Gah! I'm sorry, I thought I'd gotten a post in! Didn't realize we were waiting on me! Iseph, I agree that we don't seem to be making a big difference with the maneuvering...hopefully those two crits will have punched in!

Quig scrambles, desperately trying to keep the weapons firing at full tilt as they try to end this battle. "C'mon...c'mon...c'mon..." he mutters.

"I agree. Just gonna make sure we don't need any repairs ourselves..." Quig mutters, tapping some panels to divert some power away from the weapons and toward the engines.

Quig grits his teeth. "Aftie's tough. I believe in her. We gotta finish this!" Tongue sticking out, he transfers some power out of the shield system and back toward the weapons.

"Blast them!"

"Ungh!" Quig grunts as the ship's shields take a hit. "Ok, so...not actually fun. Let's see..."

Up in the bridge, his voice comes over the comm. "Yeah, we're uh...we should be ok here...give me just...a...sec..."

Engineering DC 18: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25

The ship hums as Quig diverts power to the group's port shield, fully restoring it!

5% of the PCU is 7, so 7 hp restored to port shield!

Once again, the engines flare with light. Down in the engine room, Quig leans back in his chair, looking cheerful. "Well, Scout, this oughtta be fun!"

"Pirates! That's no good!" Quig exclaims. He darts from his chair and vanishes through a hatch that leads directly to the engineering deck. "Some power comin' your way, Iseph!"

Quig sighs as he beams the data back to the Odyssey. "Seems like they were a good group of Starfinders! A shame that they ended up gettin' eaten on this hunk of rock." He strokes his whiskers thoughtfully. "Truly, all of us are dust. But then, that thing was dust too and it tried to eat us, so I dunno what we're supposed to take away from that! If we've got no bodies to take home then in my opinion we might as well get outta here--I don't wanna stay on this planet any longer than I have to!"

"Whoo! Now that was exciting," Quig comments as Scout drifts back to him. "Awwww, you ok there buddy? Didn't mean to catch you in that blast..." He spends a few minutes going over Scout, making cooing noises (and reloading both his and Scout's pistols) before scampering down the sandy hill to investigate the gun.

"Scout!! Sorry bud!" Quig calls, firing on the creature once more.

Harrying fire to give Scout a +2 to attacks, then commanding Scout to move out of the way a bit. He'll move up and out as far as he can...I'm guessing that works out to 10' up (so now 25' off the ground) and 20' away laterally. Scout shoots!

Quig Harrying fire: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 2 + 1 = 11 I just can't make that...

Quig pulls a grenade out of his pack and eyes the sand. "C'moooooon, sucker...Scout! Shoot it!"

Quig draws a grenade and readies it to throw at the creature when it resurfaces, in such a way as not to catch Obozaya in the blast. If possible, Scout readies an action to shoot it as well.

Quig Grenade throw: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6

"Did I bring grenades?!" Quig exclaims, sounding indignant. "What do you take me for?! Of course I brought grenades! Problem is, that sucker's too far away for me to have any chance of reaching it right now...Scout'll keep it off." His tongue pokes out slightly as he maneuvers the drone, then snaps off a single shot on his own in an attempt to distract the creature.

Move action to command Scout, then fire a harrying shot; Scout moves, then shoots.

Quig's Harrying Shot (3rd range inc.): 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (11) + 2 - 4 = 9 Nope!

Scout's Shot (2nd range inc.): 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 5 - 2 = 13
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4 bludgeoning

"Nnnngh!" Quig clutches at his shoulder where the crystal hit him. "Not funny, 'Zaya," he complains. He's breathing hard. "Gimme a minute...the wreck isn't gonna go anywhere any time soon..."

If the group's ok with it, Quig will take a quick break to spend a resolve point and regenerate his stamina. If not, we can press on.

Given that there are no immediately life-threatening dangers, Quig has stationed himself up in the bridge with the rest of the crew for now, rather than in engineering. He winces as the asteroid *pings* off the hull. "Uh, yeah, sure...that's how...that works...watch your 2:35 on the axial, I'm seein' a cluster of sharper-than-usual rocks in that direction..."

