Each one of these choices is very important, modifying your starting ability scores, giving you starting proficiencies and class skills, and opening up entire feat chains tailored to your character.

This has me the most worried. Why are feat chain locked off because certain background was selected? Why can my character grow naturally and pick feats that make sense.

Lets say Power Attack is locked away for nomad background, why can't soldier learn to power attack? Why can my arcane warrior/gish learn power attack? Especially this is a background thing.

Thankfully my journey on the road from the city to Sandpoint is over, and it’s kind of nice to be away from that stuffy city. When the caravan arrived in the early morning hours I noticed that the town was preparing for a festival and I promptly paid for rest of my fare and dropped off my stuff at parent’s home in town not even taking the time to take off my armor. Exploring the town once more seem to bring back some of my childhood memories aside for everything looking a bit smaller than I remembered.

Regardless the first interesting thing was that noticed in the festive was an obnoxious dwarf… and that was bit of an understatement. While I didn’t get the beginning of what set off the dwarf, but she had started to throw racist slurs like knife ears towards an elf and there was a bit of scuffle. I went over to break up the scuffle, and managed to convince the watch that was responding to leave it be. That’s when I noticed Dwarf had started to take a liking to a giant of man, although a bit naïve.

The festival included other games such as an archery contest, wood cutting contest and arm wrestling competition. In the archery contest I noticed a woodman getting quite upset as she non-verbally expressed it; such as gritting her teeth as she competed again and again until she won. The big guy seemed to handily outright dominate the wood cutting contest… with a sledge hammer as he plows through the wood piles. Later on, the day the dwarf from earlier managed tried her hand in arm wrestling competition, after calling the Orc (although I believe he was more of Half Orc), a green skin. Very quickly the dwarf called out for cheating after presumably loosing and it escalated pretty quickly. Soon afterwards the dwarf was literally shoved into the table, and was now stuck in it. Her new buddy was now trying to get her free, and that’s where I opted to ignore that scene and went off to see if I could start a dance competition.

As the various musicians and bands played I started to challenge various people to dance competition. This is where perhaps I did my best dancing ever which left me kind of embarrassed, as several of the audience left coinage, giving me what counted up to around 13 gold. Regardless as Father Zantus tried to get the town’s attention he did the most annoying way possible by cracking a thunder stone and unfortunately, I was a bit too close to the stage as the stone assaulted my ears. While thankfully I wasn’t deafened but what happen next wasn’t as nice.

It seemed goblins had entered into the city using the noises of the festival as cover, and what gave them away was the fact one of them was too anxious and killed a dog. Right away more and more goblins started to reveal themselves which sent the town into a panic. I quickly drew my blade and got engaged with group of goblins showing themselves. But this proved to bit unproductive as I mostly ended up as a distraction for others; mostly to the big guy and some weird guy flinging copper coins and stuff.

Very quickly more goblins started to show themselves as they set fire to couple of carts, and these goblins were little bit more effective. They manage to strike past my defensives, even these goblins managed to nearly bring down the dwarf, then again, she obviously drunk and or confused as she believed these goblins were weird green halflings. Unique among this group when compared to the first group as this one contained a spell sword, who tried to cast a spell on me. I perhaps a little bit of my temper as I yelled out “I fracking dare you to try that again you green s…”. While I completely missed, I provided enough distraction for that coin guy to down the Goblin spell sword. Next the dwarf managed to capture one of the goblins. The dwarf and her friend went to put out the fire with shoveling dirt and conjuring water, while I went through the goblins to see if there any clues.

We went over to Father Zantus with the captured goblin for both healing and try to get answer from the Goblin. Such as trying to get us to say where rest of comrades and how many of them there are. Unfortunately, the goblin didn’t seem to have the answer, so instead father Zantus spared some of his healing. Just in time too as someone else called out for help, fearing the worst I quickly dashed over towards where I heard the scream as the dwarf ordered the big guy to carry the tied-up Goblin with him.

When we arrived, it seemed the goblin leader of the raid and his body guard managed to surround a dog and his owner. The Goblins seemed to be celebrating the death the dog and thus we managed to get the drop on them, well that is until the big guy threw the captured goblin at the goblin leader. A brawl quickly started, and I positioned myself between the Goblins and the guy in order to protect his life. This time I managed to dispatch a goblin, but the fight was quickly over, and in the end, we managed to capture the goblin leader, and the guy we saved turned out to be some guy named Aldren Foxglove who invited us for free drinks at the rusty dragon.

I then went around to secure the arms from the fallen goblins, as rest of the group went to jail the goblin leader, and from what I hear the dwarf asked for a claims ticket on the goblin leader. Hopefully this end of the goblin threat, and this attack broke the back the goblin menace in the area.

Appreciate in the input, going to stick with Mr. Handy. If we wipe we wipe. :)

And to clarify above: cleric is forgemaster archetype. Restricted to 1 domain (instead of 2) artifice domain only, loses channeling ability. He's going self-buff build.

And the dervish is also self-buffing bard whirling dervish.

Should be interesting.

Sounds like the party has too many self serving loners.

You mention "Human Dervish" -- which class? Multiple classes have a "* Dervish" archetype. This includes 2 in Bard, but I assume from your mention of lack of arcane casting that this isn't either of the Bard Dervish archetypes.

Actually I'm playing the Dervish in the campaign, and she is Dervish Dancer (not the Dawnflower) archetype for Bard.
Care to elaborate a bit more?

Background:
Lanaya was born into one noble family of Varisia with many connections to merchants and other noble families throughout Golarion. And as a member of the nobility was afforded several privileges that other citizens of Varisia are not afforded; such as private tutors and luxuries. However, at the same time due to her status Lanaya is restricted on many opportunities as she forced to keep a public image. Many of games or interest were quickly discourage or outright banned as not being fit for someone of Lanaya’s station.

Since Lanaya was direct heir for inheritance it was expected Lanaya would serve in Magnimar’s military city state as an Officer, like many other non-direct heir nobles. And thus, Lanaya quickly received military training from at first her tutors, but these lessons bored Lanaya nearly to ends. Lanaya would often attempt sneak out attend many of the plays, and theaters of Magnimar, and even attending the various Varisian caravan shows that would pass by. Thus, as Lanaya grew closer of age she wasn’t the best candidate into military school as she lacked much martial prowess or the magical abilities of battle mages, Lanaya’s officer candidacy was initially rejected. But through commission purchase Lanaya officially became Cornet of Magnimar.

Due to Lanaya’s low officer candidacy score Lanaya was placed as logistic officer position as a minor post almost as if to hide her away. With no wars in sight or pressing logistic needs, aside for occasional armory inspection or war planning sections, Lanaya had many idle time. This idle time and lack of interested of her position annoyed Lanaya nearly to end as she struggled to entertain herself throughout the day. Thus, Lanaya hired private tutor learn several bardic lessons, learning how to act and dance, in which she discovered she was a prodigy in the later.

However early into Lanaya’s bardic lessons she opted to take a visit of Sandpoint towards to enjoy the small-town atmosphere. With an approved leave on her hand, Lanaya quickly set off the Sandpoint for few days of relaxation away from the hustle and bustle Magnimar.
