"If we had a desalinator that would take care of the water problem... haven't seen any flares," says the noble. He fiddles idly with his communicator, checking for other frequencies in use in the area. While most of the Mon Cala population lives underwater, having satellite communications to the rest of the galaxy means that they have to send some kind of signals out of the water, and that might be trackable.

Note the purchase of the vehicle is largely because of the "spend it or lose it" clause. There just isn't enough expensive gear to make up to my Wealth level right now, so I had to go looking for something that would be useful and worth a good chunk of change. I am absolutely fine with it being "somewhere else that we will get to later," I just didn't want to actually have money (and by extension, a Talent pick) go to waste.

Some shades of Starfall in that adventure. Ral's the last one up into the walker, after OOM, clinging to one of the retracting lines. He casts about for one of the jump seats in which troops usually sit while awaiting deployment from the walker, then buckles himself in and makes an odd sort of motion with his jaw - apparently trying to make sure that he doesn't clench his teeth, as he might risk breaking his jaw if there's a sudden jolt during the descent. As the walker makes its way through the atmosphere, he clenches his hands on the jump-seat's grips with each sudden shift, doing his best to keep steady though the group's fate is out of their hands at that point. Finally as the walker splashes down improbably into Mon Cala's oceans, he remains seated for a good additional minute, before glancing around to make sure that nobody fell out during the tumultuous descent. "Everyone still intact?" he says finally.

"I know I'm a terrible person," quips the Onderonian. "If you want someone to scrub the music from your memory I'm sure that can be arranged once we're out of here." "Wasn't really planning on being a 'Rebel' per se, but I suppose that decision has been made for us." The nobleman brushes back his hair as he moves quickly through the cramped vent.

The noble holds his hands up in a conciliatory fashion - letting the fire extinguisher dangle from his thumb in one case - and says to Dara, "Hey - hey. I see you have a lot on your mind. But we need to get out of here. We'll try to stop him - Baldwin's a real piece of work and needs to be stopped - but we still need to figure out how to keep ourselves alive, too." He offers a gentle smile and says, "C'mon, we're in this together. I know I can count on you, and I'll do my best to make sure you can count on me. Deal?"

"So stealing the shuttle, once again, seems to be the leading candidate. Deprive him of the comms on it, and of his opportunity to flee the ship. At some point to get to it he'll have to leave the bridge. So either we get there first and slice it so that we can override his safeties, or we ambush him en route and get his codes, then take the shuttle and high-tail it out of here."

The noble says wryly, "Compare that to how many people die in an Imperial occupation of a planet." Then he shakes his head. "Look, morality isn't a form of calculus. Lives are valuable regardless, and the moral choice is to minimize harm. That said, our ability to do so is also very limited. We are way out of our depth, dealing with a paranoid Imperial commander who has likely set up traps and failsafes over and above the usual security that Imperial ships have. If you absolutely must save the ship, the simplest way is just to make sure that he can't transmit the order to fire to the other ships in the fleet. How you get there depends on what route we think we can accomplish: Whether by trying to confront him personally, or by disabling the communications array via direct sabotage or going to a control station - in Engineering or the Bridge - and shutting it down." The languid nobleman idly puts the safety back on his blaster and holsters it.

"This is a terrible plan, except for the alternatives," grumbles the nobleman. He sighs and brings his hands together in an odd triangular gesture, then starts slowly twisting his fingers together in a series of strange postures. "Don't mind me. Just nerves." Use the Force: Breath Control: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11 Soooooo dead of asphyxiation then.

"Are they wearing Imperial uniforms? If not, then either they're boarders, or they are civilian contractors, or they are other escaped prisoners," reasons the noble. "I'm a bit curious about how you mean to put people in suspension, but if we find an emergency trauma kit maybe we can find a drug that will do the trick." Current Campaigns
