Rocco enters the teahouse a moment after Oren, Kurglunn safely ensconced within his subconscious. He wears a simple disguise, in that for once he isn't wearing his monstrous mask, but instead wears a simple cap and a large set of spectacles with the frames removed.

He seats himself at a small table just behind where Lirotha sits and watches out for signs of trouble. While he watches, he listens to the conversation taking place behind him and occasionally mutters responses to Lirotha.

"Hmm...sounds like we're dealing with someone with ambition. That's not necessarily a bad thing. Tell her we want to put power back in the hands of those who want to protect Kintargo from the overreaching arm of Thrune. We already have some more military types who are aligned with our cause; finding someone or a group of people who would administer rule of the city is next."

At this stage, I don't think we have the funds/means to set up much in the way of magical traps, so some form of non-magical traps/alarms seems like a good precaution. Even something like some bells over the doors, or hanging chains could be a good start.

A pet could be nice, and the faerie dragon was my first thought along those lines as well, but I'm less concerned about that if we have some form of guard corps.

I know we're moving into a phase of this adventure where we're planning to focus less on the mechanics of the rebellion, so GM Fez, would you be willing to kinda hand waive some of the specifics of the membership we have so that we can post guards as Lirotha suggests in point 3?

Spending a lot of our wealth on these kinda base-protection spells seems really low on the cost-benefit ratio to me. Something like a wand of lesser nondetection makes more sense, since we want to be able to strategize without our plans getting scried on or whatever. Any idea how much would that run us?

As for next plans, I think maybe we hit up this meeting with the potential ally, then our next move after that is to seriously consider raiding the church for those goodies. At the very least we can do some scouting to figure out what kind of defenses we might be up against.

I'd be fine with cutting the subsystem as well. I fell like it's a good opportunity for some additional NPC interactions and that sort of thing, but that hasn't been a major feature for this group, so it's just become more bookkeeping.

Wow! That's a really appropriate event after our raid on the guardhouse and Thrune's failed little "celebration"!
I'm actually really into the idea of upgrading the Hellknights, but I understand it's a pretty steep monetary cost. Still, I think being able to bypass some of the nastier events potentially is really appealing. So my vote is to spend the money!

Rocco steps out from behind a trash bin and raises his arms as the invisibility drops from around him. "We were just waiting for you, handsome!" With a downward stroke, the image of Kurglunn growing into a massive undead monstrosity appears before the guard.

Rocco and Kurglunn (fully manifested in his ectoplasmic form), stand with Oren, ready to scare off any nosy citizens or guards who return toward the barracks too soon. As soon as Lirotha takes flight, Rocco shrouds himself in invisibility as well and takes to the shadows. He also casts a spell to help him keep watch more effectively.

Rocco definitely regards Lirotha as the de facto leader for the Ravens, even if he's somewhat perturbed about it. Still, he's not ready to step up as the group's head, and no one else has done quite as much to organize the group and their allies as Lirotha.

No apologies needed for the vote not going Rocco's way, btw. I just voted based on what would tick him off the most. Soldiers doing their duty, even if he hates it: typical. Priests aligning with Thrune: despicable, but not out of character as far as Rocco has seen. But fellow citizens turning on their neighbors: they can F%#$ RIGHT OFF!

As far as the magical provisions at the rally, I think maybe Lirotha is overestimating the power available to Thrune in this city. Having even one spellcaster of the caliber you're suggesting would be remarkable, but a whole team of them ready to dispel magic or track our raven figurines back to us? That seems like a stretch. But hey, Rocco's kind of a coward, so he's definitely not planning to go marching right up onto Thrune's front door step to get ambushed.

I'm actually going to say Citizen's Group is my primary choice. They sound like some grade skeeze-balls that the rest of the populace probably wouldn't hate to see knocked down a peg, given that they are clearly Thrune lackies and not just run of the mill folks.

My only other idea of how to get through here, at least to investigate it, is for Kurglunn to go through, but I haven't brought that up yet because he'll need to swim and I don't think he'll be exceptionally talented at that. Also, I have no idea how that would work for him in regards to breathing. I would think he doesn't need to breathe, but I don't want to make any assumptions.
