The whole idea of stopping at the island, and how Lady Viralane knew the water was tainted, seems suspicious to Roscoe. "If she knew the water was bad--why didn't we change it out before we left?" Sorry, I had been waiting to see which spirit I was channeling today, since it affects my RP. When Porter offers 1500 gold for the feather step slippers, Roscoe pulls them back from him. "Not a chance, I'm afraid. It appears you don't have the coin to offer market value, and if that's the case, we'll take them to someone who knows how much they're worth." He eyes the magic item and runs a finger down the tread of the shoe. Roscoe assumes a conspiratorial tone. "Say--did you hear what the wealthy are doing to stop thieves? They're installing these glue traps that keep you locked down until the authorities can get there. That's why these slippers are so great--you slip right out of that like it's not there. Or any other impediment for that matter, like the sheriff's manacles." GM: i find it most unfortunate that the Archmage spirit doesn't give me skills in Spellcraft or Arcana that I don't already have. So I can't make those rolls. I will need to put some points in them later so I can at least attempt them.

Next level I can actually use Contact Other Plane to ask my spirits questions (at the potential cost of it gaining more influence over me), which would be really cool right now. I could ask the spirit how to activate the runes! Roscoe looks at the goblin corpse with some concern, then the runes on the wall. "What do you think, Nasir? Is this something we can activate? Like, is there an order we need to touch them in or something? Or, do you think we need to do something with that javelin?" I'll cast detect magic on the javelin and the runes and concentrate for three rounds each to learn all I can from them.
