Male Human 2

Matthias seeing the man slain directly in front of him pushes the few members of the audience out of the way as he draws his sword.
He asks the devil What is it that you want here? as he raises his shield higher

Matthias gives a friendly nod towards Bofus and the turns his attention back towards the room scanning for anything out of the ordinary; unfortunately he gets some dust in his eyes and is unable to see much.

Matthias sits in the audience having awakened from a very long nap anxiously awaiting the performance of Florence.

Matthias awakes from his meditation and realizes something is amiss he rushes to find Mantooth as well.

Matthias in turn follows Mantooth to their room and falls asleep just as his head hits the pillow.

Matthias returns Humphrey to his stable and ensures the pressence of the guards before entering the wyvern.

He listens to Bofus' plan and is slightly worried.

If they already have one of the eyes of the dragon it could be dangerous to take it with you on your mission, taking the other eye directly to them could be exactly what they want. If they were to get a hold of the second eye I would hate to see what would happen. Also I don't know if I am willing to assume the bards innocence in this whole transgression. For all we know hes in league with the Blackscarzi and infiltrated the Wyvern in order to steal the second eye, for all we know it is in his room at this very moment...

Matthias makes sure the group is gathered together before he heals them.

Matthias follows the group and nudges thordak on the way up If all else fails I'm sure one of those trees up top would do the trick just fine.

Matthias swings out again at the rats but is obviously delirious from the bites he has received seeing as how he misses by a long shot yet again.

Matthias decides to act defensively this round realizing his wounds are mounting up. He feebly swings out at the rats as more of a warning than anything else.

Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Matthias lashes out at the rat in front of him before backpedaling further back into the halway I24 He yells out to Mantooth Mantooth come back here and we can kill the last of them together! I23

Matthias lashes out at the rat on his right as they are trying to flank him. Florence or Thordak we need another person to hold the rats back otherwise were going to get surrounded!

Matthias now swings his scimitar out at the rat directly in front of him.

Matthias runs up to Mantooths side G23 He stops just before the swarm of rats and unleashes a fiery burst from his hands enveloping the front ranks of rats.

Burning Hands: 2d4 ⇒ (2, 4) = 6 Do I add another to damage from the song?

Not sure if I used the dice correctly. It said 1d4 X caster level, does that mean since im level 2 i get two dice or did i have to rank up in it?

Matthias replies to Bofus and the group Yes, I have a spell just for scenarios like this, I could get 4 maybe even six of them in the bottle neck hallway with my burning hands. Should Mantooth and I charge them? That way we can hold them off while the rest of you use your ranged weapons. I have to be close though in order to hit the maximum number of them so we'll have to run in...Another option is Thordak could try and shoot the flute out of his hands to break it. Its clear the music is what gives him power over the beasts. If he loses it they may set upon him.

Once in the hallway Matthias closes the door behind them and asks his companions to hold on for a moment. He looks around carefully to make sure no enemies are nearby
Perception Check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Deciding it is safe he kneels down and appears to be praying. A burst of energy comes forward and washes over the entire party healing them slightly.

Channel Energy: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 everyone is healed an additional 3 points

He whispers to the group I am unable to cure any more wounds without further rest. I can channel the energy of Sarenrae again, but if I do this in the middle of battle or around unconscious foes we could find ourselves in trouble...

Will Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

Matthias swings out at the man in front of him bringing his scimitar
Attack Check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Damage Check: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 2 damage from fire
Critical Confirm: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11

ROUND 5
If the man is down Matthias will look to Florence and offer healing
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

However if he is still standing Matthias will attack again

Matthias knows he has a lot to make up for after that last poor showing of swordsmanship.

Damage Check: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 2 of which are fire. Does that mean his garments and such should be ablaze and what not??

Damage Check: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Matthias was pleased to at least hit his opponent this time!

Matthias moves to F5 and raises his scimitar above his head and lashes out at the man with the beautifully adorned rapier G5

Attack Check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Blunder Check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

After Matthias had spent so much time praying to Sarenrae inside the cage of the hellhound his muscles seem to have decayed and unable to wield his weapon he missed the man altogether and almost slashed his own leg out from under him. Embarrassed at his blunder Matthias grumbled to himself and vowed to make his next strike count.

Matthias stands as he exits the cage that once held the feral beast. He wanted to inspect its workmanship because he could tell it was a very fine cage indeed. He approaches and offers his assistance with his wounds yet again.
Seems you should get some better armor my dwarven friend, always losing bits of yourself.
Cure light wounds: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Matthias also approached the rescued woman and says
That is a most gracious offer, I have heard of armor that is stronger than a breastplate but lighter and more mobile. I am unfortunately clumsy in this armor, just earlier today I sank into the mud as I tried to climb the wall to this castle. Is there any chance you have access to any of this mithril armor that I could call my own?

Matthias again lashes out at his foe. He yells out at he swings down at his enemy.

Matthias for a third time raises his sword and stirkes out at the adjacent slaver

Matthias lashes out again sweeping vicously across the slavers midsection with his shimmering scimitar.

Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Damage: 1d6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 2 = 10 2 of which is fire damage
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17

Matthias quickly takes a step to his right.

He lifts his swords and viciously swings it down.

Matthias draws his sword and raises his shield when he hears that there are whispers behind the door. As Thordak,a bit to hastily, kicks in the door Matthias rushes to follow through.

Matthias follows Mantooth into the tower making sure to tread carefully.

Matthias who had been staring at the wall for a great while now decides he must put his fear of heights behind him and climb the wall.
Climb Check: 1d20 - 5 ⇒ (1) - 5 = -4

However upon approaching the wall Matthias is deterred from climbing and decides to instead take the path Mantooth cut through the brambles. He instructs Humphrey to stay where he is.

