Sorry folks. Work has kicked my ass this week. I'll probably be able to get caught up on Thursday, but for now, just know I haven't disappeared.

Thanks again for all the condolences, folks. So I feel good enough to come back now. A bit better able to focus.

Thanks. I may want to talk about it tomorrow. For tonight, I'm probably heading on to sleep.

So, my cat was at the vet this past week and came home on Friday after being diagnosed with a horribly fatal disease called Feline Infectious Peritonitis (or FIP). Last Sunday, the 29th, she was failing, but she stabilized over this past week. She rallied on Saturday. I won't go into details or specifics (send me a message if you want that), but I took her Monday for a second opinion at a different vet. FIP was confirmed, and I was gently told that there truly was not much to be done. They could either stretch her out for a few days, or we could put her down today, because her body could fight no longer.

So I did the tough decision and put her down. We had several of my friends and my dad there with me, which was a great help. I cried and am still crying on and off. It's going to be a truly tough day tomorrow. Today, though, I just have no creative energy.

I'm going to try and post tomorrow, but if I'm needed before then, please bot me.

Work has been kicking my ass the last couple days, so I'll try to post tonight. Sorry for disappearing for so long.

"Well that's...weird. Very, very weird..." Olhas says quietly, stroking his chin as he peers at the chest.

"This...whatever it is inside...It's old. So very old, and I have no idea what some of the magic involved in it is."

No worries!

Olhas works to help Alistar improve crew morale initially.

Diplomacy (Aid): 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28

He then focuses himself on seeing what weather is coming for them, keeping them abreast of any weather changes. In between his watching of the horizon, he dips in and out of the water, keeping himself relaxed, before returning to the boat.

Nature: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20

Once he has done that bit of due diligence, he focuses all of his attention on figuring out about the chest they've been given, not entirely trusting of the response that happened when the dragon gave it to them. His eyes glow an oceany blue, as he focuses on the nature of this item.

Detect Magic
Arcana: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24

I'm gonna need a little time to figure out what Olhas will do.

I like option #2. That way it gets us started over again. I am trying to remember how this guy was built. I think it was a lot of sonic spells, especially Ear-Piercing Scream.

I'm still here.

Happy New Year!

Just had a long chunk of nasty shifts be over so I'm in a lot of pain. I've only managed to post once a day, for the past couple days, but only been able to pick and choose one group to post to each time. Lot of pain today, but I'm getting a massage soon, so I should be back in working order and caught back up on posts within a few hours. Sorry for the delay.

You need not wait on me this time. Sorry. Had a bad asthma flare up and I'm just now getting back up to steam. Heading to bed now, and tomorrow is a long busy day. But I promise, tomorrow evening, I'll try to be back up to speed.

Nature: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

Olhas shrugs, looking at the items and feeling like he should know these items, even as the knowledge seems to be eluding him.

"Well, there still is plenty of this place to explore, I would imagine?"

Perfect day for it, eh?

Still here as well!

Oww! That was painful! I may need someone to dmpc me. Something like burning hands or something to get me out of danger a bit.

"Let's see your weapon stand up to this."

And with that, the humanoid male grins widely and out stretches his hand. Without warning, a ringing sound begins to emanate from the creature's weapon.

Olhas is using Shatter, DC 20 on the weapon of the sahaguin attacking Allistair.

I just took new meds, so I'm not typing much more coherently. Wee! Hopefully I'll feel the full effects within a week.

Olhas just grins at the nearest sahaguin and parts his lips, no sound escaping but damage definitely becoming problematic for the the watery creature.

Persistant Ear-Piercing Scream. DC 19 Fort save. If either fails, the target is dazed for one round and takes...

Sonic Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 1) = 11

If they succeed on both, then they aren't dazed and only takes half damage.

I think they're waiting on you and me. I just got in from a long doctor's appointment, so I need a few hours to recoup. But I'll post up in not too long.

Sure!

Sorry, folks. Trying to catch up. Had a ton of life kicking my butt, and then today had a family member die...this is definitely not my year, but I'm still here, and I'm going to get caught up.

Olhas takes a step back and fires his crossbow at one of the creatures, saving his spells to see exactly how these nasty creatures react, not wanting to give all of his secrets up so early.

5 foot step and one shot from crossbow.

Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 4

Olhas shivers slightly under the mental weight of the vision, gripping his crossbow tighter in his hands. "Very, very bad.." he just keeps quietly repeating.

Hearing the sounds of sahaguin, the young man smirks and he looks around, making sure he has a good spot for when sahaguin come marching in.

Sorry, folks. Inner ear infection. I'll catch back up in a couple of days. Bot me if need be.

Olhas will follow the group as well, maintaining his quiet and just keeping an eye or two out.

"It does sound like quite a nasty thing; whatever it is."

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11

He also attempts to give himself some additional protection in case of danger.

False Life: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16

Temporary hitpoint total of 53.

All I have to ask is: how much? How much for your women? :) Sorry. Had to do it.

Olhas remains quiet, his hands outstretched. as he prepares for anything that might come out of the holes in the ground. He also makes sure to maneuver in such a way to keep people safe from the fire beginning to lick at his fingertips.

Basically holding in case something comes out, in which case, there'll be some Burning Hands.

Scary thing is, it was only half of one of those drinks.

It'll probably be tomorrow before I can post, folks. I'm trying to recover after a combination of yesterday's 3 hours of sleep and 5 hour energy drink. Bad, bad combo. Remind me not to do that again.

"Just them. But no help necessary, cause they're dead." he motions to the scorpion like creature and the two sahaguin with a grin.

But I just gained a spell level! I don't want to go down a level!

I'm confused too!

"Oh yes. Unfortunate position to be in, really..." He smiles slightly. "But I think things should be better now that I'm out of the hold."

He looks at Delben's wringing of the overcoat and shakes his head. "I have yet to understand why so many people prefer to be dry..." And with that , he wades happily into the water, grinning and seeming much more relaxed, swimming around with the natural movements of a fish.

"The next what?" He says before diving underwater and tries to peak through as well.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

Sounds like a plan. I should be leveled up momentarily. :)

@Alistair: Haste is the go to and unless our friendly neighborhood bard wants it. In that case, I'd have no clue what to choose among the remaining ones. Anyways, time for some sleep before work.

We're quickly becoming just as funny as that party.

Welcome back.

Trying to decide on a level 3 spell. Next level I get lightning bolt, so I was trying to decide whether something like sheet lightning would be good. Or maybe hydraulic torrent.

Got the right level for haste, acqeous orb, or fly too.

I think as I take the Greater Spell Focus feat, it'll still be good later on. Not sure what I'll do when it becomes obsolete.

I am finding it quite amusing to see that these spells are actually proving useful!

This is quite exciting!

Not to self. Save-or-suck spells are great with the persistent metamagic.

Youre right! Apparently I was looking at the mythic version for target. I guess sahaguin 1 then!

Really hoping I can keep from getting the two members in the spell. That would suck with a persistent spell.

Depending on how things work out tomorrow, I may or may not be very busy, so just consider this my early action.

Olhas, with the hood of his cloak covering his face, responds to the taunting sahaguin.

Aquan:

"Your sharks will be a bit too full with your corpses, I'm afraid!

And with that, his lungs unleash an unearthly scream to rival any banshee's voice.

Casting a Persistent Ear-Piercing Scream. So, DC 19 Fort save for the two Sahaguin, since I'm assuming they'd be within 35 feet, hopefully. If they succeed on the first save, they'll need to make a second save. If they fail the second, then they'll still be affected fully. A successful set of saves halves the damage and no daze. A failed save, means dazed for a round and take...

Sonic Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 5) = 11

And with that...I'm out for the night!

Stephen_Evil:

"Consider it done..." Olhas speaks quickly, strapping gear tightly to his body as he begins his trek to get to the entrance the crew went through. Right before heading in the "entrance," he pulls a wand from his pouch and taps himself, giving himself the blessings of some magical protection. Mage Armor

Just to make sure, basically the group of these sanaguins split in two; one part went through the "puddle" and the other half followed the crew? Is that right? If so...

Following the creatures on the trail of the high crew, the human(oid) makes his way after them, giving plenty of distance, in hopes that the ensuing battle will put the enemy in between him and the crew.

I know! He was so much fun reading about! But at least you get another gillman to replace with. :)

Nalgi, I'd love to hear further on your thoughts on that. Too much? Maybe change to someone else?
