@Turiel I didn't realize that you had been raging for that long. I thought that you only used one round of rage. Regardless, there was more than enough time for you to not be fatigued rn.
@Abiccka
Thankyou for the reminder. GMs forget stuff too.
@Illyan
Give me a little time to do an actual post, and then I'll look up the wording of it.
Gold star to those who already knew why the meteorite was cold. Also, that's pretty cool how much information that you knew about it, Abbi. I just started with basic information such as knowing that it'd be cold.
After much deliberation (and lost sleep) I've finally chosen the characters that I think will best fit this campaign.
The Paradox being played as 'Spooky' Fey Earthroots
The Windswept being played as Turiel Sahkoinae
The Conscript being played as Crow Irontouched
The Forsaken being played as Aʘiǃa ”Abbicka” ʘarofel
The Jinxed being played as Persephone Khors
That one guy that I bought itching cream from being played as Illyan Sobachesky
Those listed should go over to the gameplay thread and start off by writing up a bit about what happened on their journey back to Hescoy.
But Wait! There’s More
I’m contemplating running a separate table of characters due to the fantastic personalities that I can’t leave out of this. I already have some plot hooks and a beginning thought out, but I just need to finish typing it up and posting it.
The following characters are invited to participate in that:
Ommin Frost
Balthazar Heimren
Karalos Flinchy Brakros
Vincent Bloodmoon
Micarlin, Despiser of Pharasma
Sena Drovely
Hescoy is the scene of organized chaos as the occupants of the town anticipate the 100th year anniversary of their town. Everyone is busy with one task or another in the preparation of the festival, whether it's baking food, setting up the carts, or avoiding their taskmasters. If one walks the streets at this time they might see Taisalin, a street preacher to the idea of atheism, atop a cart and the small crowd of people that are listening quietly just to make him feel important. Or you might even see one an older man with a pack of wood on his pack, hoping to sell the cut wood and make a copper before the festival.
Aside from the buzz of the city, there sits a smaller log and thatch home near to a small pond and at the edge of the forest. Inside is the designated meeting place for our very own intrepid heros and heroines, and waiting within is the two men, Jerry and Simeon, packing their supplies.
@Lord Foul II
That's fine
Idk yet. I'm still going through the first stage. I'll decide later
@ToxisDragon
You know I really should have said the time I was ending it further in advance, so that's my bad. I'll totally let you still submit Corgak. Besides, his picture makes him look wild-cool
Recruitment Is Now Closed
Thankyou to everyone that has submitted a character. I have briefly looked at them, but now I will look at them each more in-depth in order to choose a the PCs I feel will be able to create an interesting and cohesive group. As I've stated before, you are not making this easy for me, because of the number of fantastic characters, and as such I expect that I will need several days to find the group. To make this go faster, I ask that each day you check your PMs for information or questions that will be passed through there.
@Omin Frost
Why was he having the scorpion sting himself. I was laughing, but really confused.
@Thornborn
:) have a good one. Thankyou for letting me know.
@Turiel Sahkoineae
This character looks pretty interesting. And yes, should you be selected I'll make sure to figure some key points out.
Attention All
I will be ending recruitment at l12 o'clock MST, so that gives everyone 5 & 1/2 more hours to finalize things if need be. I'd suggest adding your info to the roster, which can be found here, as that is what I'll be using to look at each of your characters again.
@Lord Foul II
Idk. This is my first time GMing on here, but I hope for it to last awhile. I'm planning on having you guys level up fairly often though.
@Crayfish Hora
Ooo this seems pretty interesting; loads of good stuff here. The crunch looks good as well.
@Loup Blanc
That makes sense. Winning your own freedom would be cool, but as you were a human you likely would've had more luck just escaping.
@YoricksRequiem
I laughed pretty hard at the goat Satan part. The crunch checks out as well. I like the future build idea section.
@Slyness
This guy looks pretty interesting, and the numbers check out. Forgive me if I overlooked it, but I didn't see how many levels of each clas that Vincent has obtained. Is it 2 monk +1 slayer / 3 sorcerer (G)?
@Diego Rossi
Go ahead. There's not a limit on consumables
@Rotaretilbo
I like how much you thought about how it fits into the world. Yup, I'll accept that as an additional region.
@Reckless
It looks to me as though you forgot to apply the unchained rogue's finesse training.
