I desperately hope this will be good... My group is not the biggest fan of Pathfinder 2e so hearing that Starfinder 2e will just be Pathfinder 2e in a space suit was disapointing... I'v been trying to get my group to try Starfinder because I thought it looked super cool and fun! The health/stamina system was unique and really cool! And now it is probably all gonna be gone to just be Pathfinder 2e, In space... ![]()

So, I was thinking, A Kineticist who's race matches their element! A few are easy, Fire is Ifrit, Water is Undine, Earth is Oread and Air is Sylph... Wood is a bit harder, Maybe Gathlain or Ghoran..? But what about Aether and Void? And does any other races match the other elements? Has anyone else thought about matching up race and kineticist element like this..? ![]()
A Sorcerer would suffer from not being able to affect creatures immune to mind affecting effects, Unlike the mesmerist, But would still just like the mesmerist ahve a very limited ammount of spells known so they couldn't diversify out of Enchantment too much.. So they couldn't do too much if they come up aainst undead or other creatures immune to mind affecting.. Maybe I'm just overcomplicating things... I wanna try more casters, But at the same time every time I try to work on a full arcane caster, or class that focuses on their spells I end up with the feeling that I cant handle it... Maybe i'm just intended to stick to the martials and 6th level casters... ![]()
So, I'm currently playing in Skull & Shackles as a Kineticist but I was tossing arround an idea for a backup character who is a caster (Have not played many casters so I wanna try more..) focused on Enchantment and Illusion spells. I came to Wizard, Arcanist and Mesmerist, Wizard and Arcanist can learn all the spells thanks to their books so they have the versatility of having non enchantment or illusion spells for when such spells are not effective, While the Mesmerist can pick up Psychic Inception to make their mind affecting spells have a chance to affect creatures immune to mind affecting spells. Mesmerists are also charisma based so they can let me easily be a party face, Something I'v also wanted to try for a while.. What do you all think the strengths and weaknesses of theese three classes are for a enchantment and illusion focused caster? ![]()
@IluzryMage Well, Primarily a blaster. I want to be able to blast with a few different damaging spells, But also have some other utility for whe I dont want to blast. @Claxon Oh, I do like the Kineticist. I have played one and it was much fun, I just wanted to try a full caster for once, But also be able to blast some with the full caster... @ The Toaster Alchemist is by far my favorite class, I love them and they can do a bit of everything. :D But I wanted to try a full caster for once, But also be able to do some blasting with damaging spells. I'l take a look at the Evoker Wizard. Thanks. :) @Darigaaz the Igniter Thank you, I'l look into the Sorcerer and Admixture Wizard. :) ![]()
So, I know that this is not the optimal way to build a caster in Pathfinder but I was interested in trying it anyway. What class would be the best for a full caster using damaging spells? Most casters can still have a backup toolbox for when they dont want to be a blaster.. But sometimes you might want to be a blaster for the fun of it. ![]()
LunarVale wrote: Occultist, hands down. I never get tired of coming up with new Occultist builds, and they perform so differently depending on the build order that even if you end up heading in a similar direction long-term, they can feel like a completely different class because of how different they are in the interim. They do suffer from really needing to burn a standard action at the start of most battles to unleash their full strength, but two thirds casting, occult skill unlocks, and the suite of other utility features they bring to the table more than makes up for it in my eyes. The Occultist does seem like an awesome class! It has been high on my list of things to try for a long time. The only 6th level caster that can have full BAB if built right, (Trappings of the Warrior seems really good for a melee Occultist.) I really need to get to trying it soon. :D ![]()
So, I'v been pondering deities in pathfinder lately and trying to look into them. There is a lot of cool ones so I wanted to ask people here, Who is your favorite Pathfinder deity, And why? I like Gorum, Our Lord in Iron, Because he is so fitting warrior types and I do like strong warriors.. I have also been a fan of Desna since I reasd about her invading the abyss to avenge her follower. And Cayden Cailean is a cool guy, He is like the good aligned adventurer, Now in deity form! What about you all? Share your favorites! ![]()
How are you targeting spellbooks during combat..? Unlike weapons, Wizards dont wave arround their spellbooks in combat and normaly keep them stored away in the backpacks or such. So to target the spell book during combat someone would need to run up to the wizard, Steal his backpack, Dig through it, Find the spell book and then destroy it, While the wizard is flinging spells at them and other party members are probably trying to kill them... Seems more logical they would just try to shank the wizard, Would probably go faster and be safer for them. Since destroying the spell book dont help them at all, As the wizard will still be able to cast all the days spells. It would only be of assistance to future bandit groups that attack the party.. ![]()
So, I have been playing Pathfinder first edition for about 4 years now and have been thinking of trying to GM at some point, And I was thinking about it a bit earlier and started wondering about second edition, I got to try it in 3 short sessions just after it came out when most of the group was away and I realy liked the system, But since my group returned to first edtion, D&D 3.5 and Dark Heresy. So I was thinking... What if.. I try GMing Pathfinder second edition to try and get people to try P2e some more to see if they can get intrested in it? So I wanted to ask, How hard is P2e to GM and run? Anyone got any tips for a first time GM in a new system? ![]()
So, This is just a random thread to ask people how their eidolons look! What kind of fun and creative eidolons have you built? I only played a single summoner, A ratfolk based on Thanquol from Warhammer Fantasy, So obiously his eidolon was Boneripper! The large four armed rat ogre! With fire breath as one version of Boneripper had a flamethrower built into one of his arms. ![]()
Thank you! I just thought that an adventure path would be the best way to start as there things are already done so I dont have to create a world and adventure all on my own, But shorter adventures seem like a much more logical choise. I dident even think of those, thanks! And I have watched Seth a bit, I shall rewatch his videos, They are always good to watch. =) ![]()
So... My group plays Pathfinder (First edition, The others have no intrest in second edition..) And I realy love playing Pathfinder, It is by far my favorite RPG and we rotate GM's every so often, And ocasionaly also systems. But, I have been considering maaaaaaaybe trying to GM at some point... So I was wondering what peoples favorite first edition Adventure Path was? And also, If there is any good ones for a beginner GM to run? Thanks in advance! ![]()
Thanks for all the replies. =) Grenadier seems pretty good, Able to infuse a alchemical weapon into your weapon (Alchemist Fire, Meet Sword!) Beathmorph seems pretty good too! I love the alchemist because it is so versatile, And if you get for example the Enlarge Person extract, Thats helps even more! And later you also get Giant Form! The Alchemist Extracts add so much versatility to the class, Ontop of discoveries, Bombs and mutagen. Bombs arent just damage, But also utility! Thanks all! =D ![]()
Thanks for all the replies ^_^ The reason I was looking at a Witch for healer is because I want a healer that can do other things then heal AND I want to have a animal companion or familiar. So I was considering a Cleric of Erastil with the Animal Domain, A Lunar Oracle, Or a Witch as those are the healer types I can think of that has either a animal companion or a familiar. Oh! Almost forgot Druid, But Druids I struggle to get ideas for.. ![]()
So, quick and simple question. I have, After some experimentation found, I realy like healing. I want to be able to do other things too, But I want to be a good healer. And looking at diferent kinds of healers I noticed the Hedge Witch archetype for the Witch. It is basicaly a regular witch, But you replace 1 hex with the ability to spontaneously cast cure spells. And also replaces a second hex with the ability to transfer poison and disease from someone else onto yourself.. My question is, Is the Witch a good healer if you have the ability to spontaneously cast cure spells? The Witch spell list and hexes would give you some other stuff to do to, And I like the familiar aspect of it too. ![]()
Lets see... The orc clan lives in the mountains and foothills to the east of the land of Soris, Where necromancy is legal and they use skeletons as the basic work force. There where the orc ambassador was visiting before the lich got his mind. And further west are the homelands of the gnolls. And a ways south of Soris is the giant city of Venomsting, Basicaly an entire city of assassins and criminals. Thats the closest civilizations to the orc clan. Thats the info I got from my GM.. Hmm.. Going to have to think for a while and see if I can think of something for their civilization, But I was thinking that maybe my half orcs mother was an orc, And his father was a human.. ![]()
Speaking of me being bad at thinking of backstories (Sorry, This isent about my original idea in this thread) I was just talking to my GM and tossed out a random idea that randomly popped into my head (Probably over done too) thats a Half Orc Paladin, Who wants to show people that not all orcs are bad.

