That sounds like your local game shop was breaking the street dates for merchandise they received. I’m assuming that Paizo has street dates for its books like any other publisher. That’s not really something to get upset with Paizo about.

How do you print them on cloth or nylon? Do you have access to some sort of special printer?

No, that’s not what they’re saying. They’re saying the artwork for NPC Core is all new thus the Foundry token pack will have this all new artwork as well.

I know it's not financially viable to do spell card releases for smaller sets, but how about making the spells from this book and other source books available as print-on-demand via DriveThruCards? You used to do it for the Pathfinder Card Game for Society cards, so could you do the same here?

Next Lost Omens is Rival Academies, detailing Six magical academies in Golarion. Narratively is set in a conference between the six schools in Sarkoris where they have a, ahem, "friendly" competition killing demons. Will have an update to the Runelord archetype and Sin Magic in general. They didn't outright say it, but it sounds like it will update a lot of Secrets of Magic lore.

I’m kind of disappointed by this. I’ve wanted a book covering the new version of magic schools since they were announced for the Remaster but six just seems disappointingly small. Hopefully maybe each academy will have multiple curricula for each (aka, schools). Like maybe the Magambyaa will have a school for each of its branches. Or maybe they’ll be a section covering academies that couldn’t attend but sent summaries detailing how their academy works. And I hope all of the crunchy, player focused parts are consolidated for each academy. One of the frustrating things with the Lost Omens books is there can be a huge amount of fluffy, world building text and then suddenly there’s rules for a feat or a new item. It would be nice if that was all gathered in one section of the book.

What do you imagine would be in Player Core 3? Maybe a consolidation of the classes in the other non-remastered source books?

I think Monster Core 2 would be more likely.

Here’s hoping that one of those board game announcements is that the upcoming Kickstarter Pathfinder Quest project is actually a modular system. I’m hoping it might be something like a replacement for the Pathfinder Card Game. And maybe have its own Pathfinder Quest Society organized play. It would be a great way to introduce people to Pathfinder in something that most everyone is familiar with.

And I really want one of those play mats!! Maybe you can “accidentally” lose a box and end selling the extras on the website…

While that would be an increase for Oracle, that's what Sorcerer has always had.

Although it should be noted that Wizards also have 4 slots per rank... one is just locked in. (Universalists get to Drain Bonded Item for each rank separately, which effectively lets them cast 4 per rank each day)

And of course Clerics have thier font feeding them 4 extra slots at their highest rank each day, which I would say is at on par with that extra slot per rank even with it being limited to Heal/Harm.

Should have looked up sorcerer. But the text under Oracle Spellcasting still says the Oracle starts with 2 1st level spell slots.

Is the table for the oracle’s spell progression correct in Player Core 2?.The table shows them starting with 3 1st rank spells and going up to 4. Same thing happens with each new rank. They start at 3 and got to 4.

But the Oracle Spellcasting section says they can cast 2 1st-rank spells at 1st level. Pre-remaster they followed the same progression as cleric or wizard.

(Edited to remove references to sorcerer.)

Don't get me wrong ... I like great gaming artwork as much as the next player, but by the second session, the player-facing artwork of a screen might as well be blank.

(I do know there are screens that allow player-facing inserts and the like, and I'm aware that a GM can clip stuff to the player side. My question has more to do with why screens are produced this way. For example, maybe screens with player-facing info simply sell worse?)

Unless you’re sitting right next to the DM or gathered around a tiny table, the players aren’t going to be able to read anything in those tables.

The wording for Shield of the Spirits is unclear. Does it benefit all of your allies that are within your aura or do you have to specify one that is benefiting? I think it applies to all allies, but the “While one of your allies…” wording is throwing me off.

No, this is not a card game. The closest thing we have to the Arkham Horror card game is the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game. This is more similar to the actual Arkham Horror board game than the card game version.

Isn’t the Adventure Card Game dead though? I’d love for it not to be or for an official 2nd edition but it seems pretty dead. I mean most of the pages for it on Paizo.com just lead you in a circle.

Yes but that’s a rule book, not a setting book like Divine Mysteries or my hoped for Arcane Mysteries. Not to mention that there’s plenty of stuff in Secrets of Magic that could use a Remaster touch up (e.g., Rune magic). And as someone with a PFS Silence in Snow Witch, we could use a lot of ice themed spells.

I really hope this means that 2025 will give us a matching Arcane Mysteries or something similar. I really want a book that spells out a whole mess of spell schools. What I think they should have is like a core curriculum (spells that any wizard attending would need to learn) and then something like specialty groups (like majors at a college). Maybe they could be something like cleric domains where certain schools would allow access to certain domains but not to others.

I really hope there’s a Pathfinder Battles miniature set in the works for some of the new creatures (and some of the old ones that don’t have miniatures). I really wish some of the old minis would either get reprinted or updated and rereleased.

