When talking about the undead, Kazmuk disagrees with the others. "The bodies and souls of dead should be put to rrest. It is the prroperr vay, as the Forrgefather and many otherr godds o' light teach us."

I think we should do the following, in this order:

1) Send Gird to Oleg with the message to bring either Denton or Keston to help man the fort. If possible, also send provisions.

2) Explore the immediate surroundings of the fort.

3) Search for the orcs in their last known place. In "in-game time", it has not been long since we have seen their camp, so even if they've moved, we should be able to track them.

3.1) If the orcs are still around, we have to deal with them, since it would be too dangerous to risk them capturing the fort, while letting them lose will make the transportation of provisions between Oleg-Temple-Fort risky as well.

4) Explore the eastern region, since it is closer to the fort.

5) Explore the western region, since it is more distant to the fort and it will take more time, as it is probably forest

6) Send word to Restov, informing our mission is finally completed.

Kazmuk nods, agreeing with Rillka. "The orrcs still vorry me. I believe ve should first explore the arrea arround the forrt as Rillka mentioned and then ve should look forr the orrcs once morre... perrhaps ve can convince them to flee, now that the Stag Lorrd is dead."

"I believe it is too rrisky to leave the forrt as ve explorre the rregion vith a bunch o' orrcs nearrby. They couil easily take the forrt if ve arre not herre, thus makin' them a farr bigger thrreat."

Kazmuk draws his heavy crossbow and readies an arrow. He points at the old man and before shooting, he speaks to the man. "Then rrest in peace, old man. I hope ye find peace in death even if ye could not find it in life." He then kills the old man, giving him the mercy of a quick death.

Kazmuk wastes no time and grabs his wand of healing, intercalating the healing between Andreas and Rillka just in case they are surprised by the badger. Just to let you know, I've not forgotten about Andreas and Rilka. My reasoning behind deciding to attack instead of healing them is that both sides are basically 1 hit away from losing and I've spent my highest level spells already.

I still have the wand and a couple 1st level spells, but even at maximum effect they will not bring neither of Andreas nor Rillka back. It will take most likely 2-3 pops each.

Rillka is out of danger, but Andreas is creeping towards death. I might have no choice but to indeed heal him next round, if I'm alive.

DM Rostam wrote:

From Kazmuk's action for the bull rush I would like everyones opinion on the following:

From my understanding, the rules for any non-voluntary movement are that you can not move a target into an inherently dangerous location (ex. shove them off a cliff). I generally think that is silly and IRL I have house ruled it to being allowed but the target gets a DC 15 reflex save.

Is the above acceptable or can anyone find something that contradicts the above and allows shoving people to their dooms? It won't impact this instance because Kazmuk did not beat the Stag Lord's CMD but in the future it may matter.

As far as I know, there is nothing in Bull Rush that prevents us to shove someone into a dangerous place. The reasoning behind this is that it is an involuntary move, like we are forcing them to move. The Drag combat maneuver has the same text as Bull Rush, since it is also a forced movement.

However, if you take a look on the Reposition combat maneuver, that one does have a clause about not allowing us to reposition a foe into a dangerous place. I believe that the idea behind this is that the with Reposition, you are more like 'guiding' the target to the new place.

Bull Rush was printed in the Core Rulebook, while Drag and Reposition were printed in the Advanced Players Guide. Drag has a very similar wording to Bull Rush, while Reposition has the clause about dangerous place. I believe both RAW and RAI is that both Bull Rush and Drag allow us to move enemies into dangerous places without any further checks or saves.

Also, bummer that the Bull Rush failed. :(

The Staglord being so deadly with his bow gives Kazmuk an idea. He asks for the Forgefather for the knowledge to build, even if by building he'd need to destroy. He pictures a slightly smaller bow in his head as he finishes his prayer and moves towards the bandit lord, touching his bow!

Touch: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18

Casting Wood Shape before moving to touch the Staglord's weapon. Will DC 14 to resist, otherwise would shape his bow into a smaller one, or more curved, in a way that the string would be useless until fixed.

Regarding the wall Rillka is taking cover, take a look on this part of the rules regarding "Low Obstacles":

Low Obstacles and Cover
A low obstacle (such as a wall no higher than half your height) provides cover, but only to creatures within 30 feet (6 squares) of it. The attacker can ignore the cover if he’s closer to the obstacle than his target.

Kazmuk reaches for his wand of healing and then follows Andreas to keep him in a fighting shape.

Wand of Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

@Andreas: Have you accounted for the 4 temporary HP the Aid spell gave you?

Kazmuk makes a quick prayer in dwarven before touching Andreas in his arm. "The Fatherr vills us success. Go vith His blessin'!"

Casting Aid on Andreas. He gets 4 temp HP and +1 morale bonus to on attacks and saves against fear.

@Rillka: Unless you have an ability that extends the range of your burning hands, you'll only be able to hit the closest bandit from your current position. It is a 15 ft. range spell.

Kazmuk press forward, giving Andreas the chance to eventually flank the bandit before he slams his hammer at him.

Kazmuk moves towards the bandits and raises his shield, trying to put himself between them and Andreas, who is more wounded. "Ye should surrrenderr as vell!"

Moving and taking total defense. Trying to get Andreas soft cover from the archers.

@DM Rostam: Just realized I had not updated Kazmuk's current hp since that fight with the orcs (Sarenith 5). I've checked it and this is the first time Kazmuk gets hit this day (Sarenith 6).

Kazmuk nods to Andreas, actually thinking exactly the same. He also raises his shield and follows along with the nobleman.

I really like all this diplomacy, even if Kazmuk is generally quite.

I'm always up for more realistic ways to game and this is one of those ways.

In every real fight there is the chance that it will be your last, even if you are a skilled combatant, so I believe that, unless there is a good reason for the involved parties to just try to kill each other (like one is a hungry beast, or is too powerful, or they hate each other), there will be a lot of talking.

Kazmuk stops where he is, giving the men the opportunity to do as they've said. He still is suspicious of them, so he keeps his shield up.

Keeping the full defense.

I'm ok with this as well.

Still keeping his shield high, Kazmuk presses forward, moving through the door to keep the bandits in sight.

Keeping total defense and moving.
