"Mules are not known for their agility. You should have a panther as a mount." Namfoodle says stoically.

He looks over the pit and sighs while Myna searches for something inside it.

"Another architectural curiosity, a defense measure of some type. But why....?" He shrugs.

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

Yep. Done.

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

The gnome's curiosity is piqued for a moment. "Forest sounds? Animals?"

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

Namfoodle rolls his eyes at the strangeness of "civilized" folk.

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

"If anyone can tell us more about this place, it's probably him." Namfoodle says nonchalantly. "I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss him." He shrugs as though he didn't really care what the group decided.

"Like, where's all this fog coming from, for one thing."

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

Still around

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

Namfoodle scowls at the domesticated cats, as though the idea of domestication of the beautiful feral creatures was distasteful to him.

"Looks like someone's been feeding them. And I don't think it was the bandits."

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

Namfoodle shrugs. "Common wildflowers. Dried." He shrugs again.
"If they have some other use, it is beyond me. Possibly a religious fetish of some type."

When the torch goes out, Namfoodle will pull out another one and light it with druidcraft.

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

For a moment Namfoodle considers calling out for the missing companion, hoping that he had just gotten lost in the fog. Something tells him that he is gone for good. It is unsettling.

He looks at the torch and decides to let it die out. A torch stub is worth little for the purposes of lighting. And there were more where that came from.

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

Namfoodle looks at the herbs and flowers and tries to identify them.

Nature: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16

(He has a Herbalism Kit if that helps any.)

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

Dryly and more to himself than anyone else, Namfoodle remarks on the predicament. "I am glad to hear I am not the only one who thinks so."

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

"Can someone with more knowledge of architecture than me explain to me why this building is designed this way?" Namfoodle whispers loudly.

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

Namfoodle rolls his eyes at the current drama and follows along quietly.

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

Not particularly enthused about anything, especially the remains of the walking skeletons, Namfoodle holds the torch patiently.

"There might be a source of steam nearby that could be causing all this fog too."

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

Namfoodle brings his staff to bear against the remaining skeleton, moving forward to do so.

Shillelagh Melee Attack (Magic): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

No divine Ishtar-goddess bunnies laying eggs dipped in the blood of human sacrifice here, but Happy Passover.

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

+2 Initiative

Namfoodle carefully puts the torch down on the ground, though he is not overly worried if it should extinguish on the damp floor. With his druidic focus in hand he mutters a few words that sound like animal sounds and his staff seems suddenly heavier and almost alive as though part of the branch it was taken from.

Casting Shillelagh as a bonus action (1 minute duration, so not sure if that changes any with the new time method)

He picks the torch back up in his free hand and with his newly enchanted staff, moves forward for the attack.

Shillelagh Melee Attack (Magic): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

Nature check on Fog
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

Namfoodle smells the air, and even is bold enough to taste the fog as it rolls around him.

"This fog is dense and fresh. We must be near someplace where water is being lifted in the air regularly."

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

"You may see well in the dark, but even this fog messes up my vision." Namfoodle remarks to no one in particular. He shrugs and waits for the others to move ahead of him.

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

Namfoodle squints into the darkness, his eyes attempting to adjust to the darkness within and stinging a little at the dust and musk the fog bears with it.

"I will hold it, if needs be. If only to burn this damnable fog away."

He holds up a finger that glows with a faint green light as a gust of wind blows some of the fog around him away for a moment, though it sinks back around him swiftly enough.

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

lol, okay.

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

The problem is, Namfoodle's likely to wander off, especially if they're in natural environs like a forest or cave. In the dungeon/fortress/castle, he's probably good in the rear.

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

Namfoodle is most effective as a melee combatant, with shillelagh, etcetera.

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

Namfoodle relaxes at the entrance to the dungeon, conversing politely with Samangrunhilde as she is likely preparing to find a nest for the day.

He's bright and ready to go, having spent most of the night away from the camp in his beloved wilderness.

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

A Bunch of Cross Table Talk

With my night vision and nature senses, I'd probably be best at the watch at a later time. I'd likely find a high spot (such as a tall tree) to watch from, doing what I can to find a tree with edible fruit, nuts, or berries, so I can lightly forage while on watch duty.

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

Namfoodle makes a cursory wave at the newcomers, but he is mostly focused on removing any twigs from the owl's feathers and trying to remember if he knows a Nanshi.

"Nanshi's a monk, if I remember right. One of those ascetic types." He shrugs again. "Runs a monastery somewhere."

