"Strength here?" Magda taps her head "Here?" she taps her chest where her heart is "Or here?" she taps her bicep. Though men as large as those are, she already knows which strength they are talking about. "Our wall would be best suited for..." she squeezed her arm, flexing just a tiny bit. She can see he is already expecting and ready "Is aid, before, allowed in a Srenda?"

While Yazi listens, Magda talks. She kneels down a the cairn "Oh? Poking and pressing... can help." she adjusts a lower rock, making the entire pile settle just a sliver. "good? good. The sun does feel nice, yes." she rubbed a small smudge off the imp skull "Gaekhan was nice, I know cause Bones guy is nice and nice is nice when nice is mirrored." she whispers to the dragon skull.

Magda chews her lips for a moment with her oversized lower teeth, seemingly unconcerned. "We've been far, far away from our home, seen much, done more, and still have heaps and hordes to do." she shrugs, looks to the raised brow of the wall than back at the angry giant "Meaning, yes, if it'll make the path easier for the spears to stay clean for those that gave us shelter, test that which isn't in question." the ease of her tone, the relaxing stance of her leaning on her spear, and the glean of wisdom in her eyes make words ring true and good.

Magda listens and watches, occasionally sniffs. She's used to being an outsider to people, even if she never felt out of place.

Mags laid her spear to the ground, with a small sigh. The spear whimpering a Long Noooo during the journey. How will you stand without me? She understood, since to her it was barely a weapon, instead it was her support, more than not leaning into it.

The few others joined the pile, getting a gentle pat, and an assurance to them much like a child when a parent must leave them.

Pain hits the shaman hard. But not enough to put her down. She quickly gets off the horse (either normally or by climbing off the ground after it is toast) and tries to have the spirits of the gore hamper the nearest beast like her beloved city would.

Mags can be rear guard. Even though she has a great perception, her ability to ride is crap, maybe she will see if anyone is attempting to follow them

"As good as real horse" Mags says with a tone that suggests she does not like real horses much. As the group prepares, she makes sure the others are protected from the heat. Whispers suggest wind might be good as well, so she asks the land the provide.

Mags nods, turning away to the storm, looks at the bulkly land fish. "Do you think it tastes good?"

Mags felt the letter, knows the paper, smelled her friend, recognized the flow of her speech, and the swoop of her 'L's, plus there are the whispers. "I know, but knowing without some cracks is..." she pauses trying to find a word but shrugs, her vocabulary is still mostly limited "... a lie"

ultimately, in a word of super high magic there will Never be a way to be 100% sure. Someone is always stronger. So having Mags be the confidence needed to accept the crazy elf semi murderer into the group, just cause she is a player character :)

"Vera thinks we can trust her... enough to tell her where we were." Mags tells the wall. She knows the wall has to come to this decision himself, walls don't move easy, but nudging helps.

A smile crosses over Mags' face, a slightly sad one cause she misses her friend even more than she misses her city. "Vera is okay." she tells the others.

She passes the letter to Yazi.

Hey Mags, I hope you’re well. Jolstina broke out of prison - and she came to find me. I was worried so I sort of magicked her but it turned out she wanted to help me. Soooo, she helped me track down Ishani, and now he’s okay, so I guess the harrow was wrong! But she was pretty handy and I think she’s sorry for what she did, but also is a little crazy. I can’t watch over her but maybe Yazi can help her? They both have had to deal with a lot, and so did you but I don’t want to stress you out. So be nice to her and I hope you’re okay with your fun adventure! I miss you all, even Marcus. Please send my love!

"her clothes like to sing." Mags explains "But each song does not fit together like mortar and bricks, more like loose thatch in a heavy wind." she shakes her head at the discordant pitches as she tries to read (reading is still hard for her on a good day).

Magda stares into the storm, trying to decide whether to fight or take the letter. After nearly a minute, she looks down at the envelope. Vera's special stash of stationary, that she fretted over since it was more than either of these street kids would have considered spending on anything. But 'I deserve this' Vera had said finally with a huff, breaking through her internal arguments.

She only used it for very important things.

And it smelled like her.

Which made Mags homesick.

Finally she stepped forward, spear angled to the sky again and took the letter. She opened and read, after stepping back.

At the mention of Vera, Mag's eyes flare a sickly red and she stops leaving on her spear, instead it is now pointed at the colorful storm.

Magda had been mostly ignoring the others as they discuss what to do. They will do what they do, that is all. She had been instead been kneeling to look at a small vividly purple thistle, somehow thriving in this blistering heat. Mags almost hears a whispering song something she thinks is a gleeful 'I will survive', but is having a hard time making it all out.

Then they are attacked, the rumble of the soil had alerted her of something, but she doesn't know things well enough to know what it meant.

