Zokon also advises each of the others that they as having large roles in the new lands should also get appropriate clothes so we can all make a good impression.

Posh gives a smirk as he thinks about what he could potentially buy. He seems to go into a daydream of somesort before he looks for robes that are both fairly extravagant and with flashy colours that scream the element of Chaos. Something incredibly garish and would be a head-turner.

Durgan would offer to employ her as just a healer. With his own money. To avoid arguments.

If you wish to spend your own resources (gold, cohort slot, etc.) on giving her a different job and training her for that, that is your prerogative. As your Cohort she could level up and perhaps become the secret agent you envision. I do not think that "we" should employ her as anything more than a healer and do not wish to argue over the use of common funds. So I propose that either Alia or Durgan (or someone else) hire her but not "the party."

Tiefling looks are one "curse," I get that, and Wrecker is another. But thrice-damned? What's the third thing?

Posh will take some time to thank the Tiefling and promise to come back to chat some more once they return from the north.

That said, no, because there's been so much change with the maturing rate and lifespan of mixed-races. So I'll work something out with GM if it comes to that.

Perhaps a half-way as I'm assuming it'll be a half-elf of somekind.

Oh yeah, tell me about banks...

When we got our second kid, money was a bit tight - Car broke, Washing Machine broke, some circumstances simply got together that went beyond our "on-hand"-emergency fund.
So, we tried to withdraw some money from our savings.
The bank flat out told us that was not possible, because the savings account was originally opened in my SO's home town.
And we would need to go there and have the data updated, then we could come back and withdraw.
One of us was working 60 hours a week in 2 jobs, the other was 39th+ week pregnant, and they wanted us to take a long trip to get the savings book update because they are unable to do that between different branches?
We ended up taking a loan from a different bank, then repaid it later when we dissolved our savings account from the afore-mentioned bank.

I do hope things work out for you and best of luck finding a better banking option for you. We did, and have not regretted it.

Hopefully this new government of ours is far smarter than mine. Especially as we bailed out banks, but didn't bail out a travel company that was leaving people stranded overseas.

Poshbot whirls and capers out of sight (and scene).

"I'll be back later this week!" he cries as his feet carry him away.

To Zokon there does not seem to a single source, but a small string orchestra playing all about them. Alia is ready to pounce herself but doesn't find a willing and open target.

Slowly, the music turns, and becomes that late-night tavern standard whose lyrics Illthir interjects into the mix. Aided of course by Victoria's light magic and a few of those small squares of mirror that men at camp use for shaving.

The smoke disperses after a minute of this. And because Illthir's choice of song is sooo long whatever other enchantments there are seem to fade, and strengthen repeatedly over the course of the minutes long performance. In these times some members of the camp who where not taken by the spirit of the music are and those that were might find temporary reprieve, or no forced compulsion to dance at all beyond their own appreciation of the art.

The music finally comes to an end, leaving most of the men at camp breathless and staring about. And a few covering up because women are present.

And then off in the distance party can hear a jarring, but plainly victorious tune that fades to nothing under the eaves.

"How? By farting on us all?" he calls out in an attempt to piss the voice off as he was struggling to find his way, getting up and drawing out his blade to fight whatever this was.

Does Posh recognise the voice at all?

I thought Posh was in the watch order? Also I assume Posh is still asleep.

I was tempted to vote for myself as ruler since, that's what Posh would do, but considering Alia and Zokon appear to have become a pair it would be just seen as kinda petty jealousy so he's gone with the popular vote.

To some extent, this is practical.
Both Alia and Zokon have reasons to consider it such.

But be certain that Alia will not forget your help with her blade.
We have no idea what it will cost...but she will not have you carry that burden by yourself.

Consort? Makes sense that it would certainly be a practical situation.

It will be interesting for the cost, but as a player I'm also curious about when Raven will appear again and Posh, having no idea of the dramatic interlude, will not have any reason to think she might kill him apart from his own paranoia.

Certainly a interesting turn of events. I wonder what will happen with this nation and who is going to be doing what. Are Alia and Zokon going to be rulers?

Zokon engages in the embrace finding it more comforting than he imagined.

He then bring his face before hers and engages in a short kiss while looking into Alia's eyes.

The uncertainty of just how far he should go is evident on his face to Alia, but he does seem very sincere.

Posh sighs but smiles, happy for the two of them to have found each other. Chances were things wouldn't have worked out between the two of them and she wouldn't be in danger if the Barbarian King decided to kill him, but he hadn't heard nor seen anything about him so it could've been his paranoia speaking.

"Zokon, you better make her happy or I just might steal her off you." he joked, but did look to her blade, wondering about what he'd have to pay for retrieving it.

