I am actually level 5 now, so would have to adjust my character sheet.

I do have a level 2 character, if that is preferred (Champion).

Raini, a fey-touched druid with Sasha, his panther animal companion, would love to participate. Raini has considerable experience in diplomacy and is an adept healer.

Raini recently achieved level 5. I will update the character information accordingly in short order.

"Stop this nonsense at once! Haven't we all suffered enough? Dorobu might have taken advantage of the situation but he is not the one that murdered your companions!" shouts Raini as he advances on the group, his arms waving wildly.

To Ti Lan and Dorobu, "I am sick of the bloodshed. Sick of the hate. Sick of it all. Let's move out and honor the dead and their sacrifice with dignity and respect, not more animosity and brutality."

To Dorobu specifically, "And you. You stole a precious item from these fine people and now openly mock them. I offered you protection when the witch and her minions attacked. What did you do because cower and lose the relic? My patience is wearing mighty thin. If you can't be civil and respectful, then be on your way. Effective immediately, my offer of protection has been rescinded. Not only will I not intervene should you provoke anyone here. Mark your next words carefully, my friend."

The standard task level is Level-2, which puts it at 2. I am Expert in my skill (Diplomacy) and scored a critical success. That puts it at Level 3 expert task success.

By my count, that is 8 days x 5 sp = 4 gold total. Correct?

As everyone is gathered together, Raini uses his last scroll to heal everyone within a thirty foot radius. That gets the immediate party, the wounded Pathfinders as well as the Dorobu, if he is still with us.

Taking his cue from Arlen, Raini takes a darker turn.

"Let me guess...A ravaging beast was attacking a guarded caravan. People were dying left and right. You thought, hey, pretty soon nobody will be alive to enjoy this trinket and you took it." offers Raini, clearly unhappy with the tact of the kitsune. Frustration clearly evident on his face and in the tone of his voice.

Dorobu casts a skeptical look at the monk...

"Stand down everyone. Please! Stand down. I am positive we can resolve this amicably. My momma always said, when things change inside you, things change around you. Be the beacon of hope the world needs right now." states Raini to his companions. To Sasha, he motions for her to lie down to show no threat. She plops down and begins licking her paw.

To the kitsune, he offers, "We will reciprocate peace on you brother. Return what was taken and we can all be on our way.". He does so honestly and respectfully.

As he finishes talking he looks around to his companions to gauge their reactions, a pleading look in his eyes to maintain the fragile peace.

Raini makes an impassioned plea to the current possessor of the green scarf.

"Good sir, please here me. We honestly mean you no harm, though it may have appeared otherwise. Our guard is up, our patience has worn threadbare thin, and our reserve measure of compassion has been mostly depleted. This forest and inhabitants of the Spirit Road have been less than kind to myself, my faithful companions and our other friends whom you have met previously. Please understand that they are honest and hard-working people who have suffered most grievously by a ferocious beast. Several have died simply to deliver some cargo. One particular item is in your possesion. I respectfully request that you return the item and we can both part ways better for it. What say you good being?" waxes Raini both passionately and philosophically.

If you need to roll, then I apologize for rolling. If this does NOT sway the kitsune, I wish to use a Hero point to reroll.

Raini will command Sasha to seek out the kitsune. Both the druid and the panther will stride and seek the thief.

Raini will attempt to diplomatically convince the fox-like creature to turn over the goods.

"After the last slog with the poracha, I'm not eager for another slugfest. Should we at least try to talk to this one? It looks intelligent." asks Raini.

Raini is thankful his teammates are eager to end. He takes his cue and instantly begins to track the creature who stole the green scarf.

Raini listens intently, empathizing with their plight. After concluding their story and sharing the details, the tiny gnome nods.

"You both have been through a great ordeal. We will be making special not to the Venture Captain of your loyalty, bravery and courage. Not every mission turns out ideally and you have done spectacularly well under the circumstances. offers Raini sincerely.

"As Pathfinders, we still have a mission. We will seek out the Green Scarf. We will do what needs to be done to return it. While battered and bruised, we are up for the challenge. A brief respite may be in order though before we press on." continues the druid.

"I have a mission for you as well. As we depart, can you two stay with your caravan and guard it? I know you are weary. I know you are ready to return home. It shouldn't be for too long, we hope. What say you?" asks Raini. The druid strokes his panther gently as he waits for an answer from the pair.

Also, I updated my last in-game post to include my dice roll for Sense Motive.

Tell you what - going to "stay behind the curtain" for now, but after our game, if you have any particular questions about how any specific part of the game was adjudicated, I will be an open book. Deal?

Raini relaxes as Lin Po and Ti Lan come to terms with the team and relax. Avoiding confrontation is ideal in this situation, to be sure.

