Maria stops to look for a good spot to fire an exploratory rock further down the hall.

Blast roll if needed: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

Damage: 2d6 + 8 ⇒ (4, 4) + 8 = 16

That there is no sign of the others concerns Maria. She turns on her heels and heads back down the hallway at a quickened pace.

Maria nods at the suggestion to turn back, pushing off of Bump and hustling back to the door as he speaks.

When she gets within range, she gives a short hop of a jump and fires a small boulder at the door that slammed shut with a kick.

Kinetic Blast: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19

Flying Kick powered rock: 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (3, 3) + 10 = 16

"Trick? We hold our breath. Not much else I can do."

Maria's plan is to break the door down. Subtle, I know.

Maria wakes slowly, her eyes take in the faint light underground. In a moment she notices her very recent companion Bump is carrying her over his shoulder. And that they're alone.

"What happened *Hack* Bump? Where *cough* are the others? Brand?"

After going through the door first Maria, perhaps unintentionally ends up near the back of the group in the dark.

"Do you want me to smash it?" Maria says in a deadpan as she puts her hand on her hip. She probably isn't serious.

Maria is just making her way through the exit when she sees her speech impared friend investigate the skeleton. "Don't touch that. You know where it's been."

She makes her way out of the room through the other side unless someone proposes a different idea.

"They're dolls Brand. Saw you playing with one back home, right?" Maria asks with an undetectable smile under her new helmet. She directs her voice to the new kids.

"Babies." Maria scoffs, yet it takes her an uncharacteristic amount of time to get herself ready to proceed.

Maria's footfalls sound like metal slamming onto stone. she stomps forward a couple of feet to smack down another possessed doll with a similar gesture.

Smack down: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24

Moar rocks: 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (3, 3) + 10 = 16

"I think I'm gonna hit them with rocks. You know, mix things up a little."

The woman leans forward ever-so-slightly and exhales with a deep, long breath. Her arms and fingers outstretched low and wide. As she does this earthen matter arises from the ground, some rising past her head, yet more attaching itself to Maria. She's quickly encased in nearly black stone head to toe, smooth and almost metallic in texture. A full helm with a visor and downward sloping plates covering this distinguish this protective suit of armor from simple rocks.

Overflow Blast: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24

Really Localized Rock Slide: 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (5, 3) + 10 = 18

Maria swipes her right hand from left to right fully extended as a jagged set of rocks streak through the air in unison at the doll she struck already.

I promise I won't describe that happening every time I use that ability. Also, one point of burn. I get DR 2/Adamantine out of that description. 28 effective HP now.

And then we taught the dolls the meaning of friendship. They went on to open a line of Darbie toys featuring a fully loaded dollhouse!

Maria shoots Bump a look before the dolls spring to life. It seems to say, "what a pansy."

Initiative: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

AGH! She immediately jumps at the sight with a high-pitched shriek, like a pansy.

Maria handles this the same way she crushes every obstacle in her way.

Violently: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

Violent damage: 2d6 + 8 ⇒ (1, 5) + 8 = 14

She instead chooses to fire a small cluster of needle-like rocks at a doll chosen at random. As opposed to the normal massive stone.

In case it matters, Piercing damage, and a reminder the Kinetic blast counts as magic.

Maria shakes her head, luckily speaking to one of the people here who can actually see her do that. Like a smoke signal. Will let the target know exactly where we are.

But I could crush the dolls. See what happens.

C'mon. Can't waste time. Anything important about these dolls? Maria urges the others to follow her. Unless the ones with darkvision would like to go first.

Maria nods to Bump in approval. she turns her head over to the rest of the group with her findings.

Only some of these marks were made with the blade. The others, claws. Animals don't kidnap. Someone had a pet, like Bump.

She looks back over to the man she mentioned and glances to Shiva, nodding over in a suggestion to show her the bloody clothing.

Nearly finished leveling Maria. This level I got:

  • More HP

  • Each point of burn now costs 3 non-lethal HP.

  • Elemental Overflow. An actually kinda neat scaling bonus to attack/damage that goes up with burn, comes with cool visual effects.

  • Skill ranks. Maria grew knowledge of a new language today (Terran).

  • Infusion. Only thing left to decide. Either Extended Range so her blast reaches 120 ft, or Pushing Infusion for the option to bull rush targets hit by Maria's blast. The second option isn't actually all that great, but it sounds fun.

    Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17 Maria her search in silence. She specifically checks the gouges in the wall.

    Where do we find the market? After an answer, Maria gets up from her seat adjusting her armor before leaving.

    Maria seems keen to continue being her warm self to the new recruits, pointing her thumb to herself, she speaks for the first time since the show began.

    Maria. You two with us. A shame. I kind of liked being the tallest. We should be finished with our duty sooner than I expected.

    She then turns to whoever's giving the mission I'm not sure if it's the queen telling us this or not.

    Where was she seen last?

    Ashling seemed like a tough kid, but I still have to wonder how something like this will affect her.
