No one has mentioned this yet (I'm kinda surprised actually) but how about Pocket Editions of some of the Hard bounds other than the Core Rules. Don't get me wrong, I love the Hard-bound books, and use them in my home games (Special Edition printings too, when they are available), but the Pocket Editions just travel better. At this point I'd like All of the Alien Archives in Pocket Editions, Armory, Pact Worlds, Near Space, basically anything that gets a hardbound, gets a pocket edition a year or two later.

I'm totally fine with no Piers Anthony books being on the list, but I am a bit surprised by the total lack of Philip K. Dick.

(I know, I know, there's no way to fit everything on the list, and hindsight grants a +10 on all Knowledge checks only after a product has already gone to the printers.)

What's wrong with Piers Anthony? If you exclude the pun loaded Xanth series (which really is straight up fantasy-comedy), the vast majority of his work is decent Sci-Fi / Science Fantasy.

Steppe
Battle Circle (Sos the Rope, Var the Stick and Neq the Sword)
the Cluster Series
Chthonn & Phthorr
The Bio of a Space-Tyrant

All of these are appropriate, heck Pazio even reprinted 2 of the in their Planet Stories line.

Much as I dislike him, I am actually surprised at the omission of Orson Scott Card from the list.

The Shobhad - Akhiton's resident 4-armed giant nomads armed with Raydium rifles. :) They are an homage to ERB's Green Martians, though culturally distinct.

What are the chances we can get an Ekkie, Tup and Reepazo in a pre-painted plastic mini? We've gotten Ranzak, Chuffy Lickwound, Reta Bigbad, Poolg of Zargonel, Mogmurch, Vorka, Warchief Ripnugget, Konkrud (Chuffy re-paint) and those are just the ones given proper names. I need more :)

Bummed I missed out on the limited edition of the collected edition (Got the Rise LE and it is sweet). Here's as good a place as any to make my opinion known. I feel that on collected editions, the Limited Edition Version should be the ONLY version (no LE version, just a normal print run like Pazio normally does, but with the only cover being the Faux leather and foil embossed version), it just looks classier than the main release. There, it's out there, I said it. /End Whinging.

Also, where on earth can I find artwork for ancient (or older) versions of either one? I think there's a picture of an ancient silver on the cover of Part 1 of Wrath of the Righteous but it's partially obscured by the female half-orc NPC of the Adventure Path and also there's the little dis-savoring part with the Balor decapitating it. :(

Does Paizo ever plan on giving us ancient (or older) artwork for the metallics? I really wanna know. :(

A gargantuan Silver or Gold Dragon would be nice (heck, ANY, Gargantuan Metallic Dragon would be cool). For that matter a Gargantuan Black (Pathfinder Style :) ) and a Gargantuan Blue (that isn't decked out in gold and magic) would be great. What can I say, I love Dragons.

This is why I'm so sad that the Evolutions only got 2 species of Dragon out before they more or less died :(

Silver Dragon!! I love how the figure seems very sinuous, almost fluid in its build and posture. It is a nice contrast to the bulkier Red, and Whites we have had in recent memory. Its look also just screams Pathfinder.

The Beast!! From the cover of one of my favorite adventure paths.

The Kirrix !? It's cool looking, I know nothing about it, but I like it. Now all I need to do is figure out where I can use that bad boy.

A dire boar, really? Another big red dragon... Come on guys, some of us have all the wizards minis and don't need reprints.

Yeah, yeah these are nicer models and better painted by frankly I don't need any of this stuff. You guys know what's been released before so why not stick to pathfinder monsters and stuff that wizards didn't make?
It has to be better for sales - if anyone wants a dire boar mini just google it and it's yours already.
I'm finding your policy of pretending the D&D stuff doesn't exist utterly infuriating, which is why having religiously purchased every wizards set (and in the case of some of the first few, multiple sets) I'm not subscribing to your mini's range- not to mention they're overpriced.

Remember Backward Compatibility and it's importance at Pathfinders birth? We already got this stuff. Who the hell needs a dire boar who hasn't already picked some up?
Crazy.

