Assuming Maggie didn't see anything, Lanel calls her back and follows behind the others.

Lanel casts magic armor from his wand as soon as they arrive and follows the others. He sends his falcon Maggie to do a quick recon of the outside of the building.

"Major Maldris! Nice to meet you! I've heard so much about you." Lanel is surprised to have been recognized without a direct proper introduction.

After the explanation he smirks seeing where the conversation was going and nods to Piotr. "I would be happy to help. Always fun to see their faces when they realize they have been caught."

Lanel could take some time (take 10) to look around with Maggie on his shoulder to make sure they are not missing anything else.

"Sorry Piotr! Is it over? Did I burn it??" Lanel wanders around in the darkness until it clears out.

He looks at the beheaded creature. "Oh!... Okay, that works too!"

"It's around you, Piotr!?"

Lanel carefully moves around his furry comrade and unleashes a burning hands using an alchemist fire as reagent component.

"I really hope I don't hit anyone else!"

Burning Hands DC16: 5d4 + 5 ⇒ (3, 1, 2, 1, 3) + 5 = 15

Reagent: One target that fails its Reflex saving throw (your choice) catches on fire as if it has been struck by alchemist’s fire.

Lanel will ready to cast burning hands if they tell him the enemy is at range on his side of the formation.

Lanel grumbles under his breath being sightly insulted this entity didn't think he was pretty enough. He did bring his fancy clothing after all.

"I will abstain from making a cold pun, but I'm starting to understand why our guide closed the door behind us... should we proceed or bring the body out?"

Perception Lanel with familiar out: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22
Perception Maggie The Hawk: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (19) + 14 = 33

"... I'm getting flashbacks to my last mission... Is the broken mirror and the bleeding woman part of the, uh... art display?" Lanel stares at the body and then shakes his head. He takes out his familiar from one of his tattoos.

"Maggie, keep your eyes open."

He will also cast detect magic.

"It's been a while since I confronted undead, is that's what she actually is... My fire is at your service."

Lanel dries away a tear from his eye. He wishes he could capture this scene to remember it forever.

Lanel mingles with a confident charming smile having tge time to prepare. With a glass of wine in hand he talks about the terrible management from the noble.

"Well, I'm not sure I would even want to be seen around him. I heard his servants were complaining about missing payments. If he can't even get that handled properly, what could you expect with a responsibility like this? No, no, I'm afraid there's even worse being hidden, but you won't hear it from me. People who have their reputation like that in the line tend to react poorly."

Piotr's eyes go wide as the assassin suddenly drops dead.

"Nicely done. Thanks, Lanel."

Lanel scratches the back of his head sheepishly. "Wish I could help out with that more, but these guys looked tough. And stabby. A bit more dangerous than what I'm used too. Glad I could help!"

Lanel raises an eyebrow a bit unconvinced when Guaril explains his motives and plans. "I'm not in any position to offer suggestions, but that marriage feels a step away from an ugly case of domestic violence..."

Lanel is suddenly too caught up by the battle. "Oh boy..." he ducks out of the way and feels in mortal peril more than once, but then he sees Piotr engaging with the last assassin and tries to help by casting a sure way to make damage.

Magic Missile: 2d4 + 3 ⇒ (1, 1) + 3 = 5

Lanel starts making his way to Guaril, and shoots at the caster with his crossbow.

Light Crossbow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
piercing dmg: 1d8 ⇒ 6

Lanel casts mage armor on himself and tries to stay out of the Frontline for the moment.

Lanel is going to try his best with his delicate arms.

Lanel looks longingly for dry land as their mission continues...

"Fine...fine..."

Lanel is just a bit short on money so he will just get his equipment ready with a tired sigh...

"I hate boats..."

He gets his flippers, flotation devices, snorkel, etc. The fashionable trait is likely negated at this moment.

Lanel sighs. "It wouldn't be the first time someone has tried to supplant a faction member to blame them of a crime... Let's find him, but we should act carefully. Mmmh... what kind of clue could be hidden in the note?"

I'm good!

"Love it! I can make some outlandish claims. But Hellebore is right. We should make it plausible enough...mmmhhh"

"Truly amazing. This is will be talked about for ages, I can bet on it!"

Lanel provides a number of prompts to spark her creativity.