My wishlist hope would be an upgraded Adventure Path subscription that included 3D stl files for the new monsters and combat involved NPCS introduced each month. I don’t know if their contract with WizKids would allow such a thing but it would be a nice way to have minis without needing the complications of Pathfinder Battles release. Or if nothing else, maybe a PDF of printable pawns. And maybe have the new monster stats prepared as printable battle cards.

I ask because December marks the 3rd month in a row that I haven’t received the scenarios without contacting customer service. I used to get them but it seems to have broken when I added subscriptions and became eligible to get both subscriptions for free.

So I haven't seen a lot of preview information yet from the YT channels, but are these just being treated as their own ancestry with limited options of feats specifically related to their ancestry? Like the dromaar (half orc) and dwarf example, are there gonna be feats that allow this character to have the option to take both orc and dwarf ancestry feats?

I have the remaster book (well, the PDF), and that is essentially how it works. You pick an ancestry to be the base (for things like size and speed and traits) and then can layer another on top, gaining a trait that matches the second ancestry. And then you can pick ancestry feats from either one. The half-orc and half-elf also have some specific feats and I suspect that other combinations going forward will also have specific feats.

I wish Stride were defined as using 1-3 actions. My desire is mostly cosmetic, but so many times I see players moving diagonally and they reach the end of their movement with 5 feet left but the next diagonal is the 10 foot correction. So they instead move vertically or horizontally to avoid wasting that 5 feet. Then they Stride again and essentially use the next 5 feet of movement to complete the diagonal they really wanted to make in the first place.

There’s a similar issue with moving through difficult terrain. With the standard 25 feet of movement, you end up wasting 5 feet of movement with every Stride action.

Just let them make a 2-action stride and get 50 feet of movement.

I think the term “activity” is just to cover things that don’t involve physically acting, like Recall Knowledge or Sustain a Spell. But maybe there’s a hidden, deeper meaning in the term.

Will this ship as part of October subscription content or November? The Release Schedule says this is a November release but this entry says October (I guess it technically says both at different spots). This is in my Sidecart and I try to make sure I have $100 worth of items coming every month (subscriptions + Sidecart) for the shipping discount. I just want to know if I need to add anything to my Sidecart to reach that $100 minimum for October.

Now to step-in here to address a few things based on this post.

1) Organized Play scenarios have an art budget. It only allows the developer to get so much art. More art, means higher production cost on these scenarios, which is difficult for Organized Play where many scenarios are given out to volunteers for free. It's a situation where we'd need to see massive spike in sales on these products to get us the budgets we'd need to add more art. So if you want to see more NPC art, I'd suggest buying more scenarios (and getting your friends to buy them too!)

2) With regards to editing: mistakes happen. If there's major issues, politely report them through the forums and other venues where you can interact with your developers and they'll take the necessary steps to get them fixed. In some cases, these fixes might be minor (typos or the like) and might not be worth it to have 2-3 staff members involved in spotting/updating/re-uploading the...

1. Scenario 4-12 had artwork for the Witch’s Talon which was basically a closeup of the head of the Witch of the Owl. And both of those were just there to get taken out by the player characters. Assuming that the Witch’s Talon would have cost the same as artwork for the missing council member, having all 4 council members seems like a better choice.

2. Maybe “proofreading” was the wrong word to use. It’s more about play testing because the issues with 4-13 affect being able to properly run the scenario. I don’t care about a minor grammatical or spelling error, but having text that says a monster should immediately run away affects game mastering. Having a map that says “Enemies Start Here” but having text that says at least one enemy doesn’t start there affects game mastering.

If this isn’t the right place to mention those issues, where is? I tried to find some place in the forums but there’s a ton of stick y threads dominating that seem outdated and dead. Someone posted about the enemy placement issue in the final encounter in the comments for 4-13 but has never received a response clarifying what is supposed to be going on. I’m happy to move discussions on issues with PFS scenarios to the proper place but I honestly don’t know where that is.

Could we get artwork for all the major NPCs in each adventure? It always seems like there’s one missing. For example, in 4-12 there’s images for 3 of the NPCS you’re trying to convince but none for Tekawenda Ulash.

And maybe some more proofreading? In 4-13, on page 14 it says “The scrit fights until reduced to 10 Hit Points or fewer…” but the scrit only has 8 Hit Points to start with so does that mean it just immediately runs away. That page also says the Level 3-4 encounter includes a Troublesome Scrit which is supposed to be a Creature 3. Except that on page 27, it’s level 1 and if you actually compare it to the Level -1 Meddlesome Scrit, it’s actually weaker (the only difference between the two is that the Meddlesome Scrit has a Spell DC of 16 while the “stronger” Troublesome Scrit has a lower Spell DC of 15).

I started playing Pathfinder Society and had to get Warhorn to sign up for the games. It seems to be a pretty terrible tool. It took numerous searches of the group name to finally find the people creating events for the local PFS group. And one it’s biggest flaws is that there is no way to search based on geography as far as I’ve found. So, great, I search for PFS 2.0 games and see one listed for the next day. Too bad it’s 1,000 miles away.
