A raven flew into the tavern and landed on Trevor's right shoulder.

"Trevor, this is Nevara. I really think the last month should be named after me, and the animal should be changed to a raven. The stars can look like anything. The last month should represent endings, don't you agree? I will give the barkeeper a jewel to cover the drinks, because you probably don't have any wealth."

The raven threw up the jewel onto the bar and flew away.

Trevor found entering the Valley of Nevara easy. The Necromancers met him at the border. A tall, pale man called the Nekron met him at Nighton and led Trevor to the Necropolis, which had been rebuilt after a Great Tree attack by Merlyn over 20 Winters ago. The Nekron took him to a vast hall within the building, and inside was Nevara herself sitting on her skull throne. Vicar Vorrak, a floating-flaming skull now a days, was drifting nearby.

"I know why you are here, Trevor, and I wanted to help you," Nevara said. Here at Nighton we base our calendar on the Dark Moon, and we name our months after the Great Dead. The first month is named after me, of course. Wouldn't you like to live here and join my cult?"

"No," Trevor said. "Do you have a seven day week?"

"Yes, we do. Today is Doomsday, for example. Then tomorrow is Gloomsday, and then there is..."

"I think I get the idea," Trevor interrupted. "Do you have any idea who created the world of Beriya? The myths I read said it was created in seven days by the Maker, who came from the Great Unknown, but it says nothing more."

"I do not know myself. I came here from another world just like you, but I know who might be able to help you: the god of light Leafar. I know he knows."

"He left the world to the Realm of Light. I guess I will have to go there to talk to him. Thank you, Queen Nevara, you have been very helpful."

"You are welcome. Having a Common Calendar will just bring Beriya closer together, and the end result will be more deaths. My Nekron will show you the way out."

Trevor pondered her words carefully...

Nevara survived Merlyn's planting of the Second Great Tree, and its sinking too. She was did not go to the Realm of the Dead, for another god ruled it. No, she chose to stay here as a Quasi-Goddess of Ravens and the Undead of course.

Vicar Vorrak returned too, but just his head. They started calling him a demi-lich, and he hated it, but Nevara loved it! He was still able to float around and scare people, so she let him stay. Nevara would Call new Necromancers and Undead to her, and they would rebuild her Necropolis and Nighton.

Nevara saw that the Destroyer Head was gone, and it made her sad. She loved singing with him in her garden. Maybe someday she would find a replacement.

For the people of Melosba (who were naught but humble fishermen), it seemed that Judgement Day had arrived in horrible, bloody fashion. Despite being located in the southeast corner of the continent (where the warm, tropical climate meets the cold, southern winds) the villagers had nothing to fear apart from the occasional storm that developed right off the coast. Nothing, until today.

The attack was unexpected, sudden and (from the villagers' point of view) totally pointless! For the village, despite the bountiful harvest it catches, was a POOR village so what could the attackers want with a few meager coffers? The truth however, was far more
sinister. Because Nevara, Queen of the Night, Empress of Eternal Darkness, cared not for the village's wealth... She just wanted the people slain and the village itself burned to the ground! And in just little over three hours, she got her wish.

Standing proudly amongst the destruction, Nevara gave a roar of triumph, before declaring that they all move on to next target.

Nevara's clone and her Reapers continue their onslaught through the Southern Jungle. She turns any dead person they kill into zombies, and by now they have zombies along with their

Angazhani allies.
I want the Gorilla God's head in my garden, right next to the Destroyer's Head. That would
be fun. Hahahaha...

In her valley Nevara finished her song with the Destroyer Head, because due to the symbite he could now talk, but he sang badly. She was considering making a calendar after she took over the world. It would have 12 months and she would name the first month after herself. She decided to take a bold action and she summoned her high priest.

Vicar Vorrak, summon the Necromancers! Have them assemble the undead army! We will attack Lighton at dusk tonight! Perhaps the Dark Elves will join us.
The Big Giant Head,"Queen Nevara, Leafar may be on some sort of vacation, but the Paladins of Lighton have built up to a full quarter of the population. Would you like me to smash through the Maze of Light so your troops can get into the city quicker?"

Yes, Sir Guru, my army would appreciate any help you might offer. I will let Vicar Vorrak know.

Nevara was pleased that Melosba was destroyed, and she looked forward to the next one. At the same time she in her valley located at the northern central region of Primeva. She had the power in be in more than one place at once. Some called it cloning, but she called it convient. If one body died, she always had another ready. She was walking through her garden, and she saw the Destroyer's head on display. Nevara knew she would have to deal with his sister, Mistress Destra, sooner or later. She began to sing...

Thank you so much, Puss Worm! I will gladly accept your symbiot, and have one of my Necromancers place it on the Destroyer's lifeless dead. When you actually die feel free to come here to live out your undeath. We recently received a new family member. Vorrak, the former high priest of Dogarr, who was killed by Hu-Nar. He turned himself into a Lich and made his way here along the Dark Path. I have named him the Vicar of my church. He will do well here. I will not abandon him like Dogon did. Why destroy a world when you can turn it undead? I truly dislike him.

