Wow thanks all for the help. This gave me a lot of ideas on how to work this. Appreciate the time you guys put in to responding.
So my PC's do this a lot. They barge into a building and all 4 floors are alerted to their presence. I am currently in a 24 enemy battle right now and they are fighting 4 on the first floor while all the other enemies now alerted are running toward the battle. They are running down the stairs and they will be adding to the encounter as they "get down there" I am finding it hard to keep track of all the enemies moves as they come down 4 floors so that I am adding them to the combat in a way that is realistic with their movement speeds. Any pro GM's out there have advice on how to simplify these calculations so I am not having to run through movement of 20+ enemies while my PC's wait so I space out their arrivals in a way that makes sense?
Thanks
Wow really I never have seen that in any of my games. I have never seen any creature we fought go unconscious like a pc does. When they get to 0 they die. Are you sure that is how it works? Not doubting but been in tons of games and have not seen that.
Half orc comes back from unconsciousness heavily wounded....says he saw a light but no tunnel
Just realized this should be in Rules and questions forum which I thought I was in. If a mod wants to move it that is fine. Sorry :P
So I have a GM asking me because I have GMed before what it means when a monster/creature has a statement that it does not go uncouncious but rather stabalizes if at negative hitpoints. Sorry rought translation from Spanish. I do not know what creature it is because he does not want to ruin the story for me.
All I know about this is the ability of say a barbarian in being able to stabalize with I think it is called orc ferocity but that if hit again he goes down. Wondering it that is the same situation for this creature or if you can only kill it when it gets to negative its ammount of hitpoints like a pc.
I am an 11th lvl Oracle of Life but do not really like the rest of my revelations I have left.
Delay Affliction, Enhanced Cures, Healing Hands, Life Sense, Spirit boost (this one is not that bad)
Maybe I just have not seen the value in most of them. I am a machine healer / party buffer already.
So is there any ideas on what I could do from here? Can you dip into other Mysteries or am I pretty much stuck with these Revelations?
So We are lvl 10 now and I have a wooden shield lol. I don't really need the AC or I could get it another way so my question to this creative community is Being a Oracle of Life what are some great and or cool ideas of things I could purchase for myself to put into my hands.
I am also open to any other magic / wonderous items you would suggest for the rest of my body but first looking for some good mano a mano stuff.
PS: I do a lot of healing and going into monster summoning so I can have some other stuff going on. So not really interested in something that helps heal better but rather other stuff. Now if you think you have any crazy idea for something for healing don't hesitate to share it.
Thanks in advance

Hey Avr thanks for the suggestions,
I have to be honest I don't have to much a a concept because this is the first time I will be using my diety more in my roleplay. In the past I have just inserted them into my character sheet and that was the extent. I am a multiclass going from Gunslinger (Crossbowmaven till 5) Then dipping into warpriest (Arsenal Chaplain) for three levels. So lvl 8 total. I have to be War Blessing because of Arsenal Chaplain even if that is not a domain offered by my diety. I am a CN type player. Loner that sort of decides what is right in my own mind based on my experiences. I do lean more toward good vs evil but more toward Chaotic vs lawful. Does that open up any other advice?

So playing a Half-Orc Warpriest And I need some suggestions for a Diety. Am Chaotic Neutral. I am also wondering how aura works. I don't quite understand it.

Ok I know I am sort of necroing on my own post here but it is about this build. I think I messed up my BAB because it is my first time multiclassing. I am now lvl 8 already into the Arsenal Chaplain which btw is amazing thanks so much all for suggesting this build. But my BAB is coming out as +7 +2 with 3 levels into Arsenal Chaplain which means I am unable to take Improved Critical because it has a requirement of +8. What am I missing. I was having a hard time finding out how to calculate my bab and saves with a multiclass and I may have understood it wrong but I understood to just add them. IE>
Gunslinger: BAB 5 Fort: 4 Ref: 4 Will: 4
Warpriest: BAB 2 Fort: 3 Ref: 1 Will: 3
Total: BAB 7 Fort: 7 Ref: 5 Will: 7
Am I missing something?

Ok I am trying to figure out something from the build. Where am I getting a crit on the pellet bow down to 17-20 from 19-20. I know I am missing something but can't find it

Thanks again Name Violation and Claxon. Ok then I think that the Bolt Ace / Arsenal Warpriest Champion looks like a really fun build. Appreciate all the help you all gave!

