Surprised by the explosion, Kent backs away, draws his bow, and fires a single shot.

Recalling the unusual things that the party has found, Kent starts to mingle.

Moving over to Madame Adenalar, and notes:

"Excuse me, dear lady, but I understand that you have a fascination with rare and exotic flowers? We happened to come across this," he says, holding out the packet of lily seeds that the party found earlier, "which I think you might be interested in. It was just as well we happened upon them when we did - else they would have gone up in smoke, which would have been a tragedy. Perhaps such a joyous recovery might be reason enough for you to withdraw from the auction, so you can go and plant them... or to at least not bid against us, if we promise not to bid on the trellis?"

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23.

He then moves on to Abeesa Borkalik, and bows respectfully.

"We found this in a burning building - I think you will be *very* interested in what this document has to say..."

So saying, he proffers the will.

"I think you have more important things to deal with than this auction, yes?"

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28.

He then moves on to Famish.

"I have some plans here that I think you will find quite interesting - perhaps interesting enough to back out of the auction, so you can investigate them immediately...?"

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25.

Lastly, he goes to Pateba.

"If we promise not to bid on the statue of Brigh, could you be tempted not to bid against us on other items?"

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19.

That would be because it is not a magical weapon property - it is straight out of the CRB - a bow with a strength rating.

"I had no idea that I was traveling with someone that did not respect the laws of your country. Please believe me when I say that I am quite shocked by this turn of events. Do you need any assistance dealing with the criminal?"

A lithe half-elf, whose right arm has been replaced by a construction of organic-looking metal, speaks up.

"So we need to find Torvad, convince him to tell us where the auction is, give us his banner, and then win the Shard at auction, snagging whatever other choice items we can, along the way. Sounds *relatively* straight-forward..."

Too straight-forward. I wonder what the catch will be...?

Going over the thread, there was also the note from 'Slagcrusher' noting that the Captain had told him/her/it about the caravan, essentially setting it up for an ambush... and the ambushers had that strange symbol emblazoned into their hides. That would be a 5th piece of evidence, right...?
