Hail all Pathfinders (specially the Brazilians)!

I'm passing here just to express how happy I am for having the Pathfinder Second Edition released in portuguese simultaneously at august 1st together with the version in english.

Really, I just don't know how to thanks Paizo and New Order giving this for us!

Starting day one in my native language is the same as living an once impossible dream. THANKS!!!

And the translation is really really good (because the translators are fans of the game), much better than I have seen in any other RPG translated here since ever.

Can't wait to receive my physical copies (I bought 2 of each book)!

The Absalom name have any inspiration in the biblical third son of Davi?

I guess that probably not, but at least the name writing just because it's a cool name?

Jim, VERY VERY VERY THANK YOU!!!

I hope the agreement between Paizo and New Order stay eternal!

You choose the best here in Brazil to work with! Really, you nailed it!

Congratulations to you all!

I think all DCs should be based on "no magic items involved".

Magic Items should make things easier, not be necessary to keep up.

Totally agree. As long as the bonus aren't too big to make skills trivial to succeed.

Isn't "no one is using Resonance Points as it should be used" enough to decide that it's useless and/or not very received/welcome and need to change drastically?

I guess resonance is more restrictive in lower levels than in medium to higher levels, so, when it really matters, it's excessively punitive to player characters.

If the problem is the spamming of CLW, why not just create some healing surge like D&D 4 (it's really good) or something like Starfinder's stamina points (but not creating two HP pools, which make the game slower)?

So, after announcing the worst crowdfunding ever yersterday (and hey, here in Brazil we love crowdfundings for RPGs, they really are the best thing happening for RPGs in the last years in our country), Devir told us that Inner Sea World Guide will be released in november, 7 (SEVEN INCREDIBLE) months after the schedule, and gave us no other information about any other products/books.

Will Paizo still accepting that total neglect and lack of care about their (and yours) customers? Will you guys be okay with your games being fully unknown here? That's so sad... :(

Please, reconsider remembering that there are other RPG publishers in Brazil. Just to list some:

*Pensamento Coletivo (Shadow of the Demon Lord, Interface Zero, and other games)
*New Order (13th Age, Shadowrun, Call of Cthulhu, 7th Sea, and other games)
*Retropunk (Savage Worlds)
*Galapagos Jogos (Star Wars Edge of Empire)

However, I'd avoid RedBox, Meeple BR and Fire on Board, which are having issues on the court due to some mess they did with D&D 5e license.

Other not so good is Jambo, kind of a "mini Devir" (with associates working/worked at both Jambo and Devir) and that publish it's own 3.5 customized game (somewhat "similar" to Pathfinder 1ed).

Please, Paizo, show us that you care about brazilian fans/customers and wanna se Pathfinder/Starfinder thriving here.

Thanks again for your attention. ;)

Will you guys review the book and point corrections?
I don't think that my very limited Portuguese would allow me to correct anything.

Thanks for the answer. Let's wait to see the final quality...

Let's wait... Again! First, it was scheduled to 2018 april, then was delayed to august, and now it's scheduled to release em september...

But more to the point, the reason that we have translation partners is that we do not have the ability to do the translations ourselves.

Did you already think about having brazilian professionals working for you, selling the PDF online and the physical books by print-on-demand or via some partner to just print it?

That way, you could assure the material released in portuguese at the same time than english, and no more brazilian fans rage upon you hehe.

Thanks again!

I now have the Inner Sea World Guide in my hands for approvals. So yes, it is very late, but it is actually in progress.

So, after more than 2 months of delay they send you ONE book of FOUR they promised to be released until june/2018? That's not so nice... but ok! Let's just hope this will have an acceptable quality (differently than the brazilian Core Rulebook and Bestiary).

Will you guys review the book and point corrections?

A nice tip to review the translation quality would be check if the Outer Planes were translated, since almost all their names are "common words" in english. None of those words are equal in portuguese so they all should be translated to give the readers the same meaning. They did this mistake in older D&D versions and can just be making again...
(The exception are Abaddon and Nirvana, since they have the same meaning in portuguese than in english.)

Here is how I think this should be translated:

Translated Outer Planes:

Abaddon = Abaddon
Abyss = Abismo
Axis = Eixo
Boneyard = Ossário
Elysium = Elísio
Heaven = Céu
Hell = Inferno
Maelstrom = Sorvedouro
Nirvana = Nirvana

I like what I see, but I'm still thinking about houseruling untrained to "level divided by 2" instead of "level -2".

I'm still waiting for an update from Devir on these issues. Thanks for your patience, all. Once I have something to announce, I'll definitely let everyone know.

No news? They put you to hold on while "they'll check for an answer"?

Friendly warning: That's all we get from them in the last years when anything about Pathfinder (and now Starfinder) is asked...

For you guys may be news, but that's all that we get from them: some poor/weak runarounds/lies that "they're looking further to give an answer".

They're just making fool of you. That's the very sad true.

As long as Paizo insist/persist on Devir, Pathfinder/Starfinder will NEVER thrive or at least be decently put up for sell or properly known in Brazil...

I wonder why he didn't mention that when he was involved in this thread. Elemental resistances being less prevalent and weaknesses being more common is a rather big deal.
Mark is very careful not to give out major system revelations in random forum posts. Especially ones that will be covered with a blog later in the planned reveal progression. He often collates information that's already been revealed, hints at things, or occasionally even reveals minor stuff...but major reveals in a non-Blog Thread? Probably not gonna happen.

Very much this. Not going to drop spoilers before the blog, but happy to mention things in their due time.

Also, PF2 weaknesses are particularly good for AoE or DoT effects, as they apply a static amount of extra damage (the 1.5x calculation on the last page is using PF1 vulnerability). So if you are fighting a bunch of monsters with weakness 25 to fire, even a tiny AoE that does minor fire damage to all of them is going to be very effective.

Newbie in the forum here. What means AoE and DoT?

Is there someplace where I can find all this abbreviations meaning?

Also, very nice! Just optimistic about the new monsters weaknesses/resistances system!

So, whay about it?

Will we remain victims of Devir lies and Paizo's complacency to Devir's infinite excuses/explanations about why not work with a huge product line that have interested customers?

Jim, keep in mind that the ONLY info that we have about Pathfinder/Starfinder in Brasil is what you told us. Devir didn't even confirmed your schedule or said ANYTHING about it. Don't be naive with those liers, just give the license to some company that will work your product and expand your brand...

Any news? Any ideas?

Any other publisher has shown interest? Anyone but Devir will make a better job. Keep that in mind.