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

Namfoodle looks askance at the "new" folks. "Hmmm, Okay. I might remember a Nanshi..... though I've spent most of my time in the wild, away from 'civilized' folk, as it were."

He tries to remember if he knows a Nanshi.

Sorry, at work and cannot go back and look at my character background at the moment, so not really sure if Namfoodle knows a Nanshi or not.

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

"No, no. You don't owe me anything. Perhaps it has been a while since you last flew in the wild. You might rest for a day and try again tomorrow night."

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

"Oh hello, Gwendolyn. Again. I'm sorry I did not reply to your greeting earlier. I was concerned about the caged owl, and very peculiar about her freedom. And as you can see, the owl needs my help again. So I will tend to it for now."

Namfoodle isn't particularly chagrined by his earlier lapse of social qualities, and quickly departs the group to find the owl and help take out any burrs, thorns, leaves, or stickers that got caught in its feathers.

"Do you need help, Samangrunhilde?"

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

Namfoodle nods sadly, in agreement. "Shame on those dwarves for keeping you caged up like that. Animals should be free. My name is Namfoodle Daergyl, and you're welcome to come with me until we can get out of this place. There may be some combat, and it might be dangerous, but we aim to eventually leave, at least I do."

He attempts to pronounce his name in the most owlish way possible.

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

Namfoodle returns to the owl, and asks him/her? what he/she? knows about the area... (in forestspeak)

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

Ah, the day isn't over yet. Don't lose hope. They could be posting from the other side of the world too.... :P

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

With at least that completed, Namfoodle composes himself as best he is able and returns to where the others are.

"We should likely rest before returning to civilization... or where is it you all are going?"

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

Namfoodle searches for the caged owl, and releases it from its bondage if he is able to.

In Forestspeak "Be free, little owl."

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

Welcome.... sorry about not posting since yesterday morning. 10-hour shift at work knocked me out.

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

"My thanks."

Namfoodle goes over to retrieve his things, looking askance at the remaining iron box.

"There's something else over here, if you want to see what it is. I'm freeing the owl."

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

"Hmmmm, truly? I didn't think I was worth much to anyone really. But either way, a little help with these ropes would be appreciated."

There is a subtle hint of sarcasm in his voice.

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

"My name's Namfoodle. I was captured by Dwarf ruffians who thought I might be worth something to someone." He attempts to shrug.

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

"Hello there, Master Elf. If you might find it in your heart, could you untie me? I'm afraid my own attempts have only met with further resistance."

Namfoodle attempts to sound calm in the face of dire circumstances.

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

Namfoodle attempts to cry out if he hears the voices.

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

It's fine with me.

Gnome Druid 1 | AC: 15 | HP: 9/9 | HD: 1/1 | Pass Perc: 13 | Saves: S+1 D+2 C+1 I*+5 W*+5 C*+1, *Advantage against magic

Flanking providing advantage is an optional rule from the DMG. You also get advantage against a prone enemy, so if you want advantage against the enemy, knock him down. (Special Attack option).

A Rogue's sneak attack does apply if another enemy of the target is within 5 feet of the target. It's not an attack made at advantage though. However, anytime you get advantage on the attack, you do get to inflict sneak attack damage.

Trying to be helpful. Cheerio!

No PFS number needed here. This is 5th edition. I'm not sure what all we need, but I think there was an interest in healing classes. I'm playing a druid.

After attempting (unsuccessfully) to struggle out of his bonds, Namfoodle decides to try getting out the druidic way.

He calls to the owl he heard earlier for help.

Namfoodle asks the owl to help him escape, and will promise to help the owl hunt if it wishes or give it some water in payment.

3d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 4) = 10 x 10 = 100

With his captors distracted by the goings on outside the room... Namfoodle turns his attention once more to the ropes restraining him.

He attempts to slip free of the cords.

Hi everyone, I'm happy to be joining you here. I've read through the campaign tab and hope this game will have an old school feeling to it. Death and darkness around every corner, and everything dangerous?

I can try to come up with a more detailed background if you like, or just go with what the DM posted concerning me. That works great!

EDIT: I was about to go out and see Seventh Son, but its not playing anywhere nearby. Weird. It was in all the theaters 3 weeks ago. While I will eventually get around to reading the entire Discussion thread, are there any posts of particular importance?

Here's Namfoodle Daergyl (a Forest Gnome Druid (Outlander/Forester))

I hope it's possible for the undead to have destroyed part of his homelands. I've got a bit of a vengeance issue in my background.

3d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 3) = 9 x10 for gold.

Still need to update character profile. But will be ready to go tomorrow.