"No news of the other Starfinders, I'm afraid!" Quig reports. He sounds oddly chipper. "The Endless Threnody found their ship wrecked on a planet called Ulmarid out in the Vast. But no sign of the bodies either here or there...perhaps they landed on Ulmarid!"

Quig grins and scampers toward the computer bank. "Alright alright...let's see what we got under the hood!" Hopping into the chair, he attempts to access the computer terminals.

Plus any Aid Another bonuses!

EDIT: ...ouch. Can I take 10 if nothing blows up after this attempt?

"I suppose we should," Quig says, a bit wistfully. "I never did find any bounty on Exegara, so probably best to stick to the mission." He opens a comm to the fleeing Eoxian. "Catch ya next time, E!"

As the group hurries toward the bridge, Quig commands Scout to fly 10' ahead, using the camera to scan around any blind corners, etc. that the group encounters.

Still firing and still swearing, Quig steps back, and he and scout both unload on the nearest undead crew member, trying to get Obozaya a chance to breathe.

Gonna try something new here. Quig takes a guarded step and attempts to give Obozaya covering fire against blue...

Quig vs. AC 15: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19 Woohoo! Obozaya gets a +2 bonus to AC against blue for this round. Scout just keeps shooting it.

"Ouch!" Quig yelps as the skeleton's claws graze him. "Scout, help us out, please!" He keys something into his arm computer, ducks under another swipe, and then darts to the south. "Cap, we gotta get back with the others!"

Scout zips over Quig's head and fires off a shot at the skeleton engaging Obozaya.

Quig: commands Scout as a move action, takes a guarded step south. Scout: flies up toward the ceiling in the middle of the hallway, fires at yellow!

Attack yellow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

Pieces of the wall next to Obozaya blast outward. "Bad Scout!"

"Uh-oh," Quig mutters, drawing his pistol. "We got more gross dead guys comin' in at our three and nine, folks. Scout's gonna take on one side, I'll hold the other...jerk's hiding behind the corner..." He steps forward, not wanting to get cut off from the rest of the crew. Pistol raised, and aims down the hall toward the lurking undead.

Move: draw pistol. None: 5' step. Standard: ready an action to shoot red once he's around the corner. Scout shoots at green.

Scout shoots green: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Quig's readied shot at red: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11

Probably neither hits...if they do, each does 1d6 P.

"Ooooooooh I've never been on an Eoxian ship before!" Quig exclaims, pressing the button to close the seals on his suit. As it hisses into place around him, his voice continues, coming out of the speaker on the front of the helmet. "This should be fun!"

Scout whirs down next to him, and the ysoki turns toward the robot. "Don't be ridiculous, of course we can shoot them. I'm not even sure they count as alive!"

Hi all. I'm getting married this weekend (and planning the wedding with my fiancé myself), so things here are pretty crazy. My posting may be spottier and I probably won't post at all between Thursday and Monday. Please bear with me as I go through this joyous, crazy thing. :)

"Alright, with the shields back up...mostly...let's try and make things toasty, eh?" Quig whistles as his little fingers dance over the controls.

Weapons boost: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25

He leans back, smirking. Talking into the comm, he says. "'Zaya, sending some excess power you way...now." He taps a button.

There's a whine as the weapons heat up...and all of the lights in Quig's deck power down. "Oooooohhhhh. Riiiiiight."

An alarm starts blaring as the forward shield is crippled. Then Quig feels the impact of the blast. "Whoa! Now that's no good baby, no good at all. Hold it together now, you sweet sweet flyin' hunk of...uh...I mean...wonderful ship!"

Engineering DC 14 to restore the shield: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14

Quig just barely makes the connections in time, and the shield hums back to life. He exhales a brief sigh of relief.

So if I understand this right, I get to restore 7 shield points. I'm not sure but I'm assuming that 10 is the max for each shield quadrant, in which case they all go to the forward shield?

Quig's voice floats in from the comm. "Uh, juice the weapons, sure thing, righty-o, toodle pip and what-not." *bang*

In the engine room, Quig is furiously smacking things with his wrench. "STOP. BEEPING!" The alarm suddenly dies. "Oh, that's better. Now, let's see...weapons...a-go!"