Perhaps we should create a floating city and call it Laputa!

If the female Half-Elf Illthir(who also was a former Grey Maiden) turns out to be the Gnome Posh's Father, I will literally retrain into Summoner and get a Balrog Eidolon I'll name "Fly".

So every time someone goes "OMG what's that?" I can stand proud shouting "Fly, you fools!"

Illthir will get some really high boots, a black robe and a voice modulator and simply decree "YOUR DARK LORDS COMMAND IT!" whenever someone questions our rule ... :P

Andriel does take note of the gnome though. He doesn't say a word. He just stands there watching Posh with those cold, critical, blue, elven eyes until the gnome leaves.

I had mentioned it a few times, but so long as as everyone in the party is within a level, or so of each other it's fine with me if you are aiming for HARD mode. "Alia, do you believe peace can be brokered with the Kobolds? They have not been known to be honourable creatures." he states, looking uncomfortable with the suggestion, but not outright aiming hatred at the scaleykind "I'm worried they may turn on us if they become desperate enough."

When she sees Illthir trying to catch up to Sneeg, Scarlet snorts. "Oh, leave the old man to die. If he tries to return to the camp, Akiros is gonna run him through. Besides, I'm not gonna let anyone get hurt at Oleg's. Never again."

Posh nods heavily in agreement, thinking back to the loss of Oleg.

With the alarm going off, Posh attempts to counter and bolster his party mates by chiming in with an oddly beautiful and upbeat melody. He spends the rest of his action remaining where he is and hoping his song carried on the wind towards the party, but he does eye Mikmek suspiciously that they may have been led into a trap of some kind of the kobold should do something to defuse the situation.

Posh, though tired manages to find the strength to keep on and not simply fall asleep in the saddle. However he fails to pay much attention, listening to the music of their fey companion.
"Erevenywg, I have to ask. How did you know it was me when I was disguised back at the Manor?" he guessed she must've had some kind of special sight that gazed through illusions.

Alia nods to Scarlets answer, then adds: "If you are growing tired of reinforcing fortifications, feel free to gather and stockpile materials instead. There's at least a couple bridges that need to be built or rebuilt nearby, and that takes a lot of wood. Basically, make sure to keep the people who stayed busy and focused on a goal until we are back. We'll try to hurry up!"

Sound good to me. Unless we are short a horse and that would slow us down. In that case we could leave Erevenywg behind...

Posh nods, smiling at the chance to be on the road again, though possibly more so due to travelling with Alia once again.

"Well, yeah, but that's only because the men didn't really trust Dovan--the man was a snake." says the man with the rag-covered Iomedaean longsword. "What do you even want me to do with them?"

"For the moment I recommend start on making repairs to the fort and await our return. Even if all repairs are made, the defences need repairing, the dead need burying and without us you should have plenty of food." the Gnome spoke up as he hoped to calm his anxiety.

Something about war is coming and I need to bring the smooth skins with me." he shrugged but wasn't sure what to say to the others as he was thinking about what to do or what the group should go before attempting to speak back to him in a more refined, but not dragon perfect draconic.

"Oi, listen up!" Scarlet gathers a crowd. "The Stag Lord is dead. Here's his helmet, torn off his scraggly body."

"THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU PREY UPON THE WEAK! Restov is en route to hang every bandit they see when they get here."

"But I've got a better idea. Turn legit and guard our fort. You do that, and Restov will give you a meal and a bed instead of a prison and a noose. A much better plan, eh? We have to clean this place of the zombies and a whole lot of cataloguin'. If you help, you get to eat. If you don't like it, take a hike and become a farmer. Yes. Those are the places officially mapped and explored. There will the chance to do a little more before we transition into the next book, but time will be a thing, so if there's a hex or two (or twelve) that you want to map before heading back now's your chance.

We could find out if the ghost is happy with the body and keep the head for the Brevic authorities? After all, he's dead regardless. That's Posh's opinion is that dead bodies are dead bodies and he should be happy with that. Then again...Posh did make a deal with a creature living in the darkness of a well for a certain person's irreplaceable sword so...

Now that the immediate threat of the explosive barrels is past, Victoria is intrigued by them. "What was this Stag Lord planning to do with all of this? You all saw the size explosion the other barrels made. This could blow up a town." She shudders momentarily remembering how the creepy dark elf threatened to do gods-know-what to her. "We may want to finish searching this place to make sure there aren't any more surprises."

Posh remains silent for a moment, shaking his head as he looks at the explosives and remembered what he heard about Oleg.

"Hold sir, we do not need to fight!" Posh shouts as he tries to calm the situation with his magic to try and enchant him.
