Male Human Slayer (inactive)

I got mine!

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

"I agree! I spent enough time trapped on the other side of that tapestry myself!"

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

PFS credit! Coolness!

PFS # 146423-2
Player: Malcolm Maynard
Character: Ss'alat (Nagaji Sorcerer)
Faction: Scarab Sages

This was a cool game; being able to play the "other guys".

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

"Well, this wizard was a bit of stiff opposition. But we got the job done!"

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

Cool! Would that be for PFS characters?

GM Tektite wrote:

Shew! We are essentially done, besides a tiny bit of RP.

Firstly, I want to thank everyone for sticking with this game despite running way past the original finish time. Even though we aren't under the Gameday, I have quite a few boons sitting around and will put some up for prizes if anyone wins a roll. (Like the Gameday).

Second, I need to fill out chronicles today. Please decide and let me know which PC you would like to apply the chronicle to. The level range is 6-8.

Rolls for Boons. Prizes on a "1" or "20"
[dice=322]1d20
[dice=Joliryn]1d20
[dice=Marny]1d20
[dice=Rataji]1d20
[dice=Sho]1d20

Well, that was a dud.

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

Marnarius studies the flying wizard and shoots at him with his longbow.

bow shot #1: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 311d8 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
bow shot #2: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 81d8 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11

I'm assuming the wizard has flown out of Marnaius' point blank shot range. If not, he does get +1 to hit and damage. Which won't help with the second shot, of course!

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

Marnarius moves to the base of the stairs and drinks his remaining potion of cure moderate wounds

potion CMW: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (7, 5) + 3 = 15

That helps!

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

My arrows bounced off him earlier; but knowing that's the spell would've been a bit of metagaming, which is why I didn't blurt it out in character. Besides, with a dragon right in his face, he should be profoundly distracted by now! :o

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

reflex DC 22: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19Ouch!

"Damn him!"

Realizing he won't be much use to the team if he dies soon, Marnarius pulls out one of his potions of Cure Moderate Wounds, downs it, and moves 5 ft closer to the stairwell the wizard is on.

Potion CMW CL3: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (4, 8) + 3 = 15

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

Marnarius takes a 5 ft step diagonally (South East), studies Aram quickly, and lets loose two more arrows at the wizard.

"I hope I can wear him down or give the others a chance to hit him before I'm badly hurt myself!"

arrow 1: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (19) + 13 = 321d8 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
arrow 2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 141d8 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
Studied Target and Point Blank Shot

@ GM Tektite: I figure Marnarius is just barely at point blank range; horizontally. If Aram's elevation at the top of the stops prevents using Point Blank shot, just subtract 1 from each hit and damage result. The first one should hit easily. I doubt the second is good enough to hit anyway.

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

@ Shohiraj: thanks for that, I was thinking it as a full move action. Oh well that first shot wouldn't have hit the broad side of a barn at point blank range with that natural one anyway.

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

reflex save: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
Oh well; 18 HP damage is better than all 35!

Marnarius stays where he is. He drops Caustic (the sword), and pulls out his Long Bow (Quick Draw) and takes looses two arrows at the wizard

@ GM Tektite: I hope I have that right, with the quick draw and all. I'm assuming he would take a chance on firing two quick shots without the studied target bonus than one shot with that bonus.

bow shot 1: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 111d8 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
bow shot 2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 211d8 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Too far for point blank. At least I got one decent shot in.

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

Suddenly feeling as if the air had turned back from molasses to air again, Marnarius Pulls out his Caustic, his new sword, and charges in as fast as he can to aid in the fight against the wizard.

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

will: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

Marnarius also feels himself slowing down

"This isn't good! I hope our numbers can make up for this spell!"

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

Satisfied there don't appear to be any traps, Marnarius will set about trying to unlock the door
disable device: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

Marnarius will check the door for any possible traps.
perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

You can if you like; I've got quite enough PbP characters to keep track of as it is.

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

Now that I'm having an espresso with a wee bit of lemon juice in it (yum, yum!), the little light bulb just went on about Marnarius' background.

