Hello everyone. I'm slowly getting back at it. I see that you're looking for a new player, and by all means you have my blessing. I'm perfectly happy stepping away from this game, not because of my liking of it, but because you guys deserve a consistent player that you can rely on. I have no confidence in becoming that player again. I would like to, but I continue to fail. So I wish you all the best, and I have no hard feelings.

I'm "well" in the sense that I do feel happy, joyful, complete. I have a lot of good stuff going on in my life. I'm battling horrendous attention problems, where I'm just incredibly easily distracted, and a lot of stuff falls to the wayside as I get absorbed into researching Red Pandas because I'm not sure why. But truly, though that's frustrating, I am a happy person :)

Kilarra watches the ritual with a certain disgust and unease, especially since everyone just falls asleep at the staircase. First thing she does is makes sure all doors are locked, then she casts two spells on herself.
Protection from evil (lasts 2 mins), and Corruption Resistance (good) (from racial trait, lasts 1 hour)

Finally, Kilarra grinds her teeth together and exhales with frustration. "I gotta bad feeling bout this." She says, before making a big leap onto the staircase.

I'm not scholarly in those areas, so I'm out. I've got a little bit of dungeoneering and religion.

"Mmmmm Wyverns fly, and I'm not cut out for archery. Tell me bout the six-legged things. If they're a threat, we can hunt em. Otherwise just show me the ropes. I don't mind learning to sail."

Well done Piotr. I've plateaued in weight.

Kilarra responds to the patron who told her to look after Piotr's behaviour. "Oh it ain't gonna be me. His sister'll keep him in line right quick. But Winter's got some spine, so don't think she'll be some pushover if Piotr's an ass."

The next time she gets to see Piotr, she nods upwards at him and gives him a clap on the back. "They said whatever you do to her, they'll do to you. The bad stuff, I mean."

Kilarra whistles with awe after hearing the Halfling's insults. She doesn't try to be intimidating, but rather spits out a loogie while the rest are talking. Her ethnicity and giant sword are more than enough to spook if need be.

When introductions are being done, Kilarra says to the captain "How long's the trip? I can't just lay in a bed for days. Got anything that needs doing?"

Kilarra is literate, and somewhat intelligent, but reading isn't exactly her favourite pastime.

We do all live in places where the culture is different, so the concept of being a good wife/husband differs greatly. At the moment, I don't need to deal with in-laws, but I can't say I'd like to. Her father could separate my skull from my spine with no effort, and doesn't like soft city folk like me.

Good luck on the new job. What kind of thing are you doing this time around? Last one was selling barges, correct?

I should actually talk with my partner about what our preferred vacations would be, and see if there's some middle ground. That's a good thought.

For my family, all our holidays look roughly the same. The only thing that changes is the style of food. I don't have in-laws at the moment, so I don't know what that will be like. I'm on good terms with my own immediate family, so we just talk and eat. But I always feel like there's something hollow. We don't celebrate whatever the holiday is dedicated to. There's no spirituality or tradition or anything like that. We just eat

Kilarra bursts through the door* "Did you know Piotr and Winter are shacking up?!"

*The door, the door that is most appropriate given the situation

I celebrate the lunar new year, but it's super white folk. We just eat a big feast of Chinese food.

Kilarra takes a moment to calm down, letting the rest of the group get a bit done first. The only thing she does is activate another pearl to get a Bless Weapon spell again.

At the door that smells plant-y, Kilarra takes a good sniff and says "Probably something bad is growing. Hey, someone lend me a magic weapon for the next fight, will ya? Imma make it burn."

Unfazed by the magical fear, Kilarra notices the monster lapping up her blood. "It's the last thing you'll get to drink, fatty."

Kilarra draws her silver dagger and enters a great rage, making a single tear through its flesh.

Escape Artist to escape a grapple is a standard action. There isn't anything you can do with escape artist as a move action.

Kilarra uses her flanking advantage to really lay into her strikes.

Power attack with bless weapon and flanking
Bless weapon auto-confirms crit threats

Greatsword: 1d20 + 4 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 4 + 1 + 2 = 17
Dmg: 2d6 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (4, 5) + 12 + 1 = 22

Kilarra hesitates for just a moment as this monster comes into view, then grits her teeth. Keeping her greatsword in a defensive guard, Kilarra shuffles past Winter and towards the monster, tucking in to flank with Rose, and get out of Garrosh's line of fire.

I'm using Total Defense before my move action, so my AC is 24 for those AoOs. I get +6AC from Total Defense because I have 3 ranks in Acrobatics.

"Alright. Let's do this." Kilarra says confidently. She walks over to the door, and when everyone is in position, opens it.