"Great! Let's go. Better silence the area before we try to open or move the crate." Lanel whispers as he follows a bit behind. He's not great with stealth and rather plays safe.

Lanel steps inside but stays by the door to wait for everyone to come in.

Lanel will cast mage armor as well with his wand and takes out maggie on his shoulder (his familiar) to serve as a sentry. He follows the other two to the door, but will wait on Piotr before entering.

Perception Lanel: 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 6 + 2 + 3 = 20
Perception Maggie: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (1) + 16 = 17

Lanel chuckles tiredly hearing about all that the noble has been hiding. "Of course... I'm not surprised."

Diplomacy Gather information about the Warehouse: 1d20 + 9 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 9 + 3 = 28

After some asking around and charming smiles, Lanel comes back with information that he shares to all his comrades about the warehouse. "Lord Min-min seems to have brought some of his personal guards at the site... but they are to be replaced soon. Also, I heard the workers on the warehouse are complaining about late payment... We could use that to our advantage."

Lanel is strangely quiet during the meeting. He gulps and loosens his collar a bit. "Yes... of course. We gotta make sure we don't get caught. Lead the way."

"Well, of course! "I would say I have a varied experience with the missions we have gotten. Anything from investigating the supernatural and facing the Aspis Consortium, to exploring a forgotten dungeon with strange technology... and even facing a dragon! (although to be fair, it was a small dragon, but nonetheless!)"

Lanel will tell the experiences from Reaping what we sow, Grotto of the Deluged God, Trial by Machine and the Consortium Compact. Does he need to roll anything?

Lanel's right eye twitches. His last mission in Taldor was... something he would rather forget. Some beheadings involved. But nonetheless, he keeps his smile and he lets Piotr take the lead as a noble of that country.

Lanel will get a few things and get ready to have a great time, surely his life won't be at stake at any point!

"Indeed, I'm sure you have far greater experience to identify who might be trouble for us, so please let me know to stay clear of them."

I'm gonna get that +1 on all saving throws. He currently has AC15 and can boost it to 18. He's going to make a point of avoiding direct confrontation so spell effects might be more of a problem for him.

Lanel is a young human man, not even in his twenties and perhaps a bit overconfident. His golden hair almost shines with each movement as he bows with a big smile in greeting to everyone. He is wearing a fashionable courtier's outfit with gem encrusted cuffs and belt, along with a dashing reversible cloak and an adventurer's sash across his chest that holds a number of vials and flasks. A cracked pink and green sphere ioun stone floats around his head.

"Piotr! What a nice surprise! Look at you! You have been pretty busy, I see! I still got that little memento from that day," he shows a small leshy token amulet on his neck.

He seems in high spirits after hearing about the mission. "That's great! I love socializing, so this should be fun!"

No dayjob for Lanel. I was planning to get a caravan but 5pp seems a bit expensive, particularly when he has already gotten a few things. I guess by the time I can safely get it, money won't be an issue.

Lanel is more than happy to reach back and provide whatever information might help Meleren if he wants to work with the Society.

Same with Lanel. The others are dead already. Might be better to give them some more 'stable' direction.

"Yeah, after we report in, I think I should be to have a chance to come help out with that... I'm not strong enough to carry someone on my own, but that's why we work together."

Lanel chuckles and thanks him for giving the amulet back.

"I mean, you did manage to get the amulet meant for Pathfinders. You have what they look for. There are factions that want to make a difference in the life of people who would at least give you a chance... I think."

If TBR shares what he hears, Lanel muses in low voice. "Mmmh. I don't think she's too happy. Alright... let's see if we can try to turn her around."

He approaches Shechera, looking at her downed comrade.

"Making mistakes is pretty common when fear and stress are involved..." he sighs. "And not only when you have a murder bot going after you in some dark dungeon. Some decisions made out of frustration can have big consequences. Sometimes is just a matter of not making things worse... you know what I mean? I guess you guys were lucky enough that we came to train today instead of a few days away..."

"As far as I'm aware they can have... uhm, some kind of surge of energy? power? Have you ever suddenly felt better at something if you focus a lot of on it? Also, you might be able to see much better in the dark than regulars humans. That's a great thing to have. I wish I knew more about it, but other than that... I guess you have a clearer starting point to investigate more."
