Human Oracle of Battle 1
![]() Thank, thank you Orson. That was close. Oberon gets up and then casts cure light wounds on himself, hoping that some magical healing will make the pain go away, even briefly. 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 I've fought wierd beasts and strange creatures, but that's unknown to me. Anyone have any idea of what it is? he says, as he recovers his weapon from the creature's body. ![]()
Human Oracle of Battle 1
![]() In unconsciousness, Oberon has vision of battles. He sees arenas, and armies, and blood on the sand. He remembers the countless cuts and wounds he received, thiking that this one may be his last...

Human Oracle of Battle 1
![]() Alright, here goes nothing... Orson shoves the door open, entering the room with much noise. You! You bunch of rejects! Come get me if you think you are worthy! he taunts at the orcs, flashing his weapon in the air, and moments later he runs back in the corridor.

Using a performance weapon grants a combatant a +2 bonus on performance combat checks. Note that it is to the performance check, not to intimidate. You can do a performance check with every weapon you want, even naturals. The weapons with the performace quality just make the job easier. The feats are listed as Performance because they are related to the bonus to performance combats, not because you are restricted to use performance weapons.![]()
![]() Also check out Performance feats like Hero's Display, Masterful Display, Savage Display and Dramatic Display; they all give you bonus to the Intimidate check as well as additional stuff. Gory Finish is excellent at lower levels, as well as Shatter Defenses. This character I'm using (in the profile) will probably go for the Display feat chains. ![]()
Human Oracle of Battle 1
![]() I think Orson should go first, we both scored 20 on initiative but he has higher Dexterity. Will post my action nonetheless, you decide when to resolve them.

Human Oracle of Battle 1
![]() I agree with Narnel on this. He fought and lost, and for what I'm concerned he lived past what Death has allowed him long enough. I say we put him down, unless we can find some use for him. Oberon wonders. Should they use this orc as a scout or a messenger? And can he really be trusted? ![]()
Human Oracle of Battle 1
![]() Well, that was unexpected says Oberon, lowering his weapon. Good job, everyone. What do you think they wanted from us? Spellcraft check to recognize if the last orc is still alive or if Tampalasan's spell was lethal.
Too bad we can't ask them... he says as he walks to the orc that just fell, believing he's dead. ![]()
Human Oracle of Battle 1
![]() I already declared my action for the next turn: wait for the orc to come at me. In the surprise round I tried to intimidate them, apparently with no results. So my action still stands.

Human Oracle of Battle 1
![]() Oberon steps in the middle of the camp, faces the orcs and swings his weapon over his head in a menacing manner. Come on pests, come meet whatever is your maker! he screams at them. Since you said they were looking at us, I'm using Dazzling Display (full round action) during the surprise round. It's an Intimidate check, the DC is 10+the opponent Hit dice + the opponent Wis modifier. If I'm successful they are all shaken for 1 round, + 1 round for every 5 points over the DC. Intimidate check:
Then during my next turn I will use a raedied action to attack the first opponent that comes in range. With the brace quality of the weapon, I will do twice the damage if he comes charging. Initiative:

![]() Oberon, seeing that the wheater is indeed very cold, buys the following:
And I pay for half of a 2 people's tent, assuming somebody wants to share it with me. This leaves him with 46 gp unspent: I don't know if we get the rest of the money, if it is "store credit" or if it's a now or never deal. If it is the latter, I will get two more Bloodblock doses. ![]()
Human Oracle of Battle 1
![]() Oberon nods in agreement at Tampalasan's words, then he grinningly adds his own view on the subject: And if your or anyone else's fate is to die, wheter in greatness or having accomplished nothing, remember that Lady Death does not care for the colour of your blood. We are all welcomed and well accepted into her oblivion. He gives another look at his travelling mates, then he yawns and gets a blanket. Forgive me, but the journey here was tiring. I will get some rest here if everyone is alright with that. Do go on talking if you wish: I'm too tired to be bothered. He then lies on the floor, close to the fire. ![]()
Human Oracle of Battle 1
![]() Excellent, so we have a guide. The problem's of getting there is solved. Now we just need to solve the one of getting back, preferably in one piece. Oberon thinks about the deed he is faced with. If there is really a major conflict approaching, this would be the best way to observe the events as closely as possible. Wheter it will be war or peace, the Scrolls must play a part. I'm in. I suggest we spend the night here before leaving, so I can get accostumed with my fellow Surdok and my new companions. ![]()
Human Oracle of Battle 1
![]() That's right, professor. How did you know about the scrolls and if they work in the first place? And what's it in for us? says Oberon, while he observes what will be most likely his new travel companions. Or perhaps this is a gentlemen's request, a favour to make things even between us? Could Oberon know something about the scrolls? Knowledge: Religion check if it's relevant. 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 ![]()
Human Oracle of Battle 1
![]() A dark skinned man enters the tent, then closes the entrance behind him. He is not very tall, but has a fit body covered with many old scars. He is dressed with a multicolored light robe with various trinkets and brass neckpieces, as is the fashion of the southerners, apart from a wool brow blanket over his shoulder. He carries a long polearm with a curved, nasty looking blade, used like a long staff.

![]() Pixel Cube wrote: Man! I thought this was dead due to the lack of posting, so I submitted Mal the Red to another pbp. Is it too late to change him with an Oracle of Battle I have ready? I can come up with a decent background soon. If you want Mal to stay instead, I guess I'll have to change my character there. What do you suggest me to do Hama? BTW this is the Oracle I'm talking about. I figured he could come from Surdok, a desert dweller that fanatically views fighting as a way to achieve illumation. Fighting, for him, is spreading his belief that everyone is going to die, so you might as well die gloriously and sell your life dearly. He was a gladiator in the Surdok capital up until the war started: the he joined the human armies of the south. He dresses in light multicolored robes as the fashion of his people, and always has his trusty polearm at hand, using a style colled Dashing Cobra (which consists in using long reach weapons, waiting for the right opportunity to strike). His many scars tell a history of violence and blood, his body wasted by the numerous wounds. In battle he is menacing and tries to intimidate his opponents by showing his prowess with the weapon and casting divine blessing upon himself. He respects bravery and martial prowess. He doesn't hate any particular race or group: to him, everyone is equal in combat, as the blood is red for all of us. |
