Taking 20 on Perception as well.
Hey everyone, sorry I've been silent lately, times have been weird but I'm still around! Unfortunately I was just offered a last minute job out in the middle of nowhere for the next 4-5 days, so I expect to be gone until Thursday this week...
"I'll stay behind as well, a knife in the shadows can be very useful from time to time."
Kirk shrugs and fills his waterskin, then looks around for any other containers they might use to transport the water.
"Call it camouflage, or a solemn reminder of threats that the healing water was meant to thwart." Kirk adds, as if on an afterthought, "I'm afraid I understand very little on the mental workings of faithful men."
"What evil -- magic or supernatural -- has tainted the fountain and it's waters?" Kirk volunteers.
"And what purpose was that? Was this a watering fountain -- shall we drink and see what happens?" Kirk sneers almost facetiously. To try and answer his own question, though, he removes a glove and sticks two worn fingers into the messy waters.
"I'm sure it was the right move, that hesitation was futile." Kirk cleans and sheathes his weapons, then more or less forgets about the fountain. He begins to pick through the demon's remains for valuables before moving on and scouring the entire area.
Going out of town on another work camping trip this Monday through Friday, could somebody please sub in to keep Kirk from dragging the game down? :P

Finally positioned into the flank, Kirk -- feeling inspired by Solaric's success -- unleashes furious steel against the demon Abbot.

If that Acrobatics roll is high enough, Kirk could go around the demon to the south and jump that little five foot gap of lava to land on its other side and flank in H13.
Kirk dances alongside the demon and the awakening zombies, moving himself into a flank with Solaric and Flofer. Acrobatics 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (19) + 20 = 39 [ooc]to G13.

Round 1
Kirk charges in alongside Solaric G10 and slashes at the demon with his dagger, preparing to jump to the other side and flank the next moment.

If he thinks there is a chance still, Kirk would try and hide in the shadows and begin preparing his Death Attack ability. Otherwise, and I'm guessing this demon probably watched the crew of us slaughtering zombies, we'll just assume the following... :P
"Ugly, horned, and doomed to die. That's a good enough name for me." Kirk lowers his shield and circles around the room, positioning himself to move into an easy flank.
Cursing under his breath just a little bit, Kirk steps up to the one of the zombies and slips his dagger delicately through one zombie's fleshy neck, piercing it's throat, and then he skillfully rips the blade free.
Coup de Grac, Critical 2d4 + 8 + 4d6 ⇒ (3, 1) + 8 + (1, 1, 6, 1) = 21 +1 bleed damage
So now that potion of hiding from Undead has worn off, right? I wasn't exactly quite sure what to do here, like if I should've waited to use Death Attack on a more prime target, but I figure killing one of the zombies couldn't really hurt our efforts, so meh!
A heads up: I will be on a work camping trip from Monday through Friday, possibly Saturday. I might get internet from time to time, but I'm not counting on it.
Vicky or Solaric or anyone, really, could sub my character whenever necessary, thanks!

Kirk dives to the side as the red hot goo floods toward them, turning to reach out for Solaric's arm, but too late.
Well I don't know. It's pretty circumstantial, but if the thing doesn't immediately start attacking and taking out the party, it might work. The potion will last 10 minutes at least.
Kirk was planning on attempting a Death Attack on whatever comes out of the cauldron. I know the ability is kind of a bad joke, but a failed save is still an instant kill... :P

When the smoke clears and Kirk can take a breath again, he says to the group, "There wasn't any sort of mechanical trap that set poison that off; I think it was divine magic."

Kirk takes a deep breath and squints through the poison cloud, calmly waiting for the air to clear once again.
"I guess that wasn't it, then?"
"Time is what never stops moving. He holds in his hand time: a clock, an hourglass?" Kirk inspects the door closely as they stand before it.

Kirk keeps silent during the inter-party exchange. Victoria's familiar is none of his business, and he clearly isn't bothered by the succubi's appearance if it means they are gaining power.
"Halt," Kirk says, "This floor tile is trapped."
He stoops down and inspects the tile, then pulls out his set of thieve's tools and goes to work trying to disarm the thing.

Kirk inspects his blade and shield carefully during the down time, taking a moment to lean heavily against the stone wall, winded slightly by the weight of his armor during battle. "Those things were pesky," he says during a moment of silence.

Shifty I'd be curious in joining a PFS PBP if you'd have me, but I wouldn't be able to actually commit to it until mid-May because that's when I've booked my ticket home. I've also never played PFS but am of course intrigued, so there's that minor speedbump as well...
Oh yeah, and I guess on a more general note: my great world-traversing journey comes to an end on May 12th when I fly back to San Francisco. Granted, San Fran is still a good 800 miles or like 1300 km from "home," but being back in the States will feel like homecoming enough I think (not having to worry about visas every month or two, etc.) And wifi will be basically impossible to not find.

At Victoria's question, he says, "No I don't feel it quite yet, Victoria, but maybe this rubble is a sign of a firey future for us all." Kirk will continue up the stairwell, maintaining his stealth and watchful eye.
Kirk pads forward softly, his shield and dagger held at the ready, bestially-Orcish eyes seeing through the darkness. He does his best to ignore the chanting voices.