"Well you couldn't sell it for anything, so go ahead." Kilarra laughs. Turning around to look in Rose and Violet's direction, she calls "We got the go ahead? Spy any traps?"

"Sleeping drugs for the dream adventure, I think." Kilarra says as she helps go over the notes. "Still no mention of Ann."

With regard to the loot, Kilarra asks "Piotr, d'you want the shortbow? No one uses slings on the battlefield anymore."

Kilarra watches Rose's reaction to the slit throat. "There's no such thing as a clean death, but this is one of the better ones." She motions with her head sideways to Nimera's body.
Kilarra shows no signs of revulsion.

Once the loot is recovered, Kilarra says "We got some more doors to knock down, yeah?"

Kilarra casts Bless Weapon on her sword, then leads the group up up up

"Okay." Kilarra says after getting her wounds healed. After the short rest for reading all the notes, Kilarra opens the two doors in the large room. The Eastmost one first, then the other one afterwards.

I'll also use a pearl of power to regain a Bless Weapon spell

"If you want. I'm getting low on magic." Kilarra responds

"More questions than answers. We were in his dreams? The Hell does that mean?" Kilarra says, still recovering from her unleashed powers.

Kilarra converts two of her LoH into a smite. This is a feature from her Tortured Crusader archetype.

Kilarra shakes the magic dust from her eyes, then decides to end this fight with all her power. She bellows out, then smites the monster with divine wrath.

Kilarra listens to the message and steps forward. With advice on which area to focus her attacks, Kilarra attacks cautiously.

Ann's dark eyes narrow dangerously at the tiefling "I do Not turn into GOOP, I'd like you to know. Or even something approximating GOOP. I... don't know what it is exactly, but what I DO know is It. Is. Not. GOOP."

"It's goop."

"You need something that cuts and is silver. I got a dagger for that if someone needs it." Kilarra says

"Oh! Okay. You're sort of like Ann, then. Cuz Ann got turned into what she is now, and she can sometimes turn into goop. Maybe you two had a similar event happen? If we had our memories, we'd be able to figure it out better. What are you a sage about, by the way?"

Kilarra follows after Piotr. When passing Rose and Violet, she says "Kilarra. I've heard that wizards have familiars. Are you a familiar, and she (Kilarra points to Rose, on the ceiling) is a witch? Of some kind?"

"Piotr is sick." Ann points out. The loud retching that carries down the stairs might also alert Winter of that fact.

"Better out than in." Kilarra responds

"I'm on fire." Kilarra responds, though there's no concern in her voice.

"One wizard, comin' up!" Kilarra yells as she takes out an Alchemist's Fire. Since Kilarra is a Tiefling, she doesn't mind throwing it right in front of herself.

"Close your eyes." Kilarra says to Rose

Kilarra looks down the hatch and says "Oh, that's different. Okay. Wanna go down there first, or head up and free the ghost?"

We have to go upstairs first

"Right. That's a weird thing to say. Well I'm good with sending you off to the afterlife. How bout you guys?"

After Kilarra asks that question, she heals herself up by imbuing her wounds with an oath of vengeance.

Kilarra isn't particularly interested in introducing herself to a ghost, except for Ann.

"Okay. Objectives." Kilarra starts. "So, will opening this door to your room help you find peace? Where is it?"
"And Piotr, see if you can unlock that trapdoor under the rug that Garrosh found. I bet it leads down to where we got those healing potions."

"It's just a flesh wound." Kilarra replies

"It's written in the tongue of necromancers." Kilarra says, as the letter is read out. "So did Lowls go to this city? I don't even know where Qadiran is."

Kilarra doesn't answer questions while fighting. Taking the hint that maybe she's in the way, Kilarra hops onto the table with her cloven hooves. Then she drives the point of her sword into the monster's chest.
I don't know how you'd like to rule that. I could make an acro check, or maybe it's a move into difficult terrain?

"Works for me. Where d'you live?" Kilarra asks as she leads Delia and the group out of the complex.

"This... looks like a library. Not a cell." Kilarra remarks

"Looks like I was right." Kilarra says. She opens the door

"Maybe its a captive, and this creature was guarding her escape?" Kilarra guesses. With little to really go on, she approaches the door, and gives it a good knock with her gauntlet. Somewhat awkwardly, Kilarra says "Uhhh Hello?"

It may not happen. If I have the ability to post in discussion, I can probably post in gameplay.

I forgot to mention that I get a +1 vs abilities of aberrations, if that helps. It's from the campaign trait Foe of the Strange.

Kilarra grimaces under the pain of its gaze, but powers through regardless. She takes a step further in, then cuts twice with her greatsword.