My puss worms continue to feed on and animate the dead mostly unchanged. As I steer them away from my allies, they are turning communes started by atheists or false gods into zombie movie sets. My worm people are more interesting. The ones that went druid have become so adept at taking animal form that some of their offspring are animals as smart or wise as any humans. The ones that have still headed my influence have gone salvaging the remains of the shattered war machines. By welding with their acid, and favoring both science and alchemy, they have made small, android, symbionts that can reanimate ruined constructs. They look like metallic centipedes. Oddly, the result will then eat wreckage and grow. They have been unable to find and reawaken either probe 2 or 3 as other civilizations have already salvaged them. Many cities have taken to sponsoring a Colossus to protect their cities. They make metal ingots to feed them. I have graciously shared my creations with my allies. Rebuilding civilization is more in their wheelhouse. Now they are more in demand because a new threat is rising. Good, I was getting bored and would like to see these Colossi in action.

Puss, Wyrm, Guru, whatever you are called these days, I would like to place an order for one Colossus to protect my valley. I imagine it will be needed one day. I just want him painted black, if that is all right. Also, if anyone is wondering where the Destroyer's head disappeared to, don't worry...we have it. I have given it a place of honor in one of my gardens. Maybe one day I will get it to talk. Bye for now!

However, Druids who were driven away were no longer Druids, merely elves who once possessed powers and lost them. Yet the seeds came from the Forest of Beginnnings and despite the fact that those who planted them were no longer Druids, the Wailing Trees held a mystery of their own...

Nevara agrees. They were no longer Druids, for their purpose was to corrupt nature and not preserve it She decides to give them a new name as she listens to the music of the Wailing Trees; she calls them Reapers.

"Well I suppose that depends."

I draw a Black Rose, grown in my underground garden, and hold it out to the Night Queen.

"Would you agree to join me for a walk under the night sky? The air is lovely right now, and I would love to enjoy it with good company and good conversation"

do you believe that love can blossom on the battlefieldin the graveyard?

I take the black rose, but not the walk. I do not believe in love, only death. I will make a garden of black roses, and bring death to Beriya. I will call my ravens and they will take me to my palace. My Necromancers will attend to your needs.

Fair enough, Ms. Night, though from now on I will have to ask you to stay out of my files. Some of those things are private, especially my, er, the folder marked "slashfic" which clearly could have been written by anyone*.

To be fair I'm sure some industry-minded minion of yours would have developed a similar design anyway. Just try to remember most folk don't like it if you pollute the groundwater. I mean you DO have a sense of smell, yes?

*Grodd/Axerus OTP!

I imagine the Necrotic Engine looks very "Steampunkish"; they will start mass producing skeletons/zombies for the next war.

The 2nd anchor nudged up against the territory of some demi-urge or deity calling itself Leafar. I removed the offending arcanological construct quickly and am in negotiations for what reparations I may owe, but something "leaked" up the link into the fungal forest. Creatures(?) with an affinity for positive energy are floating around, and I suspect they are still "forming" for lack of a better word. I cannot be certain as they are quite elusive, and I don't want to destroy one while trying to capture it. According to the one scout drone that survived a close encounter with one, it was a rainbow-patterned being of light, but beneath the near-blinding aura were beautiful multicolored feathers and scales. but for all I know that was merely an illusion or a transitional form. They certainly don't listen when I try to call them, I suppose I need to ask this Leafar to come take a look; if he is not too mad at me, he may have helpful insight. He's a goody-good, so like as not he'll either forgive me or judge me. Either way I'm glad I never got around to trying that Necrotic Engine, someone else can bring Necromancy to this world.

I spend my days and nights singing. My people slowly come my valley to embrace undeath. I feel a change coming. Soon, IT shall be released and I hope IT will bring destruction to the Great Land of Primeva, and then the World of Beriya. Soon I hope my valley will be full. I shall sing another song...

Come to my valley, Rainzax, and I shall end your suffering. Life is a disease, and I have the cure...

On my own world I "died". I was the little known goddess of ravens. Even with my divine blood my few worshippers couldn't keep me alive. My spirit drifted through the planes, dimensions, domains, because I wouldn't allow myself to go to some Hell run by those devils/demons. I thought this was how I was going to spend forever...

Then, I found my spirit pulled here by this newly made and voided world. I witnessed the various gods, angels, demons, and whatevers come here and create or destroy things. It was glorious! After this nasty fight that ended with a big BOOM I found a recently dead, Human woman. She had drowned in a flood that came out of nowhere. My spirit entered her body, and I started to make it move. It was a perfect fit!

I wandered north, where I saw this really depressing Mt. Dogon, so I didn't want to "live" there. So I moved west of his mountain and I found the perfect place!

It was a valley surrounded by dark mountains and harsh hills. I loved it! I reached out to see if any ravens were on this world. Birds did come to me, but I had to change them a bit to become ravens. Now I had a home, but I needed a family. I felt the dead out there. I saw their mangled bodies piled up near the Lightscar (like that name). I felt them everywhere, so I Called them to me.

I decided to name my home the Valley of Nevara, and I became its Queen. Let the dead come to me to live again...