All damage dice that roll 1s treated as 2s, this round only!

"Man, this is dull," Quig mutters down below as he keeps an eye on the energy running to the engines. Except that he's really fiddling around with something in Scout's guts. "Have we even been hit yet? Turns out dead people are lousy frickin' marksmen..."

A buzzing, blaring siren goes off behind his head. "Uh...that's probably not supposed to happen."

Just to check, but can't we actually fire ALL our weapons? The laser cannons will take massive penalties, sure, but their maximum range is 50 hexes!

"Man, they're pretty friggin' rude," Quig's voice says, drifting up from the comm. "'Zaya, I'm gonna give you some extra juice. Blast 'em, please!"

Figuring that if they keep at a distance they can just pepper the enemy ship with their coilgun while avoiding the foe's lasers, Quig lets the engines die down to their normal operation level and diverts some of that power to the weapons systems. While giggling.

This round, any 1s rolled on weapon damage dice are treated as 2s!

EDIT: Forgot to actually make the check... Engineering DC 14: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20

"Welp, looks like things are goin' south and maybe up and also maybe west in a hurry, huh?" Quig says cheerily. "I'm uh...just gonna seal my armor and...open this valve, huh?" He quickly does so, and with a roar, the sub-Drift engines flare into brilliant light!

Sticking with Engineer. I think our facing is actually good, since we have forward-mounted laser cannons and if they do, they're pointed the wrong way! I'm gonna divert power to the engines.

When the group boards the Loreseeker, Quig quickly darts down toward the Engineering deck. "Oooooooh dual-power core, hydraulic fused bypasses, lots of cool shiny bits...yeeeeeessssss I like it I like it!" A slightly alarming manic chuckle echoes up from the depths.

Quig spends his days en route mostly tinkering around in the tech lab. Being in the Drift doesn't affect him too adversely, but it does make him a little bit anxious, and he doesn't take off his sealable exoskeleton while they're in the Drift. Or while they're on the spaceship at all, for that matter...you can never be too careful.

I don't know what, if anything, I can actually make, though.

When Iseph asks for a scan, Quig comes in over the comm immediately. "Ma'am, yes ma'am. One hairy eyeball going out now!" He runs a quick scan.

Computers with the Loreseeker's scanners: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 8 + 2 = 12

Hmmmm, Quig could be an Engineer or a Science Officer--he has a +10 Engineering, and a +8 Computers (but it looks like the Loreseeker would boost that to +10). Do people feel one would be more useful than the other? Leaning toward Engineer right now.

Quig will buy himself a set of binders (he is a bounty hunter) and a survival knife.

"Cripple the vessel?!" Quig exclaims. "Gosh, that seems rude given that the ghoul lady was so willing to talk to us...oh? What's that?" He cocks his head as though listening to Scout. "They're a bunch of depraved abominations? Well, when you put it like that, I guess...no questions, boss!"

At least, I think not. Quig's player has a wee question, though, which Quig would probably know: is it possible to extract that information from the ship's computers without actually going into the ship?

Regardless, I imagine Quig will shine in this task. :)

Quig shrugs and pockets Gurge's possessions. "Sorry buddy. Better luck next time, if your friend reanimates ya."

Listening in to the conversation through Scout, he takes the opportunity to yell through the vines, "Do you just need bodies?? I got one for you here if that's what you're looking for!"

"Oh, are we not shooting any more? Cool," Quig says, bolstering his pistol. "Scout, keep an eye on the creepy Eoxian. I'm gonna check out our buddy over here." While the drone whirs over to listen in on Iseph's conversation with their captive, Quig hurries to the fallen man.

"Well, you're hurt pretty bad, buddy," the ysoki comments cheerfully. "Should've brought that bug with us...oh well, let's see what I can do!"

Untrained Heal to stabilize Gurge? Is that a thing? :P: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

Whether Quig's patchy first aid works or not, he quickly sets to frisking the fallen man, looking for any identifying documents or valuables.