Backward compatiblility is not the issue here. Availability is. The Dire Boar from the DDM line, was released in the Harbinger Set, as a Rare and was hard to come by even 12 years ago and currently goes for between 13$ and 25$ (19$ here on Paizo's Store) on the secondary market (Assuming you want a wild one, The Thunder tusk boar from Desert of Desolation is more moderately priced (6$ here at Paizo), but has the drawback of having a saddle and armor.) A Dire Boar (or any Dire animal really), is something that most DM's are going to need multiples of, something which is not really feasible at 20$ a shot.

As for the Gargantuan Red, it is A) the last Chromatic Dragon to get a Gargantuan Sculpt (And as much as I love My Colossal red, I've only really had call to use it once, but my Gargantuan White and Blue DDM Dragons have seen much use, and my new Paizo ones are likely to see as much (Blue, White, Green, Brinebones, and now Red), B) it is one of the most frequently requested miniatures out there, and, C) as you mentioned, it fits design-wise with the Red evolutions set.

I also have most (not all, I have a few gaps) in my DDM prepaints, and in many cases multiples. Yet I still buy the Pathfinder battles minis (which given the quality are far from over priced, falling in line price wise with getting a similar number of UNPAINTED Reaper or Games Workshop minis, and without requiring me to assemble and paint them). You don't want to buy them that's your bag, but the Pathfinder battles line has only re-trod a small portion of the path laid by the DDM line (which itself did reprints of certain figures as well, Large Blue, Red, and Copper Dragons, Huge Red Dragons, Storm Giants, and Drow, endless freaking drow all come to mind), and is doing quite well apparently without your contribution.

Drow, lots of drow.....

Please, no. One or two to get the Pathfinder / Golarion feel would be cool, but I for one (and I know I am not alone on this) am Drow'd out. They have been over exposed ever since a certain novel series brought them into view. I realize that they have been around since 1st Ed AD&D and are a part of this wonderful hobby's past, but they seriously got over used during 2nd Ed and 3rd. / 3.5 Ed. D&D. I'm glad that they did get to make an appearance in Pathfinder, spotlighted as the Villains in the Second Darkness AP, but I am equally glad that they haven't come to dominate the setting as the Main Villains, as they have in certain other game worlds, to say nothing of them showing up as heroes at every organized play event.

When it comes to Drow (or any shadowy, secretive culture really [Aboleth, Duergar, Derro, or basically any elder evil hidden from the light of day, either underground or in deep space]), less really is more.

First off, your maths wrong. 3 is 60% of 5, meaning it's only a 40% increase, not a 66%. Also, 4 iconics for $13 is actually $3.25 apiece. Lets just use that figure so we don't have to debate whether or not a large should count as 2 mediums. $3.25 to $5 is only a 35% increase. A significant increase, but far from 66%.

Actually my maths are pretty solid. A medium figure costs $3, but for these you will have to pay $2 more. $2 in addition to $3 is a 66% increase.

But I am not here to argue about maths, I am just asking the increased price gives us better quality minis from Wizkids.

Ah yes, i see what your saying. Where are you getting medium iconics for $3 though?

Harsk $9
Seoni $11
Lirianne $10
Seltyiel $10

And so on and so on...

Now I understand that your basing your price off if these, but again, that would be $3.25 apiece, not $3, nor do they represent the entirety of the iconics.

I agree, the $3.25 price point was great. I really wish we could get them for hat price, but I suppose I'll still pay $5. More than that though and I'll probably he getting the blunt end from my fiance.

Ah but the problem is, that you can't get the Iconics (with the exception of Harsk) for that price, they are all unavailable on Paizo and they go for a hell of a lot more through another retailer, assuming you can find one that has them in stock.

Where are the Dwarves, and Gnomes; the two least represented races in the Pathfinder battles line

Non-human core races are being treated fairly equally in PFB, equally bad, but at least equally. (numbers include already previewed miniature sculpts for LC)

Dwarves: 3
Elves: 5 (6 if we count Ardathanatus)
Gnomes: 3
Halflings: 3
Half-elves: 4
Half-orcs: 4

For medium sized races there are another 6 or so sculpts with helmets or masks that have no discernible race.