"We know you?" Mags stands watching the elf, her head tilted against her held spear. "Or did?" her voice is slower still, distracted and sad, but she is focusing as much as she can through the fog. "Why are you here?"

Mags had been silent, but then nodded "Said we would, knew we would, just you all needed to circle a bit before we could." the half orc girl shrugged, reaching down to run a finger along the curved edge of the desk and smiled as it crooned a bit.

She looks the pincushion (Laori, both soft and sharp), "You going to be here when we get back?"

"So we share" she doesn't sit, but wanders the room, head cocked as is listening to something (many things), until she reaches a desk that is practically sings PICK ME. She smiles then sits on the polished wood.

"My city liked to gossip like the old crones at the fish market.[/b]" she agrees about the ears. "This one... loves..." she breathed in "Smells" from baking to blood it seemed.

As the two bicker, Mags nods to Laori "She's our friend. She's why we're here. And we have to do what we have to do, so do you, meaning working together just makes sense." but her face scrunches in distaste at what the saw (Krovax) says. "You know a little more, so why not tell us now?"

Whispers, words, forgotten raindrops from old gutters, a dark thing into side it's guts, this city was alive. It wasn't hers, but it was still alive, and talking to her.

"Hmmm..." she looks at the gaggle of kids at the opening, spotting their eagerness pushed on by fear and hunger. "Why just one" she asks, and hires one after another, giving them a task to do, a get me a smooth pebble, a sliver of wood from an trash fire, a torn hunk of sock, three rats teeth, so on and so on until they all have a job, and two coppers to go do it.

"Hey!" she shouts to each before they go "If you can't find me, give them to the lady with the kind eyes." she doesn't clarify Yazi, but there aren't much kinder in these lands she thinks or any.

She gets a look from the Wall, but shrugs, soft and sad "They'd be beaten if they come back with nothing, you know it for truth in the puddle, as you do."

One of the last times she saw this man, who was like a saw into his own pain, he had slammed her against the wall, screaming his own self hate at her, and she was kicking him as hard as she could shouting she'd never care anymore about him ever again.

But he is here, and life has moved on. So she goes up to him, leans her forehead on his shoulder and says "Hey" with no judgement, just familiar greeting.

"What things are down there?" Mags manages to ask the dwarf, both out of pragmatism and curiosity. There are whispers... different, soft, almost... seductive?

really asking to know if there is a type of monster they know they face a lot so she can cast hunter's blessing.

For now the shaman moves around, her spells bring a rumble of the market, the smells of the port, the heat of well sunned cobbles... she misses them so much.

She will also extend her city's protection, as weak as it is out her, to Yazi.

Ward of the city hex: +7 untyped save vs disease and poison and 35% bonus on percentage chances to negate critical hits and sneak attacks. (This stacks with effects such as fortification, or abilities that grant a creature with no chance to negate critical hits a flat 25% chance.) Each time the ward is used (whether the roll is successful or not), the bonuses are reduced by 1 and 5%, respectively.

Mags stops, a good twenty feet in front of the others. She looks back but doesn't say anything.

Magda worries at the other voices, not her voices, not the steady trickle of a gutter but a gushing of a stream, not the squeaks of the curious rat, but the chittering of those rats with the fluffy tails (squirrels, Yazi tells her as Magda stares in confusion at one).

It too much so she wads some cloth into her ears.

Then the beautiful winged ones soar out of the sky like pretty pretty pigeons, and she knows one. She lays a hand on Marcus's arm, shaking her head at the bow, more herself in that moment, then hurries beside Kali to hug the feathered wonder.

"Hi" she breathes into his fur.

In the other city, her first other city, the voices can be felt, not simply heard. But she blocks it all out. Even the cobblestone singing about feet, which is actually quite beautiful and, well, disturbing.

Reading the signs, she starts heading up the path marked 4 miles. The sooner they complete this task, the sooner she is home where she belongs.

MAgda looks up from her fog as Trinia talks. She manages a brief smile and a nod, agreeing both about the jokes and her joining them. Then her eyes wander again back toward her city.

The still humanized Mags simply pushes a rock softly with her boot, around in small flips from rough point to wide bulge. She stares at it for moments, then suddenly looks up "You want us to go further away?" there is a creak in her voice, a minor breaking, like thin ice on a puddle.

A little cream, hiding her ears in her hair, and keeping her mouth closed makes Mags lose her orcish heritage, almost to a startling degree.

Her continued quiet also helps sell her role in the disguise, a demure 'bride' for the rough not Wall. She even manages to not flinch when he touches her shoulder or grasps her arm.

At the request for funds, Mags slips off her magical pack and counts out the coin needed, handing it over without a fuss other than a nod of thanks for his work.

She runs her hands along the table, missing knowing what it thinks of never seeing the sunlight.
