![]() Excited at the prospect of the games of chance before them and playing in such a fine establishment, Radek and Kara take the offered seats at the table. Pjiana remains standing for the moment as she wants to continue to observe. Avery also keeps an eye out on the games for the moment. With two new players the other gentlemen smile a greeting and the dealer nods to everyone that they are ready. Two men put down a stack of wooden chips in front of Kara and Radek. The chips have a very small ruby embedded on one side and on the other a number stamped. The dealer explains that the numbers represent how many gold pieces each chip represents. The chips are stamped with either a 5 or 10. The friends have a stack of 15 chips stamped with a 10 and 20 stamped with a 5. The other three players all appear to be locals and all are richly attired. They also all appear to be somewhere between their middle thirties to late forties in age. They appear more like businessmen than anything else. They are all friendly but are quiet for the moment. They introduce themselves as Theo, Deangelo, and Harrison. The companions look on as the dealer expertly and quickly shuffles the cards and then deals out two cards to each of the players. Theo, Deangelo, and Harrison toss a 5 gp chip into the center of the table. The dealer waits for Radek and Kara to toss in their ante as well. Post your action and then go ahead and make a Knowledge roll behind a spoiler tag. We'll need to be honest and not look at each other's rolls. I'll keep up with the rolls for the other guys. Let's see how this goes!

![]() Was curious if anyone has worked out some distances between cities/areas or if you had any thoughts on the matter. Specifically, what would you say would be the distances between these points: Restov to Kridorthrost in Iobaria.
Anyone know what the scale is for the Iobaria map that is in Varnhold Vanishing? I appreciate anyone's thoughts/suggestions on this. ![]()
![]() What is it about nobles and other ‘important’ people that makes them think they can always keep others waiting on them? Six strangers sit in a large room within the expansive residence of the Lord Mayor of Restov, contemplating that very thought. Everyone gathered was invited to Restov to be part of an expedition to explore the Stolen Lands, a rough and lawless land to the south of Brevoy that insulates the nation from the River Kingdoms and Galt.
Finally the door in the northern wall, opposite the one the strangers entered through, opens and two men enter. The first man is easily identified as Lord Mayor Ioseph Sellenius. Standing over six feet tall, Sellenius is still lean and fit even in his early 50’s. An accomplished swordsman on his own he moves with fluidity and grace to stand at the head of the table. The Lord Mayor has dark black hair and a pointed beard. There are streaks of grey in both beard and in his hair. High cheekbones and a strong nose are set under calculating eyes that can warm in an instant. The man that enters with the Lord Mayor is none other than Ser Richard Iannuchi, the current Lord Commander of the Swordlord Council. Although he enters after the Lord Mayor, it is clear that Ser Richard takes second to no man. In his mid-50’s with a regal bearing and strong build, it is said that he is the second best swordsman among the Swordlords. His skill with a blade can only be matched by his abilities in leadership, politics, and tactical planning. He stands at the side of Sellenius and looks over the assembled guests. His face shows no emotion but it is clear that his eyes weigh each and every participant where they sit. “My apologies for the wait,” begins Ioseph Sellenius, though there appears no such remorse in his voice. “We had to see of a trade delegation from Galt. They never know how long they’ll be in their position so they try and milk it for all they can.”
As he speaks, Ioseph Sellenius unrolls a parchment that contains the signed charter from King-Regent Surtova. A man enters from the door where adventurers entered and sets a quill and ink on the table. “Each of you that place your mark on this charter accept the terms and will be agents of the Crown. But before you do, you must know that the task before you is one of grave danger. The Stolen Lands are uncharted and uncivilized for a reason. In addition to bandits there are deadly beasts too numerous to name that must be overcome.” The Lord Mayor of Restov pauses and looks at all assembled. “Do you have any questions?” Welcome to the game! And here we go... ![]()
![]() Here we will discuss anything outside of the game that is too long for short OOC comments in the game play thread. Please use this to get to know one another as well as interacting together outside of our characters. Any questions/comments/criticisms/suggestions about the game feel free to post here as well. Or PM me. ![]()
![]() Story:
It's been nearly ten years since The Vanishing, when in the course of one night everyone of Rogarvian blood disappeared. Brevoy could have tumbled into civil war and chaos except for the quick movement and strong leadership of House Surtova. By the end of 4699 AR Noleski Surtova had claimed the Dragonscale Throne in New Stetven as Regent upon the return of House Rogarvia. In that time, King-Regent Noleski Surtova has held the Ruby Fortress and the Dragonscale Throne but with each passing year and no sign of the return of House Rogarvia the rumors grow that soon Noleski will drop the Regent and claim the throne for House Surtova. Brevoy has grown increasingly fractious over this possibility with lines being drawn across old divisions among the long-ago houses of the nations of Issia and Rostland. The young nation, forged through war 200 years ago, stands on the brink of civil war. Many are moving both within the nation and without to take advantage of the chaos that may be caused by war.