Elves / Half-elves are fairly interchangeable for one another and they cross the gamut of class types (save for specialized classes like monk, Samurai, and Ninja) and with a fairly even gender split(perhaps a slight favoring of females to males).

Dwarves - have a generic, an Iconic, and a villain. (All male and all of a martial nature, not one that could pass for a rogue, priest or wizard)
Halflings - An Iconic and two pirates. (2 males, 1 female but all skill monkey's - 2 that are or could be bards)
Gnome - Generic fighter, Iconic, and one yet to be released. (2 male, 1 female
Half-Orc - Tsadok, Irabeth, and Imrijka, and the Half-Orc barbarian from H & M. (2 male and 2 [badly needed] females, but once again all martial character types).

I really like the Pathfinder battles line, but it is continuing to promote the massive race / class disparity that is found in PPM. It is remarkably easy to find an acceptable elf or half-elf miniature for either gender in virtually any class, a male dwarf of most classes, a halfling skill-based character of either gender, and only a smattering of Gnomes and Half-Orcs, predominantly male and primarily of martial types.

Took me almost a week to notice that the Ice Elemental is SMALL. This reminded me that we don't have small versions of the 4 classic elementals in Pathfinder Battles either, only medium and large. That definintely is something that needs to be fixed. Maybe another "workhorse" set like Heroes and Monsters is needed (only at the present 55 piece standard), nothing Golarion-specific, just a good solid range of commonly encountered beasties, townsfolk, mercenaries, and such. It could even be split say 60/40 between Asian and "Western" pieces, with #55 being a Gargantuan Imperial Dragon (Any would work, but my pref. would be for Forest).

Opinions?

I hate to say this but Korramzadeh's face is... ugly, with the upper eyes not aligned with the lower pair. It also doesn't have the unique appearance we have been seeing in the WotR AP. He looks like another standard fire demon with a silvery sword and armor.

Agreed on the Brimoraxen and Derakni, but I have to disagree strongly on Korramzadeh. They upper set of eyes being spaced the way they are actually makes sense, given that it widens his peripheral vision in a way that them being one above another wouldn't have. This is actually a consistent structure among those critters in the real world that have more than 2 eyes (mainly insects and arachnids). As for not matching up with the WotR art, well, your milage may vary, but aren't the minis generally based directly on a piece of art from the source material?

If the oversized larges really upset you that much, there are commercialy available bases for huge figures, just re base it.

What was asked for was a hybrid fighter caster. That is a broad brush class that kind of existed through Eldrich Knight, but kind of didn't because of how hard it was to get there.

The Magus fills a narrow niche of that request when if they hadn't added odd mechanics and had just made a hybrid it wouldn't be so narrow.

Same with the gunslinger.

I don't want new mechanics for the sake of new mechanics in the same way I don't want new classes for the sake of new classes.

I do want hybrid class options, as described. And my opinion if you make those hybrid classes I can do more things with them than I could with a narrow class built around a new mechanic that may or may not fit into the system without a crowbar.

See, I never really considered the magus having clunky mechanics. Nor the gunslinger. Certainly, the magus has more advanced mechanics than the gunslinger, but I never really found the magus that complicated to understand. Nor really niche (at least for the magus). It's a class that casts and fights, but also blends the two, which is what I really liked.

I just feel that I'd like something more than just two classes put in a blender. If all I was getting was a class that only had the mechanics from two classes, I could just do it myself. Why wait for the Slayer when I could just make my own with sneak attack and favored enemy? And blackjack and hookers!?! ;)

In fact forget the sneak attack and favored enemy!

There is a similar sized group who don't want Asian themed characters and yet we still have base classes of Monk, Ninja, and Samurai so why not a base class Musketeer with its own collection of archetypes like say Highwayman and such?