Thanks SheepishEidolon, Boomerang Nebula, and Ryze Kuja for the advice. This will be a huge help and I will take a gander at the RotRL thread you linked SheepishEidolon. Much appreciated. Any other advice you and others can think of please don't hesitate to add
So I am running RotRL for 6 players one of them being a Summoner with eidelon. So seems like 7 players sometimes. I have a few questions because as a newer GM I am still learning myself and would like some advice from some of you vets that have been on the horse a lot longer. So two questions.
1) And this is the main question. What are any tips or tricks or things you do to help level up an encounter designed for 4ish up to 6ish. I am mainly talking about stats or monster numbers but any suggestions on how to up loot to balance are also welcome
2)Yes we have tried reducing the group but we are all close buddies and we all hang out together all the time so this is going to be it for future campaigns as well. So is there any adventure paths, campaigns, or runthroughs out there that are built for 6ish players. Something I could just dive into with them without having to do so much modification. Home brew is fine as well.
Thanks in advance

Wow and this is why I love coming to the forum. So many ideas that I would never have thought of. Thanks Guardianlord, Claxon, and VoodistMonk. I might have to build each one out to see it made and see what I like more. Keep them coming if you have ideas. I love this!
I just found this looking through some other ideas on crossbowmen type builds:
Minotaur Double Crossbow http://shadowd20.pbworks.com/w/page/7520819/PRPGequipment_MinotaurDoubleCro ssbow
What do you guys think. Is it doable? :Evilgrin

You got your free masterwork exotic crossbow and proficiency for it, you got dex-to-dmg with your free masterwork exotic crossbow, you have increased the crit multiplier of your free masterwork exotic crossbow from x3 to x4, and you have some Deeds to target Touch AC or buttstroke people with your free masterwork exotic crossbow...
You are set up for success... VoodistMonk thanks for the help. I am sorry but have never multiclassed before so new at this. How am I getting the free Masterwork exotic crossbow. And on choosing to continue as a crossbowmen would be a good fit or does it hurt one another in any way? If I understand this correctly, by multiclassing, I will not have access to the top level stuff of either class I am in. Say if I went 5 Gunslinger and 15 Crossbowman I will never get the benefits of a lvl 16 to 20? So trying to make sure I don't mess this up. The Bolt Ace class features give you proficiency and one free weapon.
Quote: Crossbow Maven
A bolt ace is proficient with all crossbows instead of all firearms and begins play with a masterwork crossbow of her choice.
This ability alters the gunslinger’s weapon proficiencies and replaces gunsmith.
Most of the Gunslinger & Bolt Ace's abilities after the first 5 levels are lackluster, but the first 5 levels are extremely good.
Also, almost no one ever plays to level 20 and even if you do it's typically 1 or 2 session at most. Honestly, game balance wise the game really start to break down around level 13+, with magic becoming too insane in power and the GM really have to go crazy to threaten an optimized party (although a party of new players that doesn't know how to optimize could still be stomped in the ground by the base CR system simply due to lack of knowledge).
In short I guess I'm saying don't sweat not having the level 20 capstone abilities, they're not... Thanks a ton Claxon. So I will probably look into Crossboman see if it adds anything.
Does anyone have any other suggestions even if crazy to make this an interesting Char? So far it is sounding like a ton of fun but always open to more. Thanks all who took the time to share your ideas! Love this forum.

Starting with 5 levels of Bolt Ace Gunslinger not only fives you a masterwork Heavy Dwarven PelletBow, but it also gives you proficiency with it. And Bolt Ace's Crossbow Training bumps you up to a 19-20/×4. Just Improved Critical away from crit-fishing with a 17-20/×4 bludgeoning crossbow. Lol.

Wow thanks for the breakdown and that sounds fun. I have never played any multiclassing before so to just make sure I understand. Are you staying to grab 5 lvls of Bolt Ace Gunslinger and then switch over to Crossbowmen? Or stay gunslinger? Thanks again for all the work in putting that down for me

Yes the Crosbowman archetype. That is interesting and I have never played a Kobold before. More new things. Thanks Wonderstell for the ideas

So I always like to try new things vs consistently playing the same class and I came across the crossbowman class. I was read some comments on adding some rogue for some sneak attack and that sounded fun but don't find much more on that class so with all the fun suggestions I had gotten from this forum in the past thought I would ask for suggestions that you have used or think would be good. Anything from race to feats to full build ideas would be cool to get ideas. Keep it constructive please.
Thanks a ton Lelomenia and Cavall (horse in Catalan language hehe) Thanks for the suggestions. Much appreciated
I am a Green Knight Calvalier and I love my Greatsword and built up around it. Now I am lvl 9 and am looking at feats and thinking to go for Improved Crit Greatsword. Unsure if this is wise. I am high attack High Dmg low armor kind or Character (working on that lol)
Feats so far:
LVL Feat
1) Power Attack
3) Toughness
5) Shield Focus (buckler)
6) Unhindering shield
7) Chain Challenge
I have a few other things due to me being an Aasimar and class like Endurance and Die hard etc but just would like to know if it is a wasted feat to put it on a Greatsword. If it is do you have any other good suggestions? Thanks in advance
Cool Thanks a ton Avr. Since a little new at getting to lvls where we can start getting magic items was trying to figure out what would be good to look at saving for or if I have enough for moving forward.
avr wrote: How much cash, and besides the buckler what do you have already? Sorry Christmas and New Years had me away. Have about 1800 GP and
Only have Cloak of Resistance and +2 Defiant Scale Mail and Silver Sword
So far so good. This has been a great character. I actually got a +1 buckler so that is looking nice. I would like suggestions on gear as I am getting some cash now and don't have much knowledge about gear. Any suggestions?
My stats are as follows:
18
11
14
11
12
13
These are really interesting ideas. @Philipe I like yours a lot but looking for more of a healing / support type vs a fighting type but that is really neat. I am new at oracle stuff so I still need to really look into creating one. @LordKailas. Thanks also. That build seems really interesting and closer to what I am looking for. Familiar is interesting also.
So I have loved how creative this community is vs just going with the status quo. I am trying out a new class and a new genre of player type. I have never played a healer before. Even though I have played Paladin it was not at all focused in this direction so this will be new to me.
I am wanting to play a healer class because our party does not have one and we will need one. I however don't want to play just a cleric or Paladin so I was looking at the Life Oracle and wanted to ask out there what a good way or creative way to build this would be. I have heard about double cursed and a few other ideas but what do you all suggest, stats, feats, archetypes, race? Anything amazingly fun you have built?
Ok First of all Thanks to all and especially to Secret Wizzard for all the help. I am having a blast with my Green Knight Cavalier but thanks for everyone elses contribution and ideas.
One question I would ask is I am for the moment going two handed weapon. Seems to be working but again my AC is low at 17 with armor and no shield. What are your thoughts on staying 2 handed vs going one handed with a shield.
And if I stay 2 handed what feats should I get instead of shield focus(buckler) and unhindering shield like suggested by secret. I was thinking of Furious Focus and or Dreadfull carnage as some options but wanted to know if anyone had more suggestions that might make me drool :)