Dex -> damage. Also, the idea of a monk/rogue is pretty interesting, what with the monk having mastery over their body and the rogue having mastery over their enemies' bodies.
@Lord Christian D'Elegante
In your crunch It looks as though you're fighting with a rapier in either hand. To do so, you would gain a -4 penalty, not a -2.
I like the way you've written out all the bonuses though; it makes it easy to read.
@Cale Vatay
Make sure to read the original guidelines on classes.
If the character lays the dragon THAT would definitely be worthy of bard-song
H
@Rotaretilbo
The homebrew is completely apart from Golarian and any other setting, though I still may be inspired or even take pieces of things I like to add to it. Such as with dieties: Nym & Vicero are the first gods that I've thought to include in this pantheon, but as this is a relatively new homebrew, I haven't made more gods than that. As such, I'm allowing other already-made gods to be placeholders. Does that make sense?
@Sena Drovely
The diety and character look good for use. :)
@Reckless
Look for a different archetype. This one is less parts fighter, and more parts of a different class that I've never read up on.
@JonGarrett
The backstory was awesome, and insightful into Crow's drive. Good job.
@Lord Christian
It is long, and I wasn't able to read all the way through it currently. It's pretty in depth. Character looks fine so far.
@Aramus
The numbers check out. The nearest place that has gladiatorial pits would likely be in Nymopho, though the combatants would all be slaves. (Especially humans such as Aramus)
After realizing that I can no longer edit my above submission roster (lol, I'm still learning how these forums work) I decided to put it over on Google drive. It can be found here.
ATTENTION
To make it easier on myself, once you've finished making a character I'd like you to add yourself to the submission roster. I've changed the permissions to allow anyone with the link to edit it, but please don't mess with other people's names and such. Thanks :)
@Rotaretilbo
whoops! I could've sworn that you were on the list. Needless to say it's been amended. I love the section on her personality and beliefs, as I don't think I've seen someone do something quite like that during a submission
@Diego Rossi
Do you want more time?
@all
What about the rest of you? I can push the deadline back a week if you'd like to have some extra time to finish
@Phntmm88
That does check out... But it's annoying & a little silly to make it a feat. GM FIAT: you can use WF when using a bow melee
Ok guys. In order to help keep things organized I’ve created this roster of the people so far that are auditioning.
If there’s any discrepancies then let me know.
I will be updating this post as it changes.

yeah, always two levels behind. I know that some people don't care for a complex gestalt character, so that's why I chose it to be like it is.
@Ian Taranis
Looks interesting. I like the mix that you found.
@Philo Pharynx
Paul looks good so far.
@Diego Rossi
Yep. It's the same amount of levels as the other gestalts, but why not take 3 levels of wizard first for the higher-level spells, and then multiclass it sorcerer later?
@Gilthanis
Yep. It subtracts from your starting funds as normal too. If you're crafting stuff magically, then you'll need the apropraite feats as well
@Phntm88
I was a bit confused about the melee bow until I saw the empty quiver style feat. It think that weapon focus would still apply though, since it is still the same weapon even though you're using it in a way different than is typical. I like the backstory and it fits in very well with the information that I recently posted in the campaign info tab. Great minds think alike, amiright?
@EmissaryOfTheNorth
Good question, I haven't covered that yet! You can have as much pre-crafted ammo as you have money for... Just have a good reason if you decide on making 5 barrels full. Firearms are cool with me. Go ahead, but make sure to use early firearms, eh?
Do potions count against that limit? I was thinking of picking up a couple healing potions, but if it counts against the magic item limit, I probably won't do that.
I do not consider consumables magic items (not including wands)
Would I be able to use the Teleportation school from the advanced class guide? I know you were saying that we can only choose feats and spells from the book our class is from, but what about the expanded schools of magic?
Huge dot. I've been thinking about putting together a similar campaign recently except with all old people that start at a rest home. Anyways this sounds way fun, and I already have ideas for a son of the local magistrate that is very much a wuss and rule follower. He would also be continually bragging about the fact that his father is paying for him to be mentored by the local paladin.
Let us know when recruitment starts :)
@The Chess
I'm having everyone reroll the entire set if that's not too much hassle.
@Seth86
As much as you want. The main cost is the feat in my opinion :)
i.e. you can make as costly a magic item as you wish, but gold will come out of your starting magic items fund, and you'll still need the appropriate feat.