But isn't the whole point of the Builder Series to give DMs an economical way to gather up enough mini's to represent the "common and overused," in a way that even a common rarity mini in a standard set can't? I bought a case of H & M got 3 skeletons, 2 zombies, 2 red Gob warriors, 3 blue, 1 red gob hero, 2 blue, and 2 of each orc. Not enough to run an encounter with a typical "horde" creature. And, as singles climb in price from the sets, these builder sets will be a godsend for people who don't have a decade or more of ppms available to them.

I understand that you like the novel and the unique, but there is a very large population who still need the common and overused.

Female, Orcs, Ogres, and other horde monsters, almost all horde beasts are male. Some decent Male Drow (almost all Drow minis are female). I want to see equal gender representation among the monster races. That and a Mammy Graul mini would be schweet as well.

And what is with all the hating on Black-powder weapons in fantasy? Particularly Pirate-themed fantasy? Pistols are part of the genre, and I for one expect them when pirates are mentioned. Unless your talking Danish Pirates of the North Sea, but as I recall most people call them Vikings (which makes little sense, since 'viking' is a verb and not a noun, but oh well.)

Fact is that like it or not people guns are a part of the Pathfinder game, and they are an OFFICIAL part of the Golarion setting. They are also grossly under repressented in fantasy miniatures. Does the whole set have or need guns? No. But people are getting up in arms over 3, count 'em 3 minis that do.

Like I said, guns are a part of the pirate genre. Just as they are a part of the Aisan-action genre of fantasy, and I can only hope that when a Tian -themed set is done, that there is a Vanara Gunslinger and a peasant harquebusser of some description (and city police with a man-catcher polearm, but that's another argument).

The part I have trouble with is the supposed incopatability of Faith and Science. Both Darwins (Charles and his grandfather, Erasmus) were religious men. Isaac Newton, was as well. And I won't even get into Gregor Mendel. Why is willful ignorance in the face of supported facts now seen as a show of deep faith? And it is not just the Christians either, at one point in history the Moors were the leading engineers of the world, and now Islam is producing as many willfully ignorant extremists.

This is to my perception, the first part of a multi-part problem.

The second part is that people expect the school to be a daycare and have stripped parents of all ability to discipline their children to prevent the excesses of a small minority of abusive individuals. I was recently spoken to in a Wal*Mart, told that I was abusive of my eldest because I made him take a shop-lifted item back in and apologise at the service desk to the assistant manager on duty. I was told it was humiliating and degrading and that I had scarred him. What I had done was made him own up for a wrong behavior.

The last part of the problem in my view (and most people will find this odd, coming from someone of my age), is the end of America's Cold War with the Soviet Union. When we had an implied threat to our very way of life and freedom in the form of a propaganda demonized enemy, our innovative abilities and competitive natures soared to new heights. They did the same things we did, and there was a major push to encourage the best and brightest of their scientists to defect to the West. Since the thaw though, our space program has stagnated, our general research budget has been slashed to non-existence, and our educational system is dying a malingering death. Peace between empires breeds rot from within, and the US is now going to go the way of the HRE and Alexander's Persia.

Our leadership doesn't want intelligent and successful people, they are a threat to its power-base that simply cannot be allowed.

Sorry for the ranting thread-jack.

Sorry I don't see it. Doesn't look like a racial caricature to me in the slightest.
I imagine it won't if you're not familiar with the caricatures of the Yellow Peril era. Specifically: the long, clawlike nails, the hooked nose, exaggerated mustache, sneer with snaggly, fanglike teeth and narrow, slanted eyes are all typical elements of Fu Manchu-style demonization of Chinese and other Asians in the early part of the 20th century. Putting all those features together on an "oriental" race makes it extremely striking to someone who's familiar with this particular strain of racist propaganda.

I can see it, and I see your point. However, the first thing I saw was an Aisan outfit on Dudly Do-Right's enemy, Snidely Whiplash. That mustache is so 1800's villain. (And am I the only one who upon seeing the Wayang though, this guy's gotta sound like Vincent Price?)
