Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

I've been struggling to keep up with this one and think I am going to have to drop it.

I just don't like automatons and such in my fantasy games. It messes up with my world view. Just my personal preference.

I also kept getting confused with your posts. I think it would have been a bit better to have separate avatars for your GM posts and your posts as Thaane.

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

I know nothing of automatons or the significance of gems in their chests. Also thrown off by Kilm. Is this game going to be have a lot of odd mechanical things in it?

Lilly dinks you with the wand a few times.

clw 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
clw 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
clw 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

Having decided that there is no immediate threat, Lilly will have taken the time to look at the wand and then see to those that are still injured.

Feel free to roll healing for however many times you would ask Lilly to tap you with the wand.

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

Lilly nods in agreement as Khartelosch speaks. "We signed contracts to guard and guide the caravan through the wasteland. We need to get back to it and appraise them of the situation."

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

"What is the black blood?"

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

Lilly stares at Thaane. "What the hell yet again? The only things that suffer when I channel healing energy are undead."

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

"Silvash, at this point I am just trying to figure out what these three are before I figure out who.

Lilly has never seen a vanara before either so isn't sure what Ibrah is.

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

Bow still trained on the newcomers until she figures out what is going on, Lilly sends out a wave of healing energy.

Channeling healing energy for her injured comrades 1d6 ⇒ 5

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

Lilly is very confused by the sudden appearance of the birdman and Thaane and his eerie cloak of darkness.

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

"What the hell are you, who the hell is Thaane and what the hell is going on here."

Lillyanna has her bow trained on the creepy newcomer and his eerie cloak of darkness, unsure if he is on their side or if he just plans on killing everyone.

Lilly, is your shield spell still active?

?

I have no Shield spell listed on my sheet and never casted any spells at all during this fight yet.

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

Lily sighs and shoots at a wolf.

attack 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
damage 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

confirm crit 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
damage 2d8 ⇒ (7, 1) = 8

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

Lilly will shoot another arrow at an orc.

attack 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
damage 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

Lilly keeps firing her bow at the orcs.

attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
damage 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

Why roll Initiative again?

Preferring to keep out of Melee range with the powerful orcs, Lilly shoots one with her bow again.

attack 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
damage 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

Lillyanna takes another shot at the orc.

attack 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
damage 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

Lilly takes a shot at an Orc with her bow and complains. "I knew we just shoulda killed them rather than talk."

aiming for one not in melee yet
attack 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
damage 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

Lilly sighs as she turns to look at the others in her group, specifically the half-orc. "Does anyone understand what he just said?"

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

Lillyanna will just start riding towards the fray at a leisurely pace for now with her bow out. Watching to see what happens between the orcs and the scorpion while she does so.

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

Lilly sighs. "I suppose we can at least attempt to talk to them, but at the first sign of any treachery I say we deal with them swiftly."

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

GM roll makes the combat go faster. Otherwise you can end up wasting a whole day of waiting for people to roll initiative before you can even get to people stating their actions. If you try to solve that by having people post an action with their initiative roll, then you tend have too many people wanting to go back and change heir actions based on what went on ahead of them in the round.

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

Okay, so the scorpion attacking us is not one of the ones fighting the orcs right now. Gotcha. That is where I was confused.

Liilyanna aims her bow at the scorpion attacking the paladin.

attack 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (9) + 5 - 4 = 10
miss :(

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

I am confused as to why we got so close that the scorpions could attack us in the first place. Once we saw the battle, I would have suggested that we back off and the let the orcs and scoripions fight on their own and then take out whoever is left.

Could we not have heard the fighting before we got so close?

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

Init 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

I still need the range question answered before I can decide upon any action.

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

Wait a minute, how close are we to the orcs and scorpions? I would think we would have stopped far enough that we would have been well out of range of the fight?

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

"I can go and scout out the eastern route as well."

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

There seems to be a lot of posting while I am sleeping. I can post mainly during daylight hours of Eastern Standard time. If this is going to be an issue I can drop game.

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

"Did someone in the caravan catch your eye already?"

Lilly lets Tress into her room and assists her in an attempt to tame her wild, red locks.

Later, once they get to the common room for breakfast, Lilly helps herself to decent sized meal, somewhere between the Tress's and Verrin's.

As positions are discussed: "I would prefer to ride up near the front position. You never know what hazards even natural terrain can pose and I would like to try out the trail before the caravan goes over it. Also, are there any maps of the areas we are going to be traveling through? If so, I would like a chance to look over them."