In order to minimize the threat from their south, the Swordlords of Restov, in conjunction with the Lord Mayor of Restov, have commissioned adventurers to travel south of Restov into the Stolen Lands to explore and possibly settle this area. The Swordlords hope that the newly settled area would provide a buffer against invasion from the south and west, either from Pitax, Mivon, Galt, or any other entity/nation seeking to expand into Brevoy. This recruitment will be for 4-6 players to tackle the Kingmaker AP, beginning in the year 4708 AR. The campaign will differ at times from printed material and much about Brevoy will be different so don't count on things being the same as the source material. Sometimes I will use names of people but their personalities/abilities/goals, etc. will be far different from what is printed in canon. So, don't count on that. For now, in terms of background, all printed locations are good. Character Creation:
Races: Human, Elf, Half-Elf, Halfling, Dwarf. I like standard races, please don't ask to play a Tiefling. Alignment: No Evil please. Level and other items: 1st Level, max gold for class, max HP for 1st level. 30 Point Buy - yes, you are supposed to be heroes. Classes: Core only - no gunslingers, ninjas, samurai's or their derivatives. There is no tech in my Golarion. Any archetypes will need to be approved beforehand. Traits: Pick two, one from the Kingmaker Character Trait list and the other from any core source. Again, looking for 4-6 characters that will mesh well and make for a good party. Posting Status and other Items:
I'm looking for players that can commit to posting once a day during the week. I am very limited on the weekends and rarely post but want to be active during the week (M-F). Please don't submit a character if you can't commit to that. I typically will post in the morning and then be active throughout the day to respond to anything. I want players who can post frequently and keep the game moving.
Background: This will be one of the most important elements for selection, other than party cohesion. I like to use elements from my player's backgrounds to enhance the story. So the more you give me to work with the better chance you have of getting selected. That doesn't necessarily mean quantity though. Don't just try to supply me with a random list of names in your character's past. A few individuals/places/events, etc. in your character's past that are very interesting or intriguing might just do the trick. If you need any help with place names/locations just let me know and I'll help you. Ok, I think that's it for now. I'll be taking apps through March 11th and then I'll make selections and we'll start the game soon thereafter. Please review my Profile for other advice/information on what I expect and other info. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask here or message me. ![]()
![]() Pardon the newbie question but how does one go about getting the stat block to display under their name/Alias? I have created a profile but it doesn't automatically display. Any help on how to do this would be greatly appreciated, even if it is to direct me to another thread where this is explained. Thank you very much! ![]()
![]() Welcome to the new board. Here we will discuss any OOC items we can't handle in the gameplay thread or that we don't want to. Very eager to get going again! Check out this post for any help on using this board. ![]()
![]() Is there a way to run multiple threads in your Gameplay? How does one do this when a party splits up? I would think it would be really difficult/confusing if that has to be kept in one thread. Trying to decide if I want to use this board for running an online campaign and looking to figure out the ease of use and any issues. Thanks. ![]()
![]() Not sure if this should be here or in the Rules section, so please feel free to move if needed. I have a PC that was attacked by a Worg and has been gravely wounded. One of the other PC's came along and shot at arrow at the worg just as it dropped the first PC to -4 HP. The worg was then deeply wounded (from previous wounds and that arrow) and decided to run away into the night. Second PC has decided not to stabilize the first PC but instead chase after the worg (it matches his character actually very well). He is going to follow the worg through the night until he finds and kills it and then will go back to check on the other PC (who will probably be dead by then). So, my question is how should I do that track and chase? The PC is a human slayer. He has already made his first survival check to find the trail but he is on foot and can't move at the speed of the worg. Questions:
Environment:
Suggestions are welcome. Thanks! ![]()
![]() Ok, I am trying to put together something for an NPC in which they would be able to enter through a door and come out in a warehouse of their's several hundred miles away. What magic would do that? Greater Teleport? How would I make it permanent? Any lesser magic that would achieve this goal? I appreciate the help. ![]()
![]() Greetings! I am looking at expanding my Kingmaker campaign to include more action in Brevoy and utilizing some of the political tension there as my PCs advance in levels. I am currently looking at some of the background for that and was wondering if someone has already created a list of the Rogarvian kings back to Choral the Conqueror? A brief synopsis of each would be nice as well. So, anyone see or have anything like that? Also, if this is in some source book that I'm just missing I would appreciate being directed to that. Thanks! |
