Male Half-orc Witch Doctor
With the fight over, Ossok pushes past the thugs, growling just faintly behind his mask as he marches up deck. Ossok continues at his job of deck swabbing, minding his own business until approached by Doc. "Ossok do what spirits guide him to do. Ossok still little bruised for day before, but will be okay. Do not fret. Each person has different usefulness. Ossok lucky to be reunited with mask," he says while slightly tapping it with his hand. "You will also find what you need soon, Ossok sure of it." I was already in bed. I'm assuming I'm woken up by this or something? Init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22 Also, word of GM advice: It's a lot easier and faster to roll all the PCs' initiative for them, rather than waiting for everyone to check in and roll. In my experience with GMing PbP, it gets combats moving a lot quicker.

Ossok is at a loss for words when the red-haired woman brings him his most valued possession. He stands there staring at the mask for seemingly an eternity, though in reality only moments pass. Once he finally regains his composure, the half-orc looks up at the woman. "Ossok owes you a life debt. Whatever you need, Ossok will help you until debt is repaid. What is your name?" He keeps his mask concealed for now, as to not draw attention to the fact that he has it once again. Fort Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Despite its potency, the rum seems to barely have any notable effect on Ossok. Perhaps he is just so consumed with the relief of finding his mask again. During the night, he retires straight to his bunk, propping the mask up so he can look at it while laying down. He spends the next couple of hours in this state, and eventually falls asleep, comforted by his company.

Ossok stares coldly at Plugg the entire time, not flinching away once during the morbid scene. When the body comes back up, Ossok looks at it and turns to Maera (or whoever is near him) and says, "Boy died long before making it around bottom of ship. At least it was quick for him."

Ossok swabs the decks as ordered with no complaints. Even though he can feel some of his old, lost anger bubbling inside with the theft of his mask, he does his best to keep it in check. Throughout the day's duties, he will approach Maera (if she is okay with talking while working.) "Hope fall did not bruise too much. Let Ossok know if need wounds tended to later."

Ossok is surprised he isn't more wounded from the impact. He must've landed in such a way to lessen the damage to any internal organs or bones. Regardless, he lays for a moment to regain his composure before rising again. "Was never good at climbing." He eventually makes eye contact with Malak, momentarily relieved to see at least one other half-orc on the ship. He nods at Malak in acknowledgment, and then eyes the dwarf that suffered a similar fate as his own. Instinctively, Ossok walks over to the injured Diabolito to ease his pain, and begins an arcane incantation. Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

As Ossok slowly comes to, the first thing he instinctively reaches for is his face. And then, panic and anger suddenly wash over him. Oh no. Oh no. Mask, where is it? Father, no. Oh no. Seeing others he vaguely remembers from the tavern just seemingly moments before... Or was it an eternity? Either way, he immediately realizes what has happened. He remains silent during the exchange between the woman and the captain. Is she insane? Why would she single herself out like that? In these situations, Ossok knows it's best to try and avoid as much attention as one can. When the whip comes out and the orders to climb are barked, Ossok wastes no time in complying. Won't get mask back if starting fights. Feel so naked without. Climb: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
After climbing nearly halfway to the top, Ossok feels the rigging shift from his grip. He can feel the fall coming, so he closes his eyes and embraces what's to come.

Ossok certainly stands out among the crowd of patrons at the Maid. He stands tall at a bit over 6 feet with a muscular physique to accompany his imposing stature. He wears little compared to most men, his torso mostly exposed above the haramaki he wears around the waist. His skin his a dark shade of grey that has many scars across it. He wears a strange, wooden grotesque mask that he rarely ever removes. It's painted in various shades of red with intricate shapes and symbols that are difficult to discern. The flowing mane of mangy, black hair flows down from his head around the mask. When he wears it, his half-orc heritage is barely recognizable except to those with exceptionally trained eyes. While he sat in the tavern, Ossok would ocassionally remove his mask to drink, revealing even more scars that cross his face. Several of them look scabbed, as if they were fairly fresh. A close observant would hear the sound of healing skin being ripped as the mask is removed from his face.
Well, in terms of storyline, the only ones available that have a connection to the Ruby Phoenix plot are higher-level games. In terms of progression, I believe the Ruby Phoenix Tournament itself (11th level module) is next, and then Wonders in the Weave Parts 1 and 2 (levels 5-9) take place after that. If you're just looking for fun scenarios to play though, here are some of my favorites (with their level range included): Mists of Mwangi (1-7)