Rogues look intresting, But we have 2 in the party already (We had one, Then another player joined and made basicaly the same character as the other rogue.. So now we have 2! xD) The occult classes, Havent looked much at them. What little i have looked at them have made me confused and nothing quite reached out and grabbed me with them, Might look a bit more at them. I'm currently leaning towards a Warpriest, He turned to the divine and trained as hard as he ever could to learn how to fight with weapons too, He's not as strong as his sister, And dosent have her natural talent, But he will try his hardest! Other sugestions are also still welcome! I like hearing ideas and sugestions ^_^ ![]()
I do want to try a Summoner at some point.. But it might not fit this character, He dident manage to master the arcane arts.. So Alchemist or Warpriest.. Alchemist I know is awesome and I love the class.. But Warpriest looks nice and I havent tried it.. Hmm.. Bard I dont think would be good for this specific character (I do have another idea for a bard at some point though^^) ![]()
So, I had an idea for a character.. The youngest child of a family of adventurers. His parents used to be great adventurers but have settled down and opend a tavern called The Adventurers Rest.
Not sure what class though.. I am thinking either a alchemist, Trying and mayhaps failing to outspell his brother with extracts and be stronger then his sister with mutagen. Or maybe a Summoner, Trying to outspell his brother with a diferent kind of magic, And trying to outfight his sister by summoning a warrior outsider..

Druid.. Druids are intresting, But I always struggle so much with thinking of backstory and ideas for druids.. I cant think of why a druid would be traveling with a group of crazy people (Normaly called Adventurers) who want to stab and loot things (Well, My group is rather good at not being murderhobos, For the most part, But still!) |