"Relax everyone. We are all on the same side. Our orders came from the very same place as yours. Besides, my mamma once said - you can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs. Same goes with adventuring - you can't help but to get a few cuts and bruises along the way. It was a tough battle to get to you, but here we are. Perhaps collectively we can retrieve your missing items and make it home safely. What do you say?" offers the druid diplomatically.

Raini will use Diplomacy to befriend the skeptical Ti Lan.

Boons Slotted - Boons - Besides the Infernal Detonation I used, I have Cryptid Scholar (rereoll knowledge check to identify a creature) and Experienced Mountaineer (treat steep mountainous terrain as difficult terrain). Also slotting Envoy's Alliance Champion.

I have other gear, including magical expendables, listed in my character profile.

"Fair warning. If we see another poracha, I'm running the other way." states the diminutive gnome, half seriously. He shakes his head and begins to inspect his gear and redistribute it, trying to keep busy so he doesn't dwell on how close that battle really was.

After waiting 10 minutes or so, to recharge his primal focus, Raini will use his animal totem focus to heal his companion.

Heal Animal focus spell, 2-action casting: 2d8 + 16 + 1 ⇒ (6, 6) + 16 + 1 = 29

Raini smiles and wipes a tear away as Sasha's grievous wounds mend. He whispers to her, "I'm sorry you suffered these wounds my dear. I'm sad it came to violence at the hands of a fey creature. I owe you my life and my gratitude.".

The druid then pulls out a scroll from his pouch and uses it to cast a heal spell on himself.

Heal spell from scroll: 1d8 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 8 + 1 = 12

"Arlen, I am out of healing scrolls with the exception of a second level spell. I do have a minor healing potion you are free to use to heal the remainder of your injuries." offers the druid.

Wow, what a fight. Sneak is the devil! :( I nominate Keemul, for standing guard over the prone Lucian and Donavin for the valiant death stand!

Raini will immediately stabilize Donavin so that the healing potion from Keemul will maximize effect.

"I will heal us all, the best I can. I will start with the severely injured." begins the druid. "That fight could have gone very bad for us. I can't imagine why that beast would take such delight in our blood and misery. It makes little sense, but that is the fey sometimes." offers Raini.

I used one 1st level Heal spell from my prepared spells, one from my staff of healing and my Heal Animal focus spell. I used Stabilize, but that is a cantrip. That leaves 2 staff 1st level heal spells and my 2 scrolls of 1st and 2nd level.

Raini uses the two remaining staff charges to heal Donavin and Lucian. Both are targeted spells to maximize the healing dose.

Heal spell for Lucian: 1d8 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 8 + 1 = 15
Heal spell for Donavin: 1d8 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 8 + 1 = 15

Raini quickly bandages his wounds and comforts Sasha as he takes a breather to rest and meditate.

Raini will stabilize Lucian with a cantrip, bringing him out of death's door and at least stable, breathing and not bleeding.

With his remaining action, Raini will direct Sasha to seek out the Poracha and attack it.

Keemul, I suggest you change your actions since you couldn't reach Lucian and administer the potion. Your call. Also, we still have hero points. I advise using them if we can turn the tide.

I keep everything meticulously tracked in GM spoilers. Raini/Sasha add 6 challenge points to the party.

Hey, not picking a fight. Just venting frustration. I get the sneaking and the terrain. Our team is full of melee prominent and spellcasters. Couple that with a huge advantage to his stealth and our perceptions and it makes readying an action quite tough.

The AC is the biggest factor that I have seen. We are missing terribly, even on somewhat high to-hit rolls.

I'm sure we'll get through it. No worries. Just hope my healing spells hold up. :-p

Forgot to add this reaction. Please use at the next opportunity. (↺) Infernal Detonation - A creature within 30' of you targets you or an ally with an attack; Effect - The creature takes fire damage equal to 1d6 + 4 (my level). Basic Reflex save for 1/2 damage. DC = 20.

Raini will direct a targeted healing spell from his staff of healing at his gravely injured animal companion. He will then direct his comrade to seek out the enemy again and attack.

+13 to hit on its first attack and +9 on its second
It is striking twice a round AND moving twice
It has +13 to sneak coupled with terrain/cover bonuses, making our attempts to spot it extremely difficult
It has an AC of 25 or higher (Sasha struck adjacent in melee at +22 while flanking and missed)
It fights to the death or has well over 65 hit points

The black panther sprints across the distance to fight off the beast, occupying the very spot Raini departed from. Once there, the panther takes a bite!

To arms!" shouts the tiny druid as he jumps down from the wagon, crouching under it for cover. The druid then launches a spell, pointing at the area behind them.

Raini will stay on the wagon and use Detect Magic in an attempt to spot the Poracha. Being a magical creature, it should help them fine-tune the search. The druid directs Sasha to use her scouting techniques to seek out the fox-thief and poracha as well.