Secret Wizard wrote: Be a pimp ass Green Knight Cavalier.
A) You are basically immortal.
B) Order of the Green allows you to attack twice vs undead/aberrations, deal extra damage to undead/aberrations, and get a ton of bonuses to track undead/aberrations.
C) Did I mention that things you kill get automatically sanctified so suck on that stupid ass undead?
D) You get Stalwart, immunity to disease, poison and infestations.
E) EVERYTHING IS A VORPAL WEAPON.
F) You can talk to animals, that's neat.
[EDIT]
Here's a sample build on 20 PB:
Race: Human, Heart of the Fey
S16+2 D12 C14 I10 W10 CH13
Traits: Carefully Hidden, Near-Death Experience
Feats and stuff:
LV1. Power Attack, Toughness
LV3. Iron Will
LV4. +1 CHA
LV5. Shield Focus (buckler)
LV6. Unhindering Shield
LV7. Chain Challenge
LV8. +1 STR
LV9. Improved Critical (falchion)
LV11. Critical Focus
LV12. +1 STR, start getting Critical feats
So as an Aasimar I do not get two Feat's at the beggining. So out of PA, Toughness, and Iron will I will have to drop one or push them down the line
Well Thanks to all of you. You gave me some amazing ideas to go off of and I really appreciated the time invested in answering me. Props to this community again!

Yeah...really ridiculously survivable This is really good since I always get myself into huge messes. Any suggestion on an interesting race for the Green Knight Cav.? I can't do anything NE or CE
Wow you guys thanks for all of the ideas. Really appreciate the help and response. Will check it out. The green knight is that an archetype of the Cavalier?
So I am going into a campaign that is Undead heavy. However I don't want to jump into the typical few (cleric, paladin, necro). I want to look for something that is a little different and fun to play however I am also new enough to know what is out there. So I guess I am asking for suggestions on some other fun kinds of ideas:
The could be an interesting archetype of the above
I would like to figure out if a sorcerer, barbarian, or someone called it the VMC calvelier which I don't know what that means,
Or something completely new.
Any suggestions?
Ok yes the Adventure path. can someone link the ap that I am supposed to get. Is it:
Pathfinder #7—Curse of the Crimson Throne Chapter 1: "Edge of Anarchy" (OGL)
Is that what I need to get as the first part of this?
I am new at navigating this site and wanting to run this AP but unsure with all the stuff I don't see what I need to get. For example I see a player guide dorm the first in the series but nothing for the GM. Any help would be appreciated
Hey all,
So running a big group (7-8players) I still don't feel comfortable creating a adventure/campaign from scratch so wanted to see what some of you with more experience in the game might suggest. Any premade modules or campaigns would you suggest as something I can work off of? Also have heard something about Adventure Path but unsure what that is exactly.
The real question is: is the said New Guy backwards compatible?
Has anyone translated the Horror at Dagger Rock Module into Spanish? I would love to have it as soon as possible
Alguien a traducido el Modulo Horror at Dagger Rock al Español? me gustaria tenerlo cuanto antes mejor.
It is to bad that Piazo can't run heard on Divir...just tried to purchas from them...had problems creating account on their site so I could get the spanish version of the Pathfinder stuff and their response was it should work...which is such a great response to someone that is having problems signing up. I proceeded to send them screen shots of the error that kept coming up and they ignored me. So I purchased the books and stuff from dracotienda.com....Its just to bad that Devir is the company that is the face of Pathfinder in Spain....
Sen calls me a lurker sometimes but I just lurk HIM Sup all Malaiit here Pax Aeternum division of Pax Gaming woot woot.