Having been distracted by the pathfinders departure (as good an excuse as any), Marnarius realized he'd heard the voice of Wolona, his commrade in ars, for the first time in ages.

He steps into the room and says "Wolona?! Is that you? It's Marnarius! We're hear to get you out and get our revenge on the Pathfinder Society for what they did to us there!".

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

Woo! Now we're getting somewhere!

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

Marnarius will casually come closer to the door, still acting as if he's preening.

bluff: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11

And hopes the Pathfinders aren't overly perceptive!

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

Marnarius, if he's noticed, will act as he's making sure his nails are clean. But try to see what he can on the other side of the door too.

perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

Wooooo!

Marnarius will take the longsword.

"I've been looking for this! I'll call it 'Caustic'."

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

I graduated from high school ages ago.
I've put off that "responsible" rubbish, though! :D

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

Marnarius will move up beside Rataji and shoot two more arrows at the beast

point blank 1: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (4) + 13 = 171d8 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
point blank 2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 181d8 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
A couple of decent shots, if I do say so!

Are we supposed to keep track of ammo and all that fun stuff?

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

Thanks.

I'm okay most of the time, but every once in a while those meds make me lethargic at best.

Despite that, it's way better than being cranky 24/7.

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

I'm so sorry for missing the last little while, everyone. Sometimes the anti-depressant meds I take make it nigh on impossible to get myself in gear for anything.

I just got caught up on the posts and will try to keep on top of things a lot better than I have been lately.

Thanks for botting me in the mean time.

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

Marnrious carefully inspects the door for traps.
perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14

sigh

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

Me too; I've been a bit tardy (sorry about that), but I'm still here

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

Sorry for being tardy again.

Marnarius will stealthily follow the others to the meeting point.
stealth: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (5) + 12 = 17

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

Still here; just visiting my Mum at her place for a few days.

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

Sorry for the delay, everyone. Hectic few days at this end.

"Of all the blasted luck! When there's people about." … are the more polite things Marnarius is thinking with his attempt at picking the lock on the sphinx's cage.

Marnarius will have another go at picking the lock...
disable device: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26

Wooo! Much better!

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

Marnarius will move to the Sphinx's cage, trying to be casually unnoticed
stealth: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (5) + 12 = 17

And then whispers to the sphinx "Freedom ought not be too far away."

And then works on picking the lock on the sphinx's cage
disable device: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17

There's a consistency in those results. Hope they're good enough to do the trick!

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

Sorry for the wee delay; was doing my bit as a volunteer in the Canadian election yesterday. But anyway…

sense motive: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30
perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24

Marnarius, checking to make sure he's not overheard, whispers to Rataji and the oracle: "I believe our impressive and knowledgeable friend here will be willing AND more than able to create a nice diversion for us in the zoo at the right time!"

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

Marnarius will likewise check the zoo area for any notable flaws in the structure.

perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

Marnarius will try to keep his eyes open for any sign of intelligent "beasts" in the zoo who are potential allies. Or at least signs of an "off limits" area where such prisoners are more likely to be.

perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

Marnarius also tries to recall as much as he can about the zoological gardens.
knowledge local: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

@ GM Tektite:

Thanks for that. Busy weeks happen; no problem.

I know the alas name looks a bit silly, but someone was already using Marnarius as an alias. But at least I found an icon with a good sneer! :D

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

"Very well. I would hazard a guess that our potential allies in the 'zoo' are probably hidden in a prison not easily found. But I'm sure we have skill and force to access."

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

"A good place to start would be the so-called 'zoological' gardens. There are prisoners there thirsty for their own revenge. If we could find and release some of them, that would provide an enjoyable distraction against the pathfinders."

Marnarius spits out the name 'pathfinders' with disgust.

"I'm not overjoyed about the prospect of going back into the tapestry after being stranded there for several years. On the other hand, many of our fellow Aspis colleagues, including my friends, are there still. Just the prospect of getting them back home to fight the pathfinders will be worth it!"

Male Human Slayer (inactive)

Hello All! It are I, "Xunal".
Stepping in to play Marnarius the slayer.
Sort of a last minute thing.
I just need to get caught up on the material before I post something more interesting tomorrow.