@All
After much review and player wishfullness I've decided to allow the Kineticist class from the Occult guide. Now, I still don't COMPLETELY understand the class after a readthrough, so if you wish to play the class I'll be relying on you (if chosen) to understand all the abilities inside and out. Sound good?
@drbuzzard
Looks good so far, but I didn't see a drawback. With gods I won't force you to make your own God(unless you'd like to), so you can choose one from Paizo or from something else. I'll just need a link to a page with their information.
@Gobo Horde
The swamp would've dried up about 25 years ago. Nothing too recent, but not to long ago to forget about.
Hah, your stats 'deserted' you.
Yeah, you guys can use one another's stat rolls just so long as the other player isn't using that particular set.
@JonGarrett
At first I was leaning towards a yes, but now that I take a closer look, I don't see what class feature the enlarging during rage ability replaces. How about we forget the archetype and I give you access to the following rage power
Monstrous Rage
when begining a rage, the character may choose to have their entire body expand and strengthen, as the spell Enlarge Person. Beginning a rage in this fashion takes great exertion, and as such it takes a standard action to enter the rage. Additionally, the barbarian will be exhausted, instead of fatigued for the same number of rounds as typical.
THAT'S what I forgot! Yes for traits though it'll be an exchange rate of two traits for every drawback
Do we get 2 free or is it always at least 1 drawback?
Also, the campaign info only mentions core races - are others pretty discouraged or okay with a solid backstory?
Always at least 1 drawback
Those are the only ones I've gotten to as of yet due to the staggering amount of races. You're not discouraged. I'd actually encourage you to PM me suggestions for how other members of that race might live in that region if the race isn't already covered.
Question. If we go gestalt, are we starting at level 3 and progressing as normal, or are we playing a -2 level penalty. That is to say, later in the game (and assuming medium XP progression), would a gestalt player be 10k XP behind a non-gestalt player, or always 2 levels behind?
I've discovered that dealing with experience is always a pain in the neck (especially in PBP). Yeah, you'll always just be a flat -2 for both classes.
@The Pale King
Good question. I was thinking about a temperate climate with short winters. There would be lots of rain, but not enough to make it a rain forest area by any standards as it's mostly large pines and redwoods.
Hmmmm size. I would have to say that Hescoy would be a fairly average-sized city, so after consulting the Settlement guide I would have to say that there would be anywhere upwards of 6,000 people living in or in farmsteads close to Hescoy.
As I have been on these boards for less than a year I haven't had any burnout yet (thank goodness), but I have experienced burnout on other websites. I used to write jokes for a page on Twitter for quite some time nearly every day. It was fun at first, but then it got to be pretty tiresome after I had used most of my good ideas, and severe writer's block was kicking in. I eventually took a leave of absence, and looking back it was a pretty good choice to do so in order to take a rest and refocus my creativity. Glad to see that you're finally back though! Btw, is your AVI and username a reference to Warcraft (the older strategy-based one)? If so, I loved the game and the reference.
Since I'm going with someone with extreme anger management issues (I mean, without Kineticist available and all that Con, I might as well go Barbarian) would the Half-Ogre third party race be acceptable? I can probably do the same background with a Half-Orc, but this seems suitably fun and hitty.
After looking at it I like the balance, and love the flavor. Go for it.
THAT'S what I forgot! Yes for traits though it'll be an exchange rate of two traits for every drawback

Oh, one suggestion, since you're going max healing out of combat, you might want to consider one of my house rules, which is on spells which need a caster level check to remove an effect (neutralize poison, remove paralysis), you allow the caster to take 20 when out of combat.
.
I did a mock-up of the character I'd like to play on this sheet. I went with the Physical Examplar archetype, obviously I haven't gotten permission to use it yet, but I can easily convert her to whatever ends up being allowed.
Basically, she wants to carve out a little part of the world to be her oyster, and that's what she's been up to for the last couple years.
She's perhaps not a good person, and at this point doesn't honestly doesn't care about those labels. Still, she has very fond memories of her friends, and will help them however they need.
That looks great so far. +1 for your initiative.

Intrigued by the stat generation. Not sure what to play, but let's see what I roll.
@Reallife Corn, I'm interested in the cavalier class, but not at all the mount aspect of it. Would you allow one of the following archetypes from Rogue Genius Games?
All of them replace the Mount, Cavalier’s charge, Expert trainer, Mighty charge, and Supreme charge abilities.
