than letting them starve. Good point, that."

RETIRED

"Kill it. Not worth the time. If we leave it it'll die anyways. I get attacked by at least three of these things a trip. I've considered keeping trophies, hoping it'd keep them off, but they're probably too stupid to get that far. At least they're sometimes have some decent stolen things. Don't take any food. You won't want it."
He turns over the caster with his boot, looking at anything it might have to salvage.

RETIRED

"Misery."
He states simply, having already finished it.
"Filthy things just live to kill and eat. See what they have. Proteus can take care of the rest."

RETIRED

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24to hit caster
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22crit confirm
1d3 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6damage*2
With a swift motion, Samuel's whip is around the neck of the grounded caster, swiftly snapping it with a strong jerk and a popping sound.

RETIRED

Samuel arrives at the scene.
His whip arcs through the air, striking at the one that is not a caster.
He stays at a distance, letting his scaly blue whip close it in for him.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
1d3 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

RETIRED

Proteus shakes himself out if the pulling harness.
He makes a sort of roaring sound.

Draconic:
"I hear food!"

"Dammit!"
Samuel swears and follows after the group, whip in hand.
During the ride, his armor was donned. He knew sooner or later something like this would happen, and through the time they had been together, Proteus had grown a pavlovic response to scuffles in the desert. When they were over, it was time for food.
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18Sam initiative
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10Proteus Initiative
Proteus had 40 speed, but had to shake off the harness, so I guess it evens out.