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

"Knowing who speaks what languages could be useful depending upon what we encounter on our journey. I can speak Elvish, Celestial and Sylvan. I am not much of a teacher, but I could try to help you understand Celestial Verrin."

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

Lilly will introduce herself when her turn comes around...

"I'm Lillyanna. I'm good at tracking and finding my way around wildernesses and wastelands. Erastil has also blessed me with a bit of magical talent, including some healing."

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

Lilly looks a bit confused by Tress's "savored sting" comment, but then figures out what she meant.

"I follow Ersatil, not Calistria. As for beer, I wouldn't mind one myself, though I would suggest against getting flat out drunk before the caravan is supposed to leave."

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

Lillyanna had been at the Cloudreaver Keep for whole week now, waiting around in the hopes that a departing caravan would soon be hiring.

I hope I can actually get a spot in this caravan. When the last one to leave here could only afford either myself or Torvald, I told him to go ahead and that I was sure to get the next one leaving. A whole week here in this Keep is driving me crazy. I really just want to get out on the road again and not feel so closed in by all these buildings and stinky people.

Seeing a fellow walk up to the young captain, Lilly decides to slowly move up behind him to also present herself for hiring.

"I've interest in joining your caravan as well sir. I have experience at guiding wagons and dealing with potential hazards."

In her well-worn travel leathers, Lillyanna certainly seems capable enough and she carries her longbow and battle axe like she knows how to use them despite her slender physique.

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

Reporting in.

I'll fix my header and doublecheck my gear. Tress's post made me realize that Lilly would likely have her own horse too since she travels a lot on her own.

Main crunch and fluff done. I even invested most of my gold in Masterwork composite longbow. :)

And if you are curious, Germany, I will likely be taking more Ranger than Cleric levels and focusing more on Ranged fighting with my longbow. A barb/oracle concept would be totally different from what I have planned. :)

Changing my deity to Erastil since trade is in his portfolio it would makes more sense for me to be guiding a trading caravan.

I am glad you fixed that typo, I was really confused for a minute..........

Also I think I will go with the Guide ranger archetype. Makes total sense for what I want.

Right now I am considering a cleric of Gozreh / ranger hired to help navigate the wasteland. I will have to check to see if any archetypes go with my concept.

May I ask what material, races and classes are allowed for the game?

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

"Grimma, this will be easier for us all if you will let us leave you bound and gagged. Perhaps in one of our tavern rooms after we sneak in to see the rest of our group. What is your child's name? We will free him from this Alicia as well. "

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

"We will take Grimma with us, but keep her weapon for now and keep her hands tied. We can gag her later as we near the orphanage. I'm sorry Grimma, but we can't risk you attacking us again. We will do our best to free all the children who may be at the orphanage, including your son. Now let's get moving quickly, we may not have much time before they find out about Timmy. As we walk, I want you to answer some questions for us Grimma. Such as why Alicia is stealing children? What does she do with them?" Lilly will free any bindings on Grimma's feet, but keeps possession of her axe as they begin to walk. She let's Grimma take the lead, hoping that she is telling the truth about leading them out.

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

"I think we should head to the orphanage after we are all gathered together again. That is the most likely place they would take Timmy and Alicia might be there to welcome Sandy back with a new 'orphan'."

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

"I think we should head back to the inn and check on the others quickly. For all we know they could be under a similar attack and may need our help. Though we should head there stealthily at first until we've reached the others. No reason to draw too much attention to us until we are all together."

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

If Grimma is still grappled when Lilly goes again, she will assist in holding her down and tieing her up with some rope.

grapple assit / tie-up 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

Did Lilly's first attack hit?
round 2
attack 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
damage 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
confirm attack 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
extra damage if confirmed damage 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

Lillyanna takes another swing at Grimma.

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

Just assume Lilly made that statement before the fog cleared.

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

"I will deal with Grimma, you two take Sandy."

Initiative 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Attack 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Damage 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

will save 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25

"Perhaps the little girl should also explain the aura of evil that clings about her? As well as telling us who this "Alicia" is?"

Female Half-Elf Cleric / 1 and Ranger / 1 HP: 22 / AC: 16 / Init: +3 / Will: 4 / Reflex: 5 / Fort: 5

A bit confused by the faint aura about Sandy, Lillyanna casts Detect Magic and looks over at the girl, wondering perhaps if she is some creature in disguise. After all, children are inherently good, right...?