They're something called "archetype packages", but you don't have to read or understand about that to rule on the archetypes.
Basically, I like the "honorable/oathbound warrior" aspect of the cavalier class, but I don't like the mounted-charge angle, and I want to get rid of it in exchange for something.
Yup. That's a go for those packages :)

So...weak, but smart and charismatic(Wizard/Sorcerer Gestalt? lol). Is the reroll of one stat(in which case I'll reroll STR), or is it a reroll of all 6?
Hey, guys. I've been thinking about putting together a group that I can GM for on these forums for awhile (I've GMed on other forums but the group fell apart). Below will be the specifics of the campaign, including what I feel would be good for character creation guidelines, and for the basic feel of the campaign. I'm open to all kinds of suggestions though.
Beginning
The campaign starts off with the PCs meeting up with some old friends of theirs from their younger years. The PCs will have lived in Hescoy Hamlet at some earlier part in their lives and later went off somewhere in the wide country of Elensafier for a variety of reasons.
Recently, the PCs have each recently received a letter from their NPC friends, detailing a plan for the “old group” to get together to celebrate the week-long celebration of Hescoy Hamlet’s 100 year anniversary. On the first night there will be a kickoff of a firework show. Because of this, NPCs Simeon and Jerry have made plans for the group to hike up to a hill several miles from town in order to get the best possible view, and then camp overnight, “just like old times.”
Player Expectations
This will be a sandbox campaign, where I will have many different interconnecting plots running all at the same time. The PCs will be in charge of choosing what they want to focus un, and I will be here to help facilitate. That being said, I still would like to have a lively campaign that doesn’t stagnate, so I am not above doing a little GMPCing as needed in order to keep the pace up. A rough requirement of one good post a day will be in order, though I understand if real life gets in the way. If you expect to not be able to post on certain days let me know ahead of time.
Also, did you notice that in the Build Expectations section I didn’t have anything about alignments? That’s because I do not care what your alignment is (in fact I don’t want to even know what it is unless a game mechanic hinges on it), so long as your character is both fun and likable. Be as much a team player as you can, but don’t be afraid of having inter-party drama so long as it doesn’t get out of hand. Remember, though your characters have been life-long friends, that doesn’t mean they cannot have disagreements.
Character Build Expectations Stats: 3d8 in order of ability scores, though you may reroll once if you wish.
Classes: Anything from Core, Advanced Class, Ultimate Combat, Ultimate magic, and Unchained, though summoners must always be unchained. Basically everything but Occult, or 3rd party classes.
Archetypes: Only one per class that you take. I generally like most 3rd party archetypes if you ask nicely before you apply them.
Race: Anything that’s reasonable. In other-words, don’t play a Trox unless you wow me with a hilarious and intriguing backstory. Also, look at the campaign info tab for more information on races.
Background: Nothing too intricate, or over a page. Maybe tell about several accomplishments in their life, or something fun.
HP & Skills: Background skills are a go. HP is max at first level, and then average +1 ever level thereafter.
Level & Wealth: Start as 5th level characters to represent that you aren’t total newbs. 500 gp worth of nonmagical gear, and 1-3 magical items totaling no more than 10,000 gp.
Drumroll Please: You may be Gestalt if you wish, just so long as you are two levels lower than typical.
Others: Since this campaign has been made by me, you as players will be able to manipulate this in a way that you weouldn't be able to do in a published campaign. In other words, if you have an idea for an organization or God that you think would be a good fit, then run it by me.
Additional information for the campaign can be found in the Campaign Info Tab
FYI
I’ll be adopting a couple different things that I’ve seen, and others that I just have picked up over the years (Note: I may add more):
Block initiative: I’ll be rolling everyone’s initiative.
Healing Spells always automatically roll max unless you’re in a combat situation or under stress
This sounds extremely fun, and I've always wanted to play an all goblin campaign. There's so much fun you can have with goblins, especially with classes that you wouldn't normally see them in. I once had a female goblin character that used to be a dancer, but was shamed in front of a crowd for being a goblin. She took to wearing heavy armor with a tower shield as a result. haha, the tower shield was so much fun, because the DM ruled that you could do kickflips with it if you rolled a high enough acrobatics. Anyways, I'll put together something in the next day or two, and it might be something that goblins wouldn't normally be.
On a side note, how long will recruitment last? (I didn't see it in the main post, but if it is you can bop me in the head)