Upon reaching the other side of the wall Matthias approaches Thordak and asks
May I be of some assistance with your wounds?

Cure Light Wounds : 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Matthias was still shaken from the thought of climbing such a high wall and decides to take another try.
Cure Light Wounds take 2: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

More satisfied with his second attempt Matthias stands and looks around him taking in the slain Owlbear. He looks back at the gate to try and see if he could let Humphrey into the courtyard.

Matthias ignores the ramblings of the boisterous dwarf and carefully decides his next move. Matthias decides Humphrey has come this far he might as well come across the gap as well. He mounts Humphrey and backs up as far as they can to have a straight shot over the bridge. They gallop towards the bridge and Humphrey leaps as he reaches the edge...

Ride Check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16

Matthias looks at the gap and decides whether or not he thinks Humphrey could jump the distance....

Matthias comes to a halt and adresses the guard:
Please let me through the gate, a vile man has just escaped over the wall and i must aid my companion in locating him. It is crucial that I make haste.

Matthias spurs Humphrey and gallops towards the gate to the other side of the wall scanning for Nextic to see if he came down the other side.
Perception Check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Humphrey perception Check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

Matthias rounds the corner with Humphrey and they both scan the street:
Humphrey Perception Check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Matthias Perception Check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23

If Matthias sees Nextic he will give chase.

Matthias Gallops towards the on the right v12 Humphrey rears and kicks out at him:

Matthias then swings his scimitar down at the thug in a vicious swipe:
Ride Check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 Guidance
If handle animal add +3 not sure which to use
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 2 from fire damage included
Critical: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Now that the carriage is moving Matthias summons Humphrey with a short whistle that one could mistake for a bird call and tells Mantooth
Hop on! We've gotta follow this carriage so we're there when it breaks down. He mounts Humphrey (and waits a moment to see if Mantooth is coming) before urging him into motion with a pinch of his heels. Humphrey surges forward and is gone around a bend to intercept the carriage after a few blocks and follow at a safe distance so as to not attract attention.

Ahhh, my bad, is there any way i can postpone that action until the carriage starts moving? I thought with the time it took to take off armor and stuff the carriage would be underway!

Matthias motions to Mantooth Come on there isn't time to wait for thordak and cebre we can't lose this cart.
He gives out a short whistle and there is the soft noise of horses hooves as Humphrey comes trotting around the corner to meet him. Matthias mounts the horse behind the cover of the trees and motions for Mantooth to join him.
We won't be winning any races with the two of us on here but we should be able to keep up with the cart
Stealth Check If necessary 1d20 - 6 ⇒ (17) - 6 = 11
If possible Matthias will take a roundabout way to catch up to the cart so as to not attract the attention of or pass Rotskil and the remaining thugs.

I assume Matthias knows a route since he is from Brindol do I need to make any checks?

Matthias moves behind the bush with Mantooth, he whispers:
Humphrey is hidden nearby, If need be I can whistle and he will come. Also I think we can make it to that bush closer without being seen and then make our way through the shrubbery.
AA 5, just a suggestion not moving there yet...

Matthias approaches Mantooth and asks Should we circle around the back of the barn in case we have to enter?
He checks his equipment as he waits for an answer. He is wearing his armor and has his shield and sword along with his cross bow and bolts.

Before anyone separates Matthias casts guidance on everyone.
May the gods look over us on our quest tonight.
He kneels in prayer for a moment before rising and looking around at the group.

Matthias sizes up Thordak for a moment and then replies [b] Humphrey is a strong animal, he could carry us both, but the three of us would be a stretch. Is it decided that Humphrey will accompany us on this mission? If so I would need to go prepare him in the stables.

I would be willing to follow the carriage. I can be at the ready with Humphrey in case we have to rescue Bofus. I think we should have at least one other person that could follow as well though.

Matthias reaches into his pouch and pulls out 30 gold pieces and hands them over to the woman and says This is for the first week, I'm not sure how long I will be in town if I need your services beyond that I will let you know. He is located at the stable in conjunction with the Stone Wyvern. Thank you very much, I expect he will be in good hands.
Matthias lingers a moment seeing if she has anything to say and then departs and hurries back to the stone wyvern hoping he hasn't missed too much.

It is priceless to me. The object is less of an it and more of a who, he is my noble steed Humphrey, you may know him the winner of the steeple chase. A rival of mine has been very interested in obtaining him of late, Veressa Kaal. I am worried that she will resort to thievery in order to obtain him and I cannot risk that happening.

Hello, my name is Matthias Teskerwill, I am interesting in hiring some highly trained men to guard something very dear to me. They would need to be able to deal with any type of attack weather it be through trickery or force. Would you have say... 3 individuals that would fit that description?

Matthias is disgruntled by the half orc pushing him aside but had more important business to attend to. He continued out the door grumbling under his breath about clumsy orcs as he hurried to the Centigon group.

Matthias stands from the table and says:
Ah, I've forgotten some of my most important business I have to return to market street, will you all be here in an hour? I trust all of you to come up with a splendid plan! I shall return shortly and be ready to do my part.
With that Matthias dashes from the Wyvern as his newly adorned cloak whirls behind him in a dazzling display of decadency and desire.

Matthias listens to the plans carefully and replies
I think we need to ambush them at the warehouse. If they get Bofus behind closed doors alone or somewhere and we cant follow it could be more trouble than we bargained for and we would have to blow our cover anyways. I do agree we should keep at least Rotskil alive and any other "leader" figures...but handing them over to the guards could be dangerous when they are still infiltrated.

Matthias wants to ensure Humphrey's safety in this whole affair and feels it would be best to hire a couple of well trained men to guard him, where would he find such men....
